Two teenage boys have been charged in the fatal shooting of a retired University of North Dakota provost during an attempted robbery Friday morning in South Carolina. Retired UND provost Tom DiLorenzo, 63, was out walking with his wife, newly-appointed College of Charleston provost Suzanne Austin, when the fatal shooting occurred at about 6.15am in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. During the incident, two men approached the couple at an intersection near an antiques store and demanded money from them at gunpoint. DiLorenzo was then shot during the attempted robbery. He was taken to the hospital where he died just before 7am,

You have to be a modern-day Code Talker to speak the truth. "Police Chief Luther Reynolds said agents from the state law enforcement division and Charleston County deputies are assisting with the investigation. Those agencies also are helping with patrols on lower King Street. 'There’s certain people in a community, that’s a very small number of people who are disproportionately responsible for the violence in our community,' Reynolds said. These people belong in jail.'" https://www.live5news.com/2020/07/17/cofc-says-provost-husband-targeted-deadly-early-morning-robbery/

People insist on imagining that things are OK and that they don't actually need to be armed and be on alert when walking in public these days. Sorry, those days have passed in much of the country, and you must be able to protect yourself. You have exactly as much security as you brought with you.

Feral, amoral animals. I have had a carry permit for years, keep a loaded .38 in my car, but rarely carried when I was out in public. That's changed now. The left and BLM have given the green light for robbery and murder and the street animals have become even more emboldened. Be armed and be aware.

Condolences to his family. No family should have to go through a tragedy like his murder. There's a big difference between urban Grand Forks, ND and urban Charleston, SC, starting with the racial mix. It is reasonably safe to walk after dark in one and treacherous in the other. Always know your environment before venturing out, even in the daytime. When in doubt, pack a gun.

When I last visited Charleston I was impressed with the beauty of the city and all the signs of Faith expressed there. Having seen the decline of North Carolina, probably because of the influx of Outsiders, I worry that South Carolina may succomb to the same influences. May the Lord protect South Carolina and Charleston for the sake of his people who dwell there.

While their names have not been released yet, photos leaked onto the internet suggest the two "boys" were indeed black. Regardless, they should be tried as adults and executed at the earliest. That poor fellow DiLorenzo. Sorrow for his wife who witnessed her husband's murder. Capital punishment in South Carolina is administered by lethal injection although the inmate can request electrocution if he/she/it prefers. Two boys, which do you prefer?

2nd post apologies, but...the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the execution of a person who committed the crime prior to age 18, is unconstitutional. that caused many courts to change death penalty sentences to such individuals, to life without parole. the U.S. Supreme Court then ruled that an automatic sentence of life without parole, to an individual who committed the crime prior to age 18, is unconstitutional. and in NYS, Goofy Andrew Cuomo, is trying to extend that youth protection, to somewhere around age 20-21. Ouer incompetent governor, Tom wolf, killer of the elderly, will probably follow suit.

I only visited Charleston once, walked along a wharf area which is now tourist shops, had lunch in a nice restaurant. And when walking, we ran across, farther up the hill, away from the water, a tiny little enclosure with a couple of cannons. IIRC, they had been held for Washington, and had to be hidden by burying them at one point. It seemed like a nice place....but I was armed, and so was one other adult male in our group.

So we have three 'teens" out at 6 AM in a fairly new car with a gun. Notice parents are never mentioned in these homicide stories? Anybody question where their kids were at 6 AM? Sick of one group of perpetual victims telling us how they are afraid of the police. Not afraid of those guns? If they stole the gun, that's another crime. If you are old enough to do the crime, you are old enough to do the time.

There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred.
