Romney slams Trump for 'historic corruption'
after he commutes Roger Stone's prison

Sen. Mitt Romney tore into President Trump’s decision to commute his ally Roger Stone’s prison sentence. “Unprecedented, historic corruption: an American president commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury of lying to shield that very president,” the Utah Republican tweeted Saturday morning. [Tweet] It was the strongest statement of disapproval yet from a high-profile Republican after the White House announced on Friday that the president was commuting Stone’s entire three-year prison sentence, which does leave intact his criminal record. Stone, 67, was set to report to prison on Tuesday. An emergency appeal to extend his July 14 surrender date because of the pandemic was rejected

Romney wants so hard to be McCain, but he can't even produce anything worthy to claim the title. At least McCain had his military career, Romney has nothing but an empty core, waiting for whatever somebody wants to put in there that day, that issue. Wet Finger Romney is pathetic, he always was, and he always will be until he dies.

Well, that's interesting. He's part of the PROBLEM; NOT part of the solution - bottom line. Go away Mitt! You're just annoying.

It must be torture for Romney to wake up every morning knowing that he'll never be POTUS and PDJT will forever be either "President Trump," or "Former President Trump." Much as he tries, his scheme to lead the Republican opposition to Trump has gone down in flames as well. The past four years have shown him to be a shameless, backstabbing opportunist with no principles and earning him the well-deserved contempt of anyone aware of his antics.

Mitt Romney has a law degree from Harvard Law School. He is the only U.S. Senator in history who voted in any Senate impeachment trial to convict a President of his own political party, all while ignoring the total lack of due process afforded by the House of Representatives. It's more than disgraceful. Shame on him.

It's possible that Obama's second term can be counted as less destructive than a Romney presidency would have been. I think Trump would still have run in 2016, but his nomination would have been magnitudes harder to accomplish. Thinking about the long term consequences of a Romney presidency now gives me a queasy stomach. How very odd to be almost grateful that he didn't win in 2012.

Someone needs to sit down with Romney, and explain the whole sordid affair from the Obama administration. I seem to recall hearing that Romney, after he learned of the hidden transcripts of the numerous individuals involved in the Russian scheme, and who testified, under oath, and confirmed there was nothing to the collusion or any other issue, that he would not have voted for his one lone impeachment article. So, he's not likely up-to-speed on what's been happening.

It’s been over 11 years since I stepped into my mother’s kitchen back on Long Island, but it all came flooding back the other day when I pulled out her small, olive green metal recipe box. Our kitchen was off the living room at the back of the first floor. Standing at the kitchen sink, you could look over the backyard, to the rusty basketball hoop on the garage roof and our baseball field just over the forsythia bushes. My mom called us from that spot countless times. I wish I had a picture of her standing watch at that window, but it’s probably best remembered in my mind.

Ashburn, Va.—Washington’s NFL team will get rid of the name ‘Redskins’ on Monday, according to multiple reports. It’s unclear when a new name will be revealed for one of the league’s oldest franchises. USA Today, ESPN, The Washington Post, Washington Times and Sports Business Journal reported Sunday night that owner Dan Snyder is set to “retire” the name. Yahoo, on Saturday, reported a name change was imminent. The team launched a ‘thorough review’ of the name July 3 that the NFL supported. That came in the aftermath of prominent sponsors FedEx, Nike, PepsiCo and Bank of America asking the team to change the name.

As for baseball, let’s be honest. It’s boring to watch and it’s even boring to play. Ordinary people who aren’t being paid to play baseball cannot endure it except by playing it co-ed with beer, which makes practically anything endurable including watching paint dry. About 90% of baseball consists of the players standing around while touching their privates whenever the TV camera is pointed at them or sitting around the dugout pretending to watch the other team while touching their privates. They often spit. Why do people pay to see millionaires lolling about in a park and hiding in a little concrete bomb shelter while spitting and touching their privates?

ABC News White House correspondent Jonathan Karl ripped White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany in an op-ed on Monday, claiming her briefings were “political shows” rather than opportunities to provide information to the public.Karl, who wrote a book disparaging the administration called, “Front Row at the Trump Show,” complained in his Washington Post piece that McEnany regularly reprimands “the media” and that she would not directly answer a question about President Donald Trump’s criticisms of NASCAR.Joining CNN’s Brian Stelter Monday, Karl, who is also head of the White House Correspondents Association, doubled down on his piece and used the appearance to future denigrate McEnany’s performances.“ I believe very firmly that

Many of the nation’s 3.5 million teachers found themselves feeling under siege this week as pressure from the White House, pediatricians and some parents to get back to physical classrooms intensified — even as the coronavirus rages across much of the country. On Friday, the teachers’ union in Los Angeles, the nation’s second-largest district, demanded full-time remote learning when the academic year begins on Aug. 18, and called President Donald Trump’s push to reopen schools part of a “dangerous, anti-science agenda that puts the lives of our members, our students and our families at risk.” Teachers say crucial questions about

During the 1930s and 1940s, there were many genuine communists, as well as fellow travelers, working in Hollywood. Once the Cold War began, Hollywood turned against those people and instituted its blacklist, which made it impossible for anyone with communist sympathies to work openly in Hollywood. Of late, the further left you lean in Hollywood, the more you are to be applauded. That’s why it’s incredibly ironic to realize that Hollywood is once again blacklisting people – only this time, blacklisting means that the only people listed for employment have to be black.

The Left’s “Boycott Goya” campaign to bully and silence Goya Food CEO Robert Unanue for praising President Trump has backfired in epic fashion after scores of Trump supporters launched their own counter-boycott called “Goya Buy-cott.” The “Buy-cott” campaign inspired countless Trump supporters to go to their local stores and buy up Goya olives, seasonings, beans, and frozen foods like it’s Christmas. In fact, Goya couldn’t have asked for better marketing if it had paid millions of dollars in prime-time TV and newspaper ads. President Trump kicked things off by tweeting, “I love Goya Foods!” (Tweet)

On Monday, the federal court judge overseeing the case against former Republican campaign advisor, Roger Stone, ordered the Department of Justice to provide details of President Donald Trump’s decision to commute Stone’s sentence — specifically, to clarify whether the commutation applies to Stone’s full sentence or whether it applies only to potential jail time. U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson, the official who sentenced Stone to 40 months in prison followed by two years on “supervised probation,” issued the Monday order, requesting that the DOJ provide a full copy of the president’s commutation order to the U.S. District Court. Jackson told officials to send the court “a copy of the Executive Order

The U.S. Army sent an email to its military and civilian members after the Fourth of July that included a graphic that claimed innocuous words and phrases like “colorblind,” “all lives matter” and the Trump Campaign slogan “Make America Great Again” are evidence of “white supremacy.” The graphic also listed “Celebration of Columbus Day,” the “Denial of White Privilege,” “Talking about ‘American Exceptionalism,’” and saying “There’s Only One Human Race” as behaviors that are indicative of white supremacy. After Army personnel brought the offensive email to the attention of a U.S. Congressman, the Army said the material was “unapproved” and sent out “in error.”

Amid a resurgence in coronavirus cases across the United States, public health officials are asking everyday Americans to do their part. Their message? A face mask is more than a piece of cloth. It's a sign of respect. "Wearing a mask, ladies and gentlemen, is respect," Dr. Padmini Murthy, professor and global health director at New York Medical College, said during a United Nations panel. The science is clear. Wearing a face mask is one of the best ways to prevent coronavirus transmission.
