Fox News correspondent-at-large Geraldo Rivera vehemently disagreed with U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan for denying alleged Jeffrey Epstein madam Ghislaine Maxwell bail on Tuesday, claiming the judge caved to the “mob” and “chickened out.”
Maxwell, who has been charged with four counts of child sex trafficking and two counts of perjury, pleaded not guilty to the charges on Tuesday and her trial was set for July 2021. Nathan then denied Maxwell bail, meaning the accused sex trafficker will remain in custody for a year.

This is the first thing I may have ever agreed with Geraldo on. I still think Fox should not torture us with his presence. Please do something about that moustache. I have to look away.

Why is Geraldo so interested and out spoken on this case. Makes one wonder how many trips he may have
made on Jeffrey Epstein's sex plane. Hmmmmmm!

I don't care if she was denied bail or not. But I do want her to stay alive so she can expose this awful child sex trafficking ring. I want to know WHO was there and they need to pay the price too....

There are many that wanted her to skip for a variety of reasons and only a moron Judge would allow her the opportunity. She is a major flight risk. Is Geraldo playing up to his buddies that are at risk of being caught up in this? Every single person potentially compromised by her was praying she was released on bail.

Ordinarily I would say she is safer in jail, protected from those who would like her dead to silence her.

The evidence against her is strong and there is no doubt about her very close association with Epstein. And no doubt she has the means to flee and could get a whole lot of help from some very powerful and influential people (one or more of whom might want to silence her for good so a little risky for Maxwell). A perfect scenario for denial of bail. She's facing the possibility of a long prison term, I know if I were her I'd get the hell out of Dodge. With a hefty "insurance policy" for safety.

#1, I once spent part of a day with Geraldo, after being interviewed by him. He is as charming an individual as I have ever met. And I am not susceptible to b.s. charm. But when the camera went on, he did a thorough interview with just one silly over the top question.
He makes solid points in the Maxwell case. First, the charges are nearly 30 years old. second, there is a real question about whether she was granted immunity in the Florida case against Jeffrey. But worst of all, why does it take a year after arrest to go to trial? what has happened to our legal system?
The FBI, but no one else, knew that Maxwell was on her property in NH. why not leave her there? Is jail safe for an at risk prisoner, especially one where the Queen of England has a strong motive to kill the prisoner?
give Geraldo a break. He was a prosecutor, and knows the bad side of criminal justice. i would trust him over just about anyone at the FBI.

I have no problem with denial of bail. I suspect that she has more than enough to cover the loss and dash to freedom. However, a year in prison waiting for trial? That is a prison sentence in itself! What happened to the right to a speedy trial?

A whole year in prison awaiting trial gives ample time for her notoriety to die down. People will forget all about her being in jail. Jailers will get plenty of time to relax their security if they even have any. She will conveniently commit arkincide and be found dead in her cell just as Epstein hung himself with all the autopsy evidence pointing towards strangulation by some strong persons hands, and the guards who were supposed to be on duty only left him alone for a minute or two when they were to have never left him alone, period.
Everyone involved still working inside the prison where he supposedly committed arkincide by strangling himself and breaking small neck bones that hanging would never have broken?

So Jerry what does she have on you? Not a flight risk? She's loaded, and has some interest in staying one step ahead of the the Clinton ninja assassins not the mention the British who aren't known for their humor when it comes to protecting the brand and you think she'll stay put?
Hey I have an idea, why don't you see of you can set her up in Capone's vault, nobody would be dumb enough to look there, the judge might go for that.

No, she is not Hitler. She is more like Himmler or Goebbels or Eichmann or Mengele or Heydrich.
Anyone who doesn't consider her a flight risk is a moron. But it's Geraldo, so I repeat myself.

I have to wonder if her British citizenship has anything to do with her being denied bail more than the charges do. She is from a wealthy British family, and well connected politically. So if she turns toes up this next year, could get real interesting in our foreign policy with Britain.

Bail is just an insurance policy to try and assure the perp shows up. It is not meant to be a fine, a punishment, too onerous or a huge hurdle to jump over. The perp is supposed to be able to "afford" it. It is, however, supposed to be painful enough that the suspected culprit doesn't eat the expense and flee anyway.
Sorry, Jerry, but the judge made the right call. This nut job, Gazelle, not only has access to international bank accounts the FBI says holds over $20 million but she has 3 valid passports! If there ever was a "flight risk" it's her ya big dope! Even $5 million in bail is peanuts.
After jumping bail she'd flee to a country that has no extradition treaty with the USA --- and not all of them are hell holes like Mongolia, Chad or North Korea. Some could be pretty nice --- like the Marshall Islands or the Maldives. Her remaining $15 million could get a nice place there.

Geraldo is all wet, both when talking about the President and Ghislaine Maxwell. Yesterday Geraldo was on FOX stating that the President will not be re-elected if he does not discover an effective COVID vaccine before Election Day in November. Common sense will tell you that coming up with an effective vaccine is the job of the medical and scientific industries, both in the USA and abroad, and is not the responsibility of the President or any politician. If they do come up with a new vaccine in the coming months there is no way that even medical science will know if the vaccine is effective across the general population for a long time.
On Maxwell there is little doubt that she is an flight risk. If you think that the media is going nuts about Maxwell now, just wait until a conspiracy story pops up claiming that Maxwell is secretly married to Prince Andrew!

I'm thinking that the more time she spends behind bars early on, the more likely she is to vie for good behavior with juicy information. I don't want to see the tapes of BJC, but I want them to be seen. HRC's coat tails in jail. That's the stuff dreams are made of.

This isn't just about Maxwell and her crimes. It's also about the information she has been hiding. After Epstein's "suicide" and Bill Barr's angry response that Epstein wasn't watched more attentively, I am relatively more confident that Maxwell will be prevented from committing suicide or suffering Arkancide if she's in jail. She's much more vulnerable to being murdered outside of jail, no matter how much money she spends to sequester herself in some ultra-secret hideaway. Out on bail, if the court or the FBI know where to find her, those who paid for Epstein's murder can find her.

2nd post apo9logies, but, #19, I'm an 81 year old retired professor/arbitrator, and I have lived a full and active life. I have met important people - I threw Senator Ed Muskie out of my barracks room in Germany, after working an all night shift, Elvis Presley's wife lived across the street from our dispensary in Germany when she was dating Elvis, (her dad was a USAF major) I once gave a presentation in 1977 to a legislative conference, followed by Jimmy Carter. And my presentation was better.
In the case of Geraldo, I was witness in a federal murder case, and Geraldo interviewed me, after the FBI lost my call to them.. And after spending half a day with him, I told him that I finally understood his staying power- that he was a nice guy. His producer, who was Bert Parks' son, said, 'that's because you don't know him.' i took that to be a joke.
I have had a good life, met interesting people, acquired more degrees than a thermometer.
I don't apologize for that.

A year in jail is plenty of time to consider cutting a deal, releasing the goods, and maybe federal witness protection program after a term in prison. She really doesn't have many options: Don't deal and Long-term prison, with little or no protection from other prisoners or guards looking to score big money; Cut a deal and shorter term in prison, with good protection; Suicide.

Remember a few years ago, that huge terrorist attack in Paris where dozens of concert goers were machine gunned down by a bunch or Muslims? Rivera’s daughter was at a soccer stadium nearby and was in danger. He flew to Paris to bring her home and was interviewed about how terrible it all was. IIRC, he also was in NYC on September 11, 2001. And yet, to this day, he defends Muslims. THAT’s how insane he is. So his support for Maxwell is understandable.
