Two years ago, then-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein chafed when asked whether congressional Republicans might have legitimate reason to suspect the factual underpinnings of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants that targeted Trump campaign adviser Carter Page in the Russia probe.
Seeming a bit perturbed, Rosenstein launched into a mini-lecture on how much care and work went into FISA applications at the FBI and Justice Department.
"There's a lot of talk about FISA applications. Many people I've seen talk about it seem not to recognize that a FISA application is actually a warrant, just like a search warrant.

Rosenstein will easily slough off these questions. We need a seasoned prosecutor that has read through all the evidence, and knows the answers to the questions he asks, to question Rosenstein. Rosenstein is smart, know the rules, and how to evade. We need someone that also knows the rules, and knows what happened, to deal with Rosenstein. Rosenstein was talking with Mueller immediately after Comey was fired. Rosenstein took Mueller to the WH to set up Trump. The 3rd scope memo has not been released. There are many more than 10 questions that should be asked of Rosenstein.

I’ve was watching the hearing on Fox News. The Republicans are performing adequately. Ted Cruz did a great job pointing out Rosenstein’s incompetency and more importantly noting that the entire outrage began and proceeded with Obama’s knowledge if not direction.
I will say that Fox News’s coverage has been less than ideal. During the portion I watched the questioning by Democrat senators was shown with no interruption. When it was Senator Lee’s (R-UT) turn Fox cut to commercial. After Amy Klobuchar’s irrelevant comments Fox cut off Senator Josh Hawley, a strong Trump supporter, completely so their panel of experts could inform the viewers what they just saw and heard.

I always go right to C-Span when these Hearings take place. I hate it when FOX decides to shut off coverage so that they can have their "Panel" tell us what THEY think just took place. I think I can figure that out myself, without any help from them! I resent missing parts of the Hearing, so I simply watch everything on C-Span and it keeps my Blood Pressure down! I watch less and less of FOX these days because they make these stupid decisions all the time!

I saw part of Rosie's hearing with the Committee. Sens. Graham and Cornyn really tore into Rosie. The impression I got from Rosie's statements and body language is that he claimed to rely on others as basis for approving any warrants or making any key decisions. His "I do not believe that..." or "I do not recall that..." statements were very suspect. He did not take the 5th from what I saw. I sensed that he knows a lot more than he is telling and only told Graham and Cornyn enough to be responsive to their questions. He was quaking in his shoes at times trying not to reveal anything beyond what was asked in the questions.

That is Rod "Rubber Stamp" Rosenstein Mr. Solomon. He doesn't read the documents, he just signs off on them, you know because it is all Comey's fault.

The biggest threat Rosenstein faces now is not the Senate investigation, per se, but instead what HE says in response to questions. Rosenstein BSed his way through things when there was no documents available to contradict him. Now, there are, and there are more to come. He is going to be listened to very carefully and if he lies under oath, the jaws of a trap are going to close around him. Besides the documents, Durham has been talking to a lot of people. If Rosenstein lies, or even exaggerates, he is going to be facing significant questioning and difficulties. As we have been vividly reminded, lying to the FBI is illegal and everything he is going to be questioned about IS material.
In sum, Rosenstein is surrounded by alligators, some he can't even see. If he puts a foot wrong, it might get bitten off.
It's hard to be sure if Rosenstein was a principal in what happened but it is clear that he did nothing to hinder it either and even aided in the illegal process.

He'll just lie some more. He needs to be in prison. A major leader of the coup attempt.

ABOLISH the whole FISA system. Kill it and burn it and toss the ashes into an active volcano.
Do likewise to FBI, DEA, ATF. and several more. NONE have legitimate existence under our Constitution AS WRITTEN. Staffed by would-be NKVD types and their enablers.
If some of the "apparatchiks" fall into that volcano, oh well.

Rosenstein and his lawyer would be wise to meet with Mr Durham and see what deal he can cut.
