The Cato Institute just released a new report showing that 62 percent of Americans are inclined to self-censor what they say politically “because others might find them offensive.” (Snip) The “very conservative” have been pushed deepest in the closet: they are most likely to refrain from saying what they think politically, at nearly twice the rate of the “very liberal.”(Snip)Across all age ranges, 78 percent said it would be wrong to fire an executive for making a personal donation to Biden, while only 69 percent believe it’s wrong to fire one simply for being a Trump donor.

The problem with the young is they don't have enough life experience to understand Karma or how she works. She can come when these kids least expect it and believe me, she bites hard. Set this kind of precedent, and it always turns on the democrats.

That's our future, folks. Wait. What am I talking about? We have already arrived there.
We are already at the point where some of our co-workers and bosses are little more than East German Stasi informants.

First question. What on earth gives these young people the right to be offended by what someone else does or thinks just because they do not agree with it? They should learn what it means to realize that there is a God and that it is not them.

Why wouldn't progs be outspoken? They have much of the political apparatus and nearly all of the media backing them up. Conservatives need to watch their step because they can literally be ruined by a seemingly innocuous word or tweet. In fact, Republicans in general are now the despised outcasts of liberal society where hatred of the GOP runs rampant. Think I'm exaggerating? Here are a few quotes from a well-known forum:
----------------
It's not fair to say that everyone who voted for President Trump is a racist. No, there are also sociopaths, angry idiots, trolls, greedy assh0les, conspiracy nuts, nazis, religious hypocrites, willfully-ignorant sh!tbags, and Devin Nunes.
The right wing has gone totally evil. Stopping for them in crosswalks is immoral.
The Republicans need to be crushed. Not compromised with, not negotiated with. Destroyed as a viable political party once and for all.
Pure, unadulterated, satanic, evil. The Republican party in a nutshell.

The enemy has been met. Prepare.

Thank God they do not vote and many are not registered. Social media is not news. Now thank God many of the young people I know at least are open to a discussion and will do the research.

The study finds the ONLY people who feel comfortable spouting their political etc opinions anywhere, anytime, in season and out without any fear of retribution or any care they might offend others are "strong liberals." Ah the font of unending Liberal Progressive hubris.. the koolaid from which bubbles forth is a strong brew.

FTA: "This brings us to the second most disturbing revelation of this report: the declining cognitive and logical rigor of today’s youth." Disturbing? US public schools, which are controlled by our own federal government, teach Marxism beginning in kindergarten (and even earlier, in federally funded preschool programs). And to pass the required core courses in colleges and universities, which also receive federal funding, you need to demonstrate the correct thinking. This is now our predominant culture, and we show it by tearing down our monuments, rewriting our history and language, and knowing that we cannot speak our minds without failing in school or losing our jobs. But hey, at least we still have our Constitution and (for now) our national flag.

I blame W Bush and generations of DC politicians who in the erstwhile goal of standardizing education have centralized and politicized education. I'd like to believe we can reverse this process by bringing back local control but all of our college teaching programs have poisoned generations of our primary and secondary educators who think 1619 and other claptrap is honest and true. Homeschooling could work but how many inner city parents could make effective teachers? We'd have to teach them again.

Excellent. So we can now ask these kids looking for jobs what their political leanings are and not hire them if they are liberals? Who knew that was OK? Thanks kids!
Maybe we could take it a bit further. If they want a student loan they should be refused because they will be inclined to default on it. The same for car loans and mortgages. I'm sure there is lots of other stuff that liberals "need not apply" for.
We can also ask what potential judges political leanings are and deny liberals any judicial positions because they have such faulty judgement. This would also be a good way to thin out the teacher roster. If they are liberals, we can't trust them to teach our kids. Since almost all of them are liberals we would have to start from scratch with Conservative teachers. But if we focus on pure education instead of all the feel good baloney the job could be done with a lot less people so maybe that's a good thing.
What freedom our "wise kids" have given us, to apply and enforce the rules of common sense and stop indulging dopey libs.

Another enormous indicator of the failure of our public education system. It is time to support anything that the goons in the teacher's union hate. Over paid, underperforming, self-centered propagandists.

I question the validity of these polls as well as the ones that show Biden leading by a large margin. Who answers these polls? None of my conservative friends do. I think polls are mush these days.

I recall in high school, 50+ years ago, that many classmates actually believed they were going to change the world. I don't know if anyone who made any impact.
The dims want to lower the voting age to 16 for obvious reasons. It should be raised to 30 for obvious reasons.
And withholding should end and federal taxes collected in full on election day. Taxes paid on full before a ballot is issued.

I've heard of a relatively new employment website (unwoke.hr) whose tagline is "hire thinkers not activists." Hopefully businesses who have unfortunately hired millenial activist snowflakes and are now regretting those hires will have a place to search for people who have a desire to work as well as an inclination to follow their managers directions. This last seems to be extremely difficult for most millenials.
I expect to see other similar websites created in the near future as most businesses finally tire of such high maintenance employees.

When many of these "young americans" are coddled and supported by their parents well into their 20's, can one expect a different outcome?
When being un-friended, or not getting enough "likes" quick enough, is tantamount to being ignored and emotionally traumatic for many of them.
Anyone think the voting age should be returned to 21 which is when they can make most other adult decisions like buying alcohol, buying a firearm, and in some cases buying tobacco products. I would be in favor of 21 being the age to join the military, except the Academies, too.

What is the purpose of this report by the Cato Institute. Aren't they suppose to be a conservative think tank? Yeah, right. Like Mitt Romney and Justice John Roberts.
The report doesn't give the metrics. 62% of what? 20 young people or was that 25. Where was this done and with who. It sounds phony and someone looking to get published.

It is not just the young. The love of money has taken over America. If you are afraid of losing your job just because you are for DT then you need to change jobs. For the time being, you have that choice. Start relying on God and yourself, not a Nazi boss and corrupt Government. Life is way too short to be afraid. Praise God and take matters into your own hands, you will be so much happier. The alternative is to stay silent, wait for Nov every 4 yrs, and keep looking back over your shoulders.
