Portland, Oregon, was once known as the quintessentially nice Northwestern city. Its nickname, “The Rose City,” was given to it by a Baptist group that held a convention there over a century ago. Sadly, today, riot-riven Portland smells like anything but roses.
The city has been the locus of nonstop violent protests for 51 days and counting. And really, calling them protests is incorrect: They are acts of outright rebellion, with many participants openly calling for the dismantling of the United States.
The Daily Caller described the mayhem and posted videos of it, which included the attempted torching of the

FTA: "So far, departures from Portland remain largely anecdotal, with little hard evidence – yet." Check the Uhaul rentals in the Portland area, that will tell you something.

Trump is going into great lengths trying to save Democratic cities from themselves. Is there a hope to get a lot of votes from these areas in November? I doubt it, then why he is doing so?
I would help willing federal employees to relocate out, move federal services to some warehouses in less toxic places, and let the cities burn, and every day remind 10 times who is in charge there.

This is the 'Barbarians from Within' scenario.
At some point, if we are to survive as a nation, we must recognize the difference between people who live in America, and People who Believe in America. And we need to shed ourselves of the merely 'I just live here' crowd, that don't honor its principles.

Sadly, the people who would like to leave Portland won't be able to sell their Homes. I would bet their homes are now worth a lot less than they were six months ago. That's a shame and the blame for that lands squarely on the shoulders of the Mayor. I could have a bit more sympathy for those Homeowners if I didn't believe they were the ones who voted that mayor into office!

The mayor should be arrested, without bail, for aiding and abetting a terrorist organization. In fact, send him to Gitmo.

The Portland Mayor isn't just allowing the rioting to continue, he's encouraging it. He is literally aiding and abetting an insurrection. I couldn't believe the video I saw of him openly imploring the rioters to keep it up and not quit until the federal marshalls leave. That should be a federal crime. Would love to see him snatched and stuffed into an unmarked van the next time he does that.

I prepayed for 6 nights at the Embassy Suites in downtown Portland for a vacation 5 years ago. The city is a garbage dump, overrun with homeless druggies and their trash, and I left after 2 nights even though I could not get a refund. It would be best if the whole place was burned to the ground.

The government has a responsibility to protect it's property, and the President is reminding them that those Federal buildings deserve to be protected.
I think he should stop saying, I'll do it, if they won't. And, simply say, the Federal government is here to help, if the people want help and protection.
I think he's also sending a subtle message to people nearby, or a few towns away from Portland, that they could be next, if you let it happen.
Wonder is Portland area a hot spot of Covid-19? Or is it non-existent? Love how they use those masks, but they also used them before Covid.

The sensationalist media feeds us daily statistics of the riots, the cities allowing protesters to "express themselves," numbers of shootings and murders and COVID deaths in the "hot spots" with the "shocking" numbers of new cases. Why is there no mention of the hundreds of cities in the country, populated by good, honest people who voted in functioning governments and have very low crime rates? Rhetorical question of course. Everyday America under Donald Trump's successful leadership is not "news."

Also time to end the Mayor also wearing the hat of Police Commissioner. Right now, decisions are not made for the sake of public security, but for the political fannies of the Pols in charge. Wheeler needs to be frog marched out of the building in full view of nationwide cameras. He could stop this stuff, but he won't. He is as malicious as Cuomo when it comes to the residents of the city of Portland.

It will end when the voters of Portland change the government, and nor until then.
This is government approved destruction, all of it.
Both the mayor and governor approve of this destruction.

Traveled a lot to Portland in the late 80’s! Was encouraged by locals including taxi drivers to NOT venture out of my hotel room after dark! It has NEVER been a glorious location!
