A few years ago, something mildly embarrassing occurred at a Halloween party hosted by a Washington Post cartoonist: A white woman painted her face black and wore a name tag that read "Hello, My Name is Megyn Kelly," in reference to the TV host's controversial defense of white people wearing blackface. The intended butt of the joke would appear to be Kelly, not black people. Regardless, several guests approached the woman and explained to her that it was still not OK to wear blackface. The woman reportedly left the party in tears. Suffice it to say, this is not a story that needed to be told. Corrections*

Washington Post: no news too trivial to print. No virtue signaling too petty to praise.

This woman needs to sue her former employer. Unfortunately she can’t stop the petty hatefulness of the Post but there should be legal protection for people who lose their jobs because of personal attacks outside the workplace.

Angry, rude virtue signaling isn't virtuous at all. No it is mean and petty and is the equivalent of opening one's mouth to demonstrate one's own stupidity to others. I can't actually remember - was the Post EVER a great paper?

In this article it quotes the Post article as saying that "I was in an environment that, if it got heated, it would decidedly not be in my best interest." So, she was at a party consisting almost entirely of leftists and felt unsafe. She might want to think about what that means and reconsider her loyalty to leftism.

Didn't the Washington Post defend Northam's and Trudeau's blackface incidents?

I'm really tired of the most intolerant people ever, constantly telling me to be tolerant of their feeling or views, or else I'll be hated.

Okay, a question has occurred to me this week thanks to Eddie Murphy the actor. Why is it okay for him to wear white face makeup for his movies, yet democrats howl at the moon over the very idea of a white person wearing black face? This double standard of blacks on the Left makes for interesting hypocrisy.

Virtue signaling (mocking Megan Kelly) backfired bigly.
Curious case of simultaneously being too woke (mocking Megan Kelly) and not woke enough (wearing blackface), AT THE SAME TIME!!!

White liberals may not wear black masks! It's a racist insult to black people. It's almost blackface!

I read the WaPo article, and it was heartening to see that the comments after the article (the ones I read, anyway; there were over 1,000) were all 100% anti-Gruber/Prince. Even among the "woke" readers of the WaPo, publicly humiliating and getting a woman fired (!) is a bridge too far.
