BRUSSELS — European Union countries rushing to revive their economies and reopen their borders after months of coronavirus restrictions are prepared to block Americans from entering because the United States has failed to control the scourge, according to draft lists of acceptable travelers seen by The New York Times.
That prospect, which would lump American visitors in with Russians and Brazilians as unwelcome, is a stinging blow to American prestige in the world and a repudiation of President Trump’s handling of the virus in the United States, which has more than 2.3 million cases and upward of 120,000 deaths, more than any other country.

Seriously, there are a million great things to see in the US and Canada, I'm not even warmed up.

The USA is at least three time as big as any of those European countries with a lot of diverse lifestyles, some of which for one reason or another in their homes and workplaces have been prone to infection by the very contagious foreign origin virus. The Chinese virus has nothing to do with President Trump who has no authority to interfere with the lifestyles of different peoples residing throughout the USA. The virus is a problem for medial science to solve and not a politician. The European governments should be the last governments complaining about how the USA has dealt with the virus, as most of the virus strains now being identified in the USA were imported directly from Europe through globalist style air travel.

Sounds like a good time for Putin to invade. Actually the US controlled things better than the EU. Brussels was an epicenter for the Wuhan virus. Such lilliputians, sad

The Chinese are ok to come in?

The Enemedia loves to crow that the USA is the "worst country" because it has more cases than any other (NB: China threw the media out when the pandemic started). However, the Enemedia also says Sweden is the worst because it has the highest per capita rate of infection. They never report that 9 European countries have higher per capita rates than the USA.

Maybe they should ask the European citizens about that first. Especially the Italians.

Yeah, New York Times would call it "stinging blow to American prestige in the world." I don't. It's more an attempt by euroweenies to get at President Trump. The Trump Derangement Syndrome pandemic.

Got a lot of travel money being re-purposed to US destinations - airfare to EU buys a LOT of cheap US-fracked gasoline - to drive from sea to shining sea - probably just El Paso, Arizona & Newport Beach. Maybe Tetons & ToHelluRide.

Whomever would make such a decision should worry more about letting Muslim extremists in than Americans. A LOT more.

Fine with me. I had a vacation in England and Scotland all planned and paid for, but it was canceled by the Chinese.
I'd be happy to not spend money in their EU countries.

I think the EU has a fine idea - - no more involvement with us.
So - - now we can bring home all of our troops - - and defund NATO. Yup - - I like it!

Let’s just lie about out numbers as the Chinese have. And, go ahead, keep the money out. Apparently they don’t need our tourism dollars.

How about just putting up a "CLOSED GO AWAY (PS - Send Money)" sign in all the languages of the EU plus English everywhere in Europe? I guess that's what happens when the French are in charge.

How quickly would the ban be lifted if one of their little monarchies or muslim appeasement colonies happens to be invaded by other barbarians?

The E.U. cannot hurt American prestige. It can only snivel and pout over it's own impotence. Besides, the E.U. will be history before long, as the oppressed countries pull out. Good riddance to the E.U.!

We took one of those Viking river trips a few years ago. Paris to Normandy. Very nice. About 90% Americans on the ship. I was considering another one but that attitude lost me. Ban away, EU. I won’t be coming back anyway and I’ll bet the European travel industry is about to wet their collective pants in horror of a ban actually happening .

EU is a quite succinct expression of my opinion of the EU.
Used to be nice until the Muslims started burning cathedrals and such.
Guess I'll have to visit the myriad places available in the USA.
