Fox News host Tucker Carlson said during his show on Friday that once-conservative news aggregator Matt Drudge of “The Drudge Report” is “now firmly a man of the progressive Left,” noting that his site has taken on a decidedly anti-President Trump bent in recent months.“For decades, Matt Drudge was one of the most influential figures in conservative journalism. His self-titled Drudge Report broke news and set priorities in digital media,” Carlson said as he began a segment with Drudge biographer Matthew Lysiak.“Republican presidential candidates made wooing the famously secretive Drudge a high priority,” he continued. “And for several of them it paid off big, including Donald Trump.”

Blackmail
and.. recently have added the THIRD B that Global Communists have used for 100 years..

I'm not convinced that the link between Tucker and Matthew Lysiak just happened to be lost.

In other words, Drudge chose to follow the money.

I dropped Drudge many months ago. If he indeed just follows the money, fine, just not mine.

I dropped Drudge back in 2016. He was drifting left even then.

Drudge became 'Fredo to me' several years ago. It's all about the cash for him. See ya

For many years, Drudge used to be my home page. Gave up on him over a year ago. Instead, look at Bongino or Revolver.

Noticed the leftward drift of Drudge Report for a long time, but my tipping point came last Thanksgiving Weekend, when Drudge's headline was something like "Low Black Friday turnout and sales" when in fact this country has RECORD sales. Have not visited since then.
I check out the Bongino Report instead.

His obsession with sex robots turned me against him long before his revulsion of President Trump. Being a "News Aggregator" isn't what it once was, since there are so many more choices these days. I use:

Lysiak explanation was weak. It may be the best explanation there is, but it was hard to believe and unsatisfying at best. How is it profitable to toss your entire readership out the window? Everyone who used to like the drudgereport now hates it -- how is that following the money?

Nothing-burger. The interview reveals nothing more than what was known back in April - which the written article repeats.

Early on, I didn't understand why the liberals ranted about Drudge. After all, it's not like he wrote the news columns that were posted on his site.

Waaay back in the day, Matt Drudge used to host a Sunday evening show on Fox News during the late 90s, I think. It was very anti-Clinton (Lewinski scandal era) and pro-life. Anne Coulter was a common guest, usually plugging her latest book.
I heard he left the show after Fox executives fought him airing a photograph of pre-natal baby holding the finger of a surgeon from the mother’s womb in the middle of an operation.
How much Drudge has changed since then. Lysiak’s theory just does not add up.

It is not about the money. Drudge is way past having any concerns about money. And it has been more than a few months that Drudge went left. It has been closer to 3 years. It is also more than going left. It is that Drudge has gone left, and stopped telling the truth, which is going left.

Times was. and going way back to Clinton/Lewinsky, Drudge was my go to, the first one I checked. Now if I go to him once every two weeks it is something, and then it is out of boredom or curiosity. And I DON'T believe the Drudge people saying viewing is up.

Chillijilli, you will be amazingly rewarded by visiting Whatfinger.com, a fine aggregator source, very conservatively connected, but also shows leftie sites with forewarnings, plenty of video clips and some cartoon fun for good measure.

They may also have set it up to refuse him the ability to link to their sites, which would have curtailed his business. Hope Matt enjoys his choices.

I don’t think monetary profits could entirely explain the nastiness and the hard-left slant to everything Drudge links to. There’s got to be something deeper and more personal. That said, I certainly don’t visit his website anymore.

# 14 May have inadvertently answered a question in the news. Walmart is closing for Thanksgiving this year and no longer having "Black Friday" Can't have a "Black" Friday. Maybe they didn't want to be looted.
