The Atlanta Police Department has released officer bodycam and dashcam video of the events leading up to the fatal shooting of Rayshard Brooks on Friday night.
The footage shows Officers Garrett Rolfe and Devin Brosnan speaking to Brooks for nearly 30 minutes on suspicion of DUI after apparently finding him asleep behind the wheel of his car in the drive-thru line of a Wendy’s restaurant.
Brosnan is seen on video knocking on Brooks' car window and appears to have trouble waking him. He asks if Brooks is all right or needs medical attention. Brooks says he’s OK, before appearing to fall asleep again. Brosnan wakes him a second time

I read that Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms was being vetted by the Biden campaign just 3 days ago so she can kiss that goodbye. She sided with the criminal against the police before all the facts were in and that is proving to be a humongous mistake.

What would the social worker have done? Told Wendy’s to shut down the drivethru until sleeping beauty woke up? If you run from the cops then point something at them in the dark you are going to be shot. They don’t care what race you are. They would not rather be killed by a white person than a black one.

Napping while Black and Jogging while Black are capital crimes in Keisha Lance Bottoms' Black-run Atlanta, which proves there are still Confederate monuments and street signs that need to be destroyed.

And while I'm on a roll Joe (Biden) how about Al Sharpton for VP. I'm pretty sure he's got a wig tucked away somewhere.

Why did he panic and attack the officer? At worst he would have to dry out in the tank and make bail in the morning. What makes people act in such irrational and threatening ways to armed police officers? Did he have prior warrants or some other charge that would have caused him to try to flee from a routine DUI? Are the police supposed to just let him go and drive home intoxicated because he didn't want to be arrested? How does a sane society address these issues and still avoid chaos?

Suppose the now dead guy had just gotten away...so what? Cops had his car, maybe even his burger and fries. Had he cooperated the charge would have been misdemeanor what? Drunk in public? DUI? Disorderly conduct? He was blowing a .10+...he wasn't going far. A few trips around the block the cops would have likely found him in the state he was originally found...passed out.

How to eliminate minority abuse by police officers:
1. Don't do anything that requires police intervention
2. If stopped, do not resist
3. Follow all commands
4. Do it now
Problem solved.

Hpw much airtime would this story have gotten if the perp just co-operated? NONE
How much airtime would this story have gotten if the perp had shot a cop? NOT MUCH.
With the amount of attention that black people get in the news-good, bad, or otherwise-it is just incredible that, after a week of the country tearing itself apart, this freaking idiot pulls a stunt like this. How could he not have known to do this?

@#9 - Unfortunately, a large percentage of black youth from the inner cities have grown up without a competent father in the house who was available to teach their children how to behave in society. Until that begins to occur, all bets are off.

#6, he probably has some warrants on him and knew he would go to prison once they did fingerprints and figured out who he really was. So much of the time these guys are parolees or wanted criminals, and if they get "busted" they go back to prison, so they fight viciously, up to and including deadly force.
Get along and go along as long as they think there is a chance of them not being arrested and figuring out who they really are.

#9, have you seen Chris Rock's video? You and Mr. Rock agree very much, although his language is a bit more "colorful", and he adds a note of humor, of course.

Kind of reminds me of the Palestinian terrorists, who know that if killed or seriously wounded by the "enemy," against whom they engage in unprovoked attacks, they or their family will get a substantial payday. Chances are, since the police did not observe the deceased driving on a public way, if he had not resisted arrest, he would have only faced a misdemeanor Public Intoxication charge instead of a more serious DUI. I'm a bit surprised that the race of the 911 caller was not identified in the article.

Anybody who runs from the police should be shot because statistically, they're up to no good. Only in the movie will they be portrayed as running away for some heroic purpose. If he wasn't shot, Atlanta would've suffered more innocent grief caused by this lowlife. If you cannot obey the rule of the land, you must be prepared to accept the consequences of your behavior.

where are the body cam videos from Minneapolis?? Why haven't the videos been released yet? could it be that the videos would show great violence on the part of the sainted perp??
In the atlanta case, by the way, if the police officer didn't know that the drunken thug had taken his partner'sa taser, it was clearly a justified shooting. It would have been stupid for the police officer not to fire his weapon at the perp.

Bingo, #16, BINGO!
You can be 99% certain that the bodycam videos do NOT support the narrative on the death of Mr. Floyd, or we would have seen them a hundred times a day. I will bet significant money that the bodycam videos are much like these, showing no police misconduct. The autopsy is currently the only factual information in the public realm, and it shows "no external cause of death", no injury whatsoever to the neck or airway systems, and a heart attack and probably drug overdose.
Where are the Minneapolis bodycam videos? Yes, indeed, THAT is a very good question.

I think it doesn't matter what the Body Cam says, the Police officer who shot him has already been FIRED! Add to that I just heard, later this week he will probably be facing a murder charge. If that happens, I would suggest ALL of the other officers on that Police Force should resign in protest. If a police officer is not able to do his job for fear he's going to have his life ruined, why would he want to take the job and take a chance of that happening? Police all over this country need to know the Mayor, Governor and of course Police unions have their Back. It they don't, it's not worth taking the job anymore! Just not worth the risk of going to jail for the rest of your live because you shot some Thug, high on drugs, who pointed a gun at you!

I had the good fortune to go through a police simulator a few years ago and can attest that it is extremely difficult to make life or death decisions in the time given. Having had that experience has given me very strong support for the police when they have to make those judgements for real. When dealing with the police do what they ask and both of you will walk away unharmed.

I'm caring less and less about George Floyd (and feeling less guilty about it) by the day.
This guy? Forget it.

I just heard this evening that the Floyd autopsy was getting inconvenient, so they just decided to rewrite it to say that he was strangled.
Problem solved. Just CHANGE it.
Except is ANYONE going believe this new, fake autopsy result?

Sounds like a fairly ordinary arrest until the perpetrator gets violent and grabs the taser, and runs. Then he whirls and seems to be firing something at the officer....which could have been a gun, since they had not completed the process of cuffing and then searching him for weapons.
He caused this himself. A sad, but legitimate shooting. The officer knows he has a criminal fighting him, and sees him turn and get ready to fire....and has a quarter second to decide.
Run from the police, then whirl around and raise something in your hand as if to fire at them and you will get shot 99% of the time. Especially at night, when it is more difficult to identify the object in hand.
