President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he has no choice but to move the 2020 Republican National Convention from Charlotte after North Carolina Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper advised the Republican Party that it would need to plan for a “scaled-down” convention to protect the health of its participants.
RNC officials are now considering moving the convention to a venue in Nashville, Las Vegas, Orlando, Jacksonville or one of multiple locations in Georgia, according to CNN.
Multiple health experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation that it would be foolish for the party to commit to bringing 19,000 dignitaries together in an enclosed arena anywhere in the country,

Left wing "public health experts". Republicans are going to hold their convention and the Democrats are not going to be able to stop that. By the way, we did not form this republic to protect our liberty and property in order to surrender it to experts. Thank you for recognizing that.

Are these the same "public health experts" who signed the letter giving protestors immunity from COVID19 so they can violate the faux "social distancing" and mask directives? I spit in their general direction...

Sorry, but the looters, rioters and other "peaceful protestors" are living proof that hussien has cured the virus.
Ole democrat DeWine was asked to have the convention in Cleveland. democrat dewine said no. cause of the virus. what a crock.

Didn't Trump have some massive rallies in late February and early March? We know now that the virus had already arrived in this country in at least mid-February if not earlier. Are all of those who attended, you know, the fat, old, toothless white people with all the comorbidities, dead now? Everything in the past 5 months does not compute. Can we go back and have a redo of New Years Eve?

We can allow over a week of mass public protest, looting and riots but we can't allow Rebublicans to have a convention. Public Health workers are everything we have come to expect form years of goobernment employment.

I really do not think these folks have any standing to condemn anyone. Where to they stand on the large crowds of protesters and looters --- oh yeah a bunch of them do have masks on.

OP---Jacksonville, Fl is a good choice but....given all that has happened in the mainstream media to degrade and diminish Heartland America , consideration ought to be given to Branson, Missouri as the site of the 2020 GOP Convention.
The symbolism of the GOP convention in Branson---THE heart of Trumpland ---will make the MSM media heads spin .

They just don’t want the optics of a huge crowd cheering the president. If there is a convention, how many of the enemedia will actually cover it?

Public Health Experts, that's funny. Trump stops flights from China at the end of January, at the end of February, Fauci, a Public Health Expert, said the risk of the virus coming here was low, no need to change what you're doing.

Beginning today, and continuing for five days, there will be thousands in the streets honoring George Floyd. So, I don't see where anyone gets off telling Trump he can't have his convention. I think FL is a great place to have it! I live in FL, so I'm think my state is as good as any to reap the benefits of having thousands come here! I will watch it on TV! I think Trump was smart to move his convention. Gov DeSantis will be happy to work with The President and his people!

They shouldn't call it a Pubbie Convention.
They should call it a George Floyd Memorial - - then it would be OK.

Shouldn't the Left WANT Trump and the GOP to have their convention? Assuming the virus hysteria is not just a huge hoax, a mass gathering of the GOP should spread disease and death through the party, increasing the margin of victory Dems are crafting through mail-in ballot harvesting.
But if there is a convention, its attendees do not experience a spike in viral deaths, and the networks don't refuse to cover it, the public might witness that the virus thing was overblown, as was the supposedly huge unpopularity of PDJT after his first term. It might cause their current house of cards to collapse.

They haven't caught up with the rest of the people in this country that know it's over. The thing has passed and the massive shut down and closure of the world is not necessary any longer. Enter at your own risk is the buzz for the day. Take your chances. In the words of the immortal Alfred E. Neuman... "What, me worry?".

you people may be missing something here.
the DNC doesn't want a dimocrat convention. If they have to eliminate Old Jo - a strong possibility - they also don't want to select bernie Sanders, and his bros would protest and riot at a regular convention, should they pass over Bernie. (that's almost a pun).
By having a remote convention, they can pull the plug on Bernie's bros, who do not want to go away quietly the way they did in 2016.
This mess works in favor of Tom Perez and his gang. and it would be fully supported by the media, who would turn their cameras away from Bernie's bros.
