A&E announced Wednesday that it has canceled Live PD, the popular real-time documentary series that showcased police solving crime across America.
“This is a critical time in our nation’s history and we have made the decision to cease production on Live PD,” A&E said in a statement. “Going forward, we will determine if there is a clear pathway to tell the stories of both the community and the police officers whose role it is to serve them. And with that, we will be meeting with community and civil rights leaders as well as police departments.” [video]

It's remarkable how "woke" companies seem to have a death wish, and continue to find new ways to destroy themselves.

Live PD was my Friday and Saturday night entertainment when bored. It does tend to have a sameness about it after a while. When they find a crack pipe in someone's pocket, the perp's response is "these aren't my pants." When they bust someone for DUI, they'll admit to a beer or two, but not much more, even when they're staggering and incoherent. The show has made me more sympathetic to police for what they have to put up with - trash of all colors, drunks, crazies, idiots, the violent, and just plain stupid. No wonder they get cynical. If that's all I came into contact with, I'd probably want to get as far away from people as I could.

The police departments need to tell them to drop dead!!!!!
The network made a lot of money off of that very popular show. And if this is how they are treating the police, the police don't need to help them at all.
Maybe A&E can do a nice show about all the wonderful people in the inner city. It won't get any ratings and will lose massive amounts of money, but, hey, they will certainly be "woke" (while getting more and more "broke")!!!!!

So, actually seeing what goes on with police officers is no longer acceptable?
Facts and truth MUST BE prevented from being seen.
The less people see actual policing, the more likely they are to believe the lies that the left tells. Can't have any facts interfering with the Fake Narrative.

There is simply no end into which these panderers will twist themselves into pretzel shapes to please the impossible to please braying mob.
Always looking for breasts on an ant.
Not happy when they get what they want and not happy when they don't.
The thing I don't understand is why they stay in America. There are thousand of possible 3rd world utopias that are more suited to their political views and proclivities.

I LOVE this show. Wish I had lot of money. I would start a station that showed all the shows that I like. Oprah would not be one of those shows. neither would Anderson coopers lies.
I also do not understand why the people who do not like this country, move get out out. Leave this country alone. Go move to canada, or brazil. JUST LEAVE

The show never really did it for me but I know a couple of people that really like it. They had better not touch The First 48, which should be required viewing for anyone who has any concern for minority youth in our country.

Good show, gives insight into some real problems in our society. Good opportunity for another network to pick it up.

A&E cancels Live PD? Cancel A&E.

What does that even mean? This is just more leftist nonsense. Its clear that lefties have control of our cable TV networks. The only police show they will run in the future will be a PC police TV show.

The heads of these networks have no stones. Live PD shows how the departments work together to protect the communities they serve. The First 48 will be next. First 48 exposes the serious, serious problem of black on black crime. Young African American men are killing each other at an alarming rate. That doesn't help BLM.

#2,
While I agree for the most part about how "routine" things can get on the program, you may want to review the following, it's from the second season I believe....this is a powerful reminder of why these men and women MUST be so cautious during their entire shift....5:32 long...viewer discretion is advised.

ID Discovery might as well close up shop. Most of their stalkers, murderers and rapists turn out to be members of that peaceful, misunderstood demographic. Very often it involves stupid white girls who want to prove how much they hate their fathers.

#4 I think the issue is anyone promoting the idea that police are real people or that they sometimes have valid reasons for being less than polite to the people they deal with is verboten. Humanizing violent criminals (ala Sopranos), good; humanizing cops (ala Live PD), bad. Cultivating the simple principle of Left, good; Right, bad.
Now we see that it wasn't just entertainment, but grooming, as we start to reap that harvest.
