AT readers will be shocked to learn of the passing of Lloyd Marcus, Tea Party icon, prolific AT contributor, and conservative activist extraordinaire. Lloyd suffered an apparent heart attack early Friday, dying before medical assistance could arrive. His beloved wife Mary was at his side at the time. Lloyd worked his way out of a ghetto background under the guidance of his father, the late Rev. Lloyd E. Marcus, a career firefighter and civil rights pioneer.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. His insights into how the black community has historically been taken advantage of by Democrats and fellow blacks alike were eye-opening. RIP Lloyd, and my sympathies to his family and friends.

This really saddens me. I had the pleasure of meeting him in person four years ago at a Cruz rally in Houston. Great guy. Huge loss of a great Patriot for America. RIP Lloyd.

Very, very sad to learn of Lloyd's death. Our deepest sympathies to his family.
Some of us have travelled along on this path together with Lloyd from the TEA Party's beginning. I only knew him from the articles he wrote, but he was so clear and so himself. Lloyd was good. A really good man. A clear thinker and funny and true. We feel the loss already. I hope his family knows how he was loved and respected by his readers.
May God comfort his family.

I am heart broken over this news. I’ve followed Mr. Marcus for years and never missed one of his articles. This feels the same as when we lost Charles Krauthammer - sane voices in an insane world.
Prayers and condolences for his beloved wife, Mary, and for the rest of his family. A happy warrior called home, may he rest well in the loving arms of God.

We all depart when the Lord decides to take us and when we have completed the work He assigns us to do. Mr. Marcus did His work wonderfully and now the Lord is giving him a much deserved rest.
That being said this is such sad news. I enjoyed his articles so much and I will remember Mary in my prayers.
He was a fine man.

Mr. Marcus was well-raised by a good man and he showed this in the courage and sanity of his articles. May his family have the peace that passes understanding.
This loss and that of Mike Adams profoundly diminishes the conservative cause.

Dear Lord. What a sad few days we have experienced. It is less than 2 years since Lloyd's father died - Lloyd write such a beautiful tribute to him. May an as yet unknown hero step up to take his place -and another one for Mike Adams. My heart is crying.
