Flavortown. That’s what thousands of people want to rename Columbus, Ohio, according to a new petition posted on change.org. And the petition poster sounds serious.“Beloved Buckeyes one and all,” wrote someone identifying himself as Tyler Woodbridge. “Columbus is an amazing city, but one whose name is tarnished by the very name itself. Its namesake, Christopher Columbus, is in The Bad Place because of all his raping, slave trading, and genocide. That’s not exactly a proud legacy.”

Can the entire globe be sanitized? Can we create a society where no one is ever offended by anything in their field of vision or their range of hearing?

Flavortown? Really? What a sucky name! I'd laugh with pity at anyone who admitted to living or working there. You want to rename it, fine. But 'Flavortown'? Name it Obamaville, maybe. Despise the man and his works, but really... Flavortown? LOL!!!

What do I remember about Columbus? When we were racing in Ohio years ago, I had to go through their airport. The dirtiest, scruffiest, most awful airport ever. Third World dirty.

These people, who didn't live in 1492, are accepting the word of others who did not live in 1492, that Columbus was a bad guy. Who can provide proof that Columbus raped (maybe he had sex by mutual consent?) Who can provide proof that he was involved in the slave trade? The people who are spreading this propaganda should be taught how to check their sources.

Her's how to stop all this nonsense about Columbus.
Spread the word that COLUMBUS WAS GAY, and therefore okay!
That's as true as any of the garbage being thrown around by LeftMedia, BLM and Antifa

I was wondering how long this was going to take! Why are we giving these young asswipes any publicity? They should be totally ignored. And how do we know we aren’t being trolled by this guy? The same goes for CNN and PMSNBC. We have Trump to troll them, like his reference to the “Kung Flu”last night. He got the usual suspects' panties tied up in a knot. This BLM and anti-Columbus tirades have jumped the shark in my opinion. I think fewer and fewer people are listening to them.

How about Africaville, or maybe Congoville, or perhaps New Algiers, or Mugabetown, maybe PapaDocville, or New Mogadishu or New Baghdad - depending on the ethnicity of the racists in charge.

# 2 The big " crime " of Columbus was that he successfully navigate over 3000 miles of uncharted opens seas and made to what is now El Salvador. I would call that bravery.

Modern truth is so horribly outrageous that I'm having trouble lately separating it from satire. Or maybe I'm old and am longing for the time when things made sense (or did they ever?)

WHAT. your telling me that Chris Columbus did the same thing that the Vikings did when they "visited" Ireland and left their calling cards all over the place. Just think, most of the beautiful red-headed Irish girls would not be here if it weren't for the Vikings. That rascal Chris did this stuff all by himself. Raped, slave trading and genocide. Hard to believe this, but gee, if Joseph Curl said it happened, then it must have because he was an eye-witness? Did Chris bring slaves with him? Did ole Chris bring all these illness with him. Must have been one sick puppy if he brought all the illness with him. genocide? He left, went back to England. But ole Joe Curl must have an eyewitness account. Go jump into a lake Joey. Dont like the name of the city, go somewhere else to spend your time and money It's amazing how only one side is allowed to exist. Their way or the highway.

#23, Columbus didn't land in what is now El Salvador. He is thought to have landed on what is now San Salvador Island, in the Bahamas. And BTW, all this was some 124 years before the first hint of the African slave trade, in the Virginia Colony, in 1619.
#28, in reading the article, I didn't get the impression that Joseph Curl was advocating changing the city's name from Columbus to Flavortown. I think he was just reporting what some people are talking about, perhaps a little tongue-in-cheek at their ridiculous proposal.

Think about it. At what point do blacks start holding their own responsible for selling them into slavery. Blacks are referred to as African-Americans. By all reasoning they be should be offended by the African reference because Africans sold them out. Sold men, women and children into slavery. But then again the only things true are what these radicals say is true. Get it yet..

How about Woodyville in honour of Woody Hayes. Woody embodied college football. When the other team is winning punch players from the other team. When you are winning run up the score. Or Ulysses after Grant.

Relatives live a mile from Jack's course. Nice area. The rest of Columbus...ewwww! Including that awful stadium where the evil doers Ohio State plays!!! It's ok, though, when they are forced to play America's Team The Iowa Hawkeyes, we get them at Kinnick once every 3 or 4 years where we put 55 on them... Can't wait for the next game...
