North Carolina police have charged a neighbor with the murder of a five-year-old boy who was riding a bike in his own yard when he was shot at point blank range on Sunday evening. Darius Sessoms, 25, was taken into custody by Wilson police around 24 hours after he allegedly approached Cannon Hinnant in front of the young boy's father's house at 5:30pm and shot him in the head. Hinnant's seven-year-old and eight-year-old sisters witnessed the killing, their mother told WRAL. Sessoms lived next door to the family, and the killing is not believed to be random.

Comments:

Do bLACK people now have to grovel and Say His Name (Cannon Hinnant) while we riot and tear down their beloved MLK statues, or are only WHITE people into that sort of personal debasement?

Small tears in our culture and society have grown to be major fault lines. When we tolerate litter and a broken window here and there we invite the next level and so on. Rudy couldn't have been more correct. What he did for NYC is what we need to do to the entire country. Now we have reverted to savagery. And rather than raise the decedents of African slaves up in our society we lowered everybody else down by romanticizing the violent urban culture. We are reaping what we sowed.

#11, the killer was a repeat felon who probably should have been in prison. FTA: "According to the Wilson Times, Sessoms was previously convicted of felony larceny of firearms in Wilson County in March 2016, misdemeanor maintaining a place for a controlled substance in Wake County in April 2016 and felony marijuana possession in Nash County in November 2016. Court records also show that Sessoms has two pending counts of felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance in Wilson County."

Interesting how most looters, rioters, and murder/shooting suspects that we see on TV are all the same race of people who are crying that they are unjustly being stereotyped as looter, rioters, murders, and shooters. Many Black people seem to feel that they have license to attack others with no consequence since they are so "persecuted".

A federal appeals court in New Orleans on Thursday ruled that the all-male military draft system is constitutional, pointing to a 1981 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. The case, which was argued in March, stemmed from a lawsuit filed by two men with the National Coalition for Men who had challenged the historic male-only draft. They had argued that the 1981 case was outdated and was ruled on when women were not as involved in combat as many are today. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rule that “only the Supreme Court may revise its precedent.”

In reading George Will’s recent column (“The Difference between Trumpism and fascism”), I was struck by a few things: his elitist anti-Trump tone, his denigration of the President’s supporters and his lack of understanding of Donald Trump’s appeal. The thing which struck me most, however, was not a failure to know the past, but his inability to apply the lessons of history to the present. He recites the basics of the history of fascism while completely missing how that history applies to the current situation.
