NBC News will reportedly be laying off staff due to declining revenue amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to Page Six.The network’s parent company NBCUniversal is planning cuts countrywide, according to Tuesday reports. These cuts include employees at NBC News, sources told Page Six. A little less than 3% of employees at NBC News are reportedly being laid off, the publication added. These cuts come as NBC News’ “Today” producer Jackie Levin leaves the network. Levin worked at NBC for 26 years and recently accepted a buyout, Page Six reported Tuesday.“People are being told today — it’s what everyone had feared. This is not an easy time for anyone,”

I'm not seeing how these layoffs can be the result of the CCP virus since people must be watching more media in general as a result of the lockdowns. This should result in better ratings and ad revenue not less. Granted, the political ad spending was reduced due to the Democrat party folding and nominating Biden early. Why is Netflix and Amazon Prime way up in subscribers but NBC News is way down? Maybe they have a product problem and are using the virus as an excuse. Are these layoffs also hitting Fox News, OAN, and Newsmax?

The networks depend on advertising revenue from companies that have been closed, or crippled in some way. Most of the revenue comes from the NFL, who should not be allowed to play this year. If BLM really, the 80% NFL black players should not be exposed to Covid-19. The networks need to be more sensitive to these concerns, and cancel the season.

I'm not sure why NBC Sports division revenue losses would be levied on the news division. I would think the execs would fight this to the death. If advertising revenue is down why haven't Fox News seen similar layoffs? Wait, now I see. MyPillow is actually supporting the entire Fox enterprise. Thanks, Mike Lindell!

Well, when you only report one-sided attacks, and always negative news about this administration, people will tune you out.

Gee. One would think they would be increasing staff with millions at home watching NBC news and nothing else to d or any place to go. Or maybe NBC news sinks so bad nobody is watching it.

The NFL and NBA should not play because there is risk to the players. I won't be watching anyway.

It's kind of a stretch to refer to NBC as a news organization isn't it?

First it was Joey's CV-19 excuse. Now its NBC Faux News. The real reason is no one is watching their fake news anymore and they've lost viewership.
