Former spy chief Richard Grenell defended President Trump from media critiques about his handling of intelligence about alleged Russian bounties on the heads of U.S. troops. Grenell, who oversaw the 17-member U.S. intelligence community from Feb. 20 to May 26, clashed with CNN's Jake Tapper on Twitter on Friday after the State of the Union moderator chided Trump for claiming ignorance of the reports of a Russian spy unit paying Taliban fighters to kill coalition forces in Afghanistan. "You haven’t seen the intel," Grenell tweeted. "You don’t know what you are talking about. Your network told Americans that Kim Jung Un was incapacitated and brain dead for weeks.

The best way Russia can apologize for this outrage is to put a bounty on the head of Jake Tapper.

Just the other night, I watched a movie called The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor about a small group of soldiers (maybe 50 or so ) who held off close to 400 Taliban fighters at a small base deep in the mountains of Afghanistan. Decent enough movie, starring Clint Eastwood's son, Kyle who portrayed Staff Sgt. Clinton Romesha who received the The Medal Of Honor for his actions during that fight. The movie had ended and I sat there watching the credits roll. I saw the name Jake Tapper. I googled him out of curiosity and was stunned to find out that Jake Tapper, yes that Jake Tapper wrote the book!!! I sat there thinking to myself, as threw up in my mouth, I just put money into this moron's pocket, in addition, I will never get that time back!!

CNN's "sources" are a grab-bag of liars and moral miscreants. They trust "outstanding" people like John Podesta, Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, and Maddy Albright for "accurate foreign intel." A truly pathetic cartoon channel. What did Idi Obola know about "bounties" and when did HE know it?

Jake should have realized by now that spewing his balloon juice out his nether regions is no way for a journalist to win friends or credibility. How sad that he has gone from somewhat credible, to now as bad or worse than most of his colleagues in the media. Acosta, Stelter, and the Morning Schmoe couple are the only ones worse than he is right now to my mind. Yeah the rest of MSNBC is bad, but they were never good, were they.

Grenell is emerging as a major star among true conservatives. Tapper, on the other hand, is a guy who went from serious liberal reporter to silly progressive propagandist. Can they all be that afraid of the Squad? Or perhaps the puppet masters who control them?

The Chicago Gun Myth 11 replies

The tragically incompetent mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, appeared on CNN’s State of the Union this weekend to deflect attention from the horror show unfolding in her city by blaming interlopers for its spiking murder rate: “We are being inundated with guns from states that have virtually no gun control, no background checks, no ban on assault weapons — that is hurting cities like Chicago.” Although these accusations have leveled by Chicago politicians for decades now, they are a myth. For one thing, there is no state in the nation with “virtually no gun control” or “no background checks.” Every time anyone in the United States purchases a gun

“My whole adult life, opponents of private gun ownership have insisted that an individual right to keep and bear arms was outmoded because it is better to rely on the police,” Georgetown Law professor Randy Barnett recently remarked. “In multiple ways, in 2020 that argument has been completely demolished.” He is correct on both counts. The argument that only the police should have guns was once standard. It has now become unfashionable, as everyone is expected to accept the premise that only criminals and rioters should have them. The anti-gun Left — and even a newly resurgent gun-toting Left involved in or near to the recent riots — is being swept

Every single player on the Carolina Hurricanes and the New York Rangers stood during the national anthem Saturday afternoon. In the first game of the NHL’s 24-team postseason return during the coronavirus pandemic, not a single player on either team took a knee. Protesting during the national anthem is front and center again in the world of sports, and virtually the entire NBA has done it. In fact, the only player to not take a knee through Friday was Orlando Magic player Jonathan Isaac.

There have been more shootings so far this year in New York City than in all of 2019. A 24-year-old man who walked bleeding into Lincoln Hospital in The Bronx on Saturday night has pushed the city’s total number of shootings this year to 777 — topping the 776 recorded in all of last year, NYPD data compiled by The Post reveals. And it’s only the first days of August, with five more months before the year is over. “It only gets worse from here,” warned Joseph Giacalone, a retired NYPD sergeant and an adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

The Rasmussen daily presidential tracking poll for Friday, July 31, finds that 50 percent of likely voters approve of President Trump’s job performance, while 48 percent disapprove. 39 percent strongly approve and 43 percent strongly disapprove. Comparing Trump’s approval rating to that of Barack Obama on the corresponding date eight years ago, Rasmussen finds Trump doing slightly better. On July 31, 2012, Obama’s approval rating in the Rasmussen poll was 47 percent. If the latest Rasmussen numbers accurately reflect public opinion, and if these numbers hold up, Trump will likely win the election, assuming voter fraud doesn’t prevent that result.

President Donald Trump scored a legal victory Friday as a federal appeals court upheld a lower court ruling tossing out a libel lawsuit filed against him by adult film star Stormy Daniels over a tweet Trump fired off about her in 2018. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals accepted arguments by Trump’s lawyers that he was merely offering his opinion and not leveling any factual claims of his own when he issued the tweet casting doubt on her claims that she faced intimidation as she prepared to go public with allegations that she and Trump had a sexual encounter.

Darren Wilson is the former Ferguson, Missouri police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown, who assaulted him. The shooting was a wholly justified act of self defense. Yet, it triggered the Black Lives Matter movement. It’s fitting that a phony justice movement originated with a phony claim of police misconduct. Wilson has been cleared of any criminal conduct by a grand jury and by the Obama-Holder Justice Department. But the left never gives up. Thus, as Bill Otis notes, yet another prosecutor, Wesley Bell elected in 2018, reopened the investigation of Wilson. Bell, who is African-American, gained office by attacking Robert McCulloch, the incumbent prosecutor. McCulloch led the grand jury proceeding

At 8:46 a.m. on Thursday, President Trump issued his wildly irresponsible tweet suggesting the November election be delayed — yet another reminder that Trump is contributing to the breakdown of America’s democratic institutions just when it needs them the most. Then, only two hours later, we got a reminder of where Trump might have gotten the idea that our democratic institutions don’t deserve respect: from his wildly irresponsible predecessor. During his eulogy at the funeral of the civil-rights hero John Lewis, Obama called for a degree of norm-shattering in service of the partisan interests of the Democrats that will, quite simply, tear this country asunder.

On Aug. 1, 1945, 12-year-old Hideko Sudo went to bed fully clothed and full of worry. For days, air raid alerts had left the coastal city of Toyama on edge, prompting her school's closure. More alarmingly, earlier that day, American planes had rained down leaflets warning of an imminent attack. Hideko's fears proved well-founded. Despite a sophisticated alert system and a decade of air defense drills, the arrival just after midnight of a wave of B-29 bombers plunged Toyama into chaos. Superfortresses — 173 of them — encountered only sparse antiaircraft fire as they released around 1,500 tons of incendiaries onto the city's center.

"So, really, all of the efforts that Trump is making to both pretend that he can extend the date of the election, which everyone understands he can't do that. That date is set at November 3rd by act of Congress."
