After positioning their brand in 2015 as the leading indicator of woke credentialing; then reversing course in 2016 on the plan to force racial discussion with every purchase; Starbucks is now announcing a pause in all social media advertising because… well, they don’t want to contribute to hate-speech n’ stuff. …”We will pause advertising on all social media platforms while we continue discussions internally, with our media partners and with civil rights organizations in the effort to stop the spread of hate speech.” (read more)

I'm glad I don't drink coffee and if I did, I patronize a local place that doesn't feel the need to virtue signal.

I guess peddling sewer water in a 'woke' fashion is harder than it looks.

They weren't kissing the woke ring hard enough... Try harder and you'll be bankrupt in no time!

One of my great regrets in life is that I never got to have one of these racism discussions with a 19-year-old barrista with no mortgage or military experience at a Starbucks.
Yep. That could've been a life changing moment for me...

Don’t be surprised if white customers are soon ordered to the back of the line so bLACK patrons are served first! The way things are going, that’s not so far-fetched. The world is going nutso!

If they go broke, it definitely would be mixed feelings in Seattle. Howard Schultz the owner, used to own the Seattle Sonics and he sold the team to some guy in Oklahoma. Quite a few people in Seattle just really, really don't like him.

Ok. the PR department can bather on about what they think sounds best, but in the level below the board room, the conversations are much more honest. 1. Do we REALLY need to spend this much on advertising? 2.Are social media platforms the right way to go...what is the ROI?
In the long run dollars are the only thing that matters. How they gather them and the steps they take along the way are what matter.
Somewhere in the life of every successful company they take the attention off make a quality product and look toward selling stock. I watched FedEx do the same thing. MASSIVE customer centric company, treated employees like humans.. Then a few upper management changes occurred and the accountants took over.
Now It is in business to sell stock, the movement of packages is just the means to generate revenue to attract buyers.

Why don’t you just sell coffee and delicious bakery items and leave everyone alone.

Human Nature Lesson #1: The more you try to appease thugs, the more they see you as weak, and the more they will demand from you!!!
Yet these idiot companies never learn that lesson!!!! Starbucks has been playing that game for years, and now Chick-fil-A is about to learn they lost the first time they gave these vermin an inch!!!!!

And now ANY conservative opinions are "hate speech", you are not permitted to disagree with them.
The German and Italian governments of WW2 would be supportive of these totalitarian thugs.

In the interests of leftist corporate forced volunteerism, I say require employees to "volunteer" to clean up blue city's ransacked areas. Corporate HQ in Seattle should lead the way and clean up CHOP.

I have tried to drink their coffee, over roasted and bitter are not for me. Neither is the attitude of superiority that I get from walking into one of their woke palaces. I no longer patronize their businesses. Their politics stink besides.
