Political and public health leaders appear to have contracted another case of lockdown fever. The governors of Oregon and Utah recently hit pause on their states' reopening efforts. Gov. Andrew Cuomo threatened to do the same in New York City on June 14, even as the city prepares for a new stage of re-opening on June 22.
Meanwhile, public health experts maintain it's unsafe for people to congregate – unless, of course, they're attending a protest that lines up with the progressive consensus.
This is all absurd. After months of lockdown, the most reasonable interpretations of the data indicate that the COVID-19 outbreak is largely contained to a few geographic hotspots

My suburban Kansas county of over 600,000 people has had zero deaths under the age of 40. None.
In the 40-49 age range there have been two deaths. None in the 50-59 age range, and four in the 60-69 age range. Then in the 70-79 age group, ten deaths.
THESE 2-0-4-10 NUMBERS HAVE REMAINED UNCHANGED FOR AT LEAST A MONTH. All added deaths in the last month or so have been in the 80 and over age group, now at 64 deaths. Total county deaths are 80, slowly creeping up - BUT NO DEATHS under the age of 80 for a month or more.
I presume that the few under 80 who died had other health problems as we have been told many times - obesity, diabetes, high BP, lung problems and immune system disorders., but we aren't given that information in the public reports.
In my county, only the 80 and over are dying from this. 64 of 80 is exactly 80% of the dead in the over 80 age group. We need to spend our resources protecting these people, doing what it takes to make them safe - not uselessly harassing the rest of us who are at minimal risk from this Chinese flu.

I always thought a quarantine was to isolate the bad stuff. Heard stories about sick family members stuck in a room, a sheet hung in the doorway ending in a tub of water. Here we are isolating well people with the sick , insane.
Just tell everyone that's sick to stay home and away from everyone. Since we are so prone to hate to miss work, give tax incentives to employers to encourage people with sniffles, scratchy throats and/or congestion to stay/work at home during "flu" season.

If the lefties keep it up, it’s gonna be hard to tell the virus protesters from the Antifa/BLM protesters, except that the former might be armed.

Gov Abbott of Texas is contracting the Democrat fever. All the major cities in Texas are ran by Democrat Mayors, who have been in Austin trying to get mandatory masks. Abbott at first just recommended masks, now says the Mayors can order the stores to require them. I knew we were in trouble when Abbott introduced the doctors he said he was going to rely on, effectively recusing himself like Jeff Sessions. The politicians have no idea what they are doing, and are tearing up the constitution and bill of rights, and laying the precedents for using emergency powers for a leftist takeover. The Republicans will just never learn. Abbott is looking like just another RINO. I am not a happy person with Gov Abbott.

The virus is fizzling out and they are desperate to crash the economy to hurt Trump. Unfortunately, there are plenty of people who will refuse to see this garbage for what it is, and will use it as an excuse to not vote Trump. These blue state/city officials just cannot give up their stolen power.

Florida has a big surge of positive tests. I know of one person who became ill; a friend of a friend. Why aren't they dropping like flies instead of thousands without symptoms?
I predict the crisis will end after the election, but I don't have any initials after my name.

Yes, exactly. End this stupid shutdown. We now know that we need to protect the elderly and those with specific pre-existing health problems and let everyone else go about their business.
