Black Entertainment Television founder Robert Johnson elaborated on his call for the payment of $14 trillion in reparations to African-Americans Monday on "Special Report."
Johnson told host Bret Baier that Americans must look at the passing of time in "total context."
"Part of that context is people have a right to protest when they see injustice. That goes all the way back to Dr. Martin Luther King," he said. "But on the other hand, we have to go to the root cause of people's protesting that leads to violence, whether it is agitated violence or just violence because people feel frustrated and bitter."

I'm a slave to love. Where's my reparations?
On a serious note, the Ottomans forced my ancestors into slavery for centuries in southeastern Europe. One of my ancestors was a leader of a movement to rid Europe of these militants. So do I deserve reparations from the nation of Turkey? If I do, then I'll give my share to the Armenians who were mass-murdered and stripped of their property.

I agree. Every living former US slave should get generous compensation, paid for by every living former slave owner. Then everyone will be happy and not so uppity.

Hey Bob - it’s call 55 years of welfare, minority grants, special scholarships and other entitlements. Are those not also reparations?

Dear Mr. Johnson....Since its inception, welfare related programs have cost this country in excess of $22 TRILLION. You already received your $14 Trillion and then some, and what has it gotten us/you? Nothing except misery, broken families and dependence on a Democrat party that doesn't care about anything but your deluded vote. You've had your reparations....No more.

I agree. Fourteen Trillion sounds about right. And let the Brits pay it since bringing slaves over here was their idea because they were too lazy, feeble, incompetent, cheap (pick your favorite adjective) to work their crops.

Morally speaking, demand for reparation is no different than the protection racket mobsters employ against storekeepers.

First the riots, now the shakedown. "Nice country you have hear. It would be a shame if something happened to it."
We should respond as if a foreign enemy has attacked our Country because it has. We have harbored the infection for decades and it wears the face of many races but it's goal is the destruction of this Country and it needs to be confronted and eradicated.

The lucky recipients of the reparations will blow through the dough in months and we'll be back to where we are today, asking for more. It's a really stupid idea.

Bob Johnson could do the entire African-American community a great service by telling them, as a black man himself, how to make a billion dollars.
That achieves a lot of good and saves the taxpayers a lot of money.

Hell with that! think blacks should pay reparations to the whites for all the money we've spent on them the past hundred years and still the vast majority of them are still depend on welfare. Enough is enough!

If lotto history is any guide, a sizable percentage of the recipients would be bankrupt, hopelessly addicted or dead of overdoses when the money ran out. For some people, there is never enough money.

ironic, coming from, a man wqho made his billions by demeaning black culture - contaminating it with BET, rap, selling overpriced products and services helping to insure that his black brothers and sisters would be unable to accumulate assets.

So the $26 TRILLION already handed out in entitlements over the last 55 years wasn’t enough? And this from a guy who was so oppressed that he’s a billionaire. How about YOU, Johnson, pay some reparations since this country has been so unbelievably good to you!

might be worth it, but with one stipulation anyone accepting the reparaton would be required to leave the country, giving up any right to return after all, if their ancesters had not been brought here as slaves, they would not have been born here, if they had been born at all can't have it both ways can't have it all

Dear Robert Johnson:
Repatriation to your ancestral home is more cost-effective than reparations, and should make you happy! Your homecoming, to the people who sold your ancestors into slavery, would be special!

Like the old southern democrat plantation owner would say if he could return, "if I would have known it would come to this I would have picked my own cotton". This is tiring I have to pay for something I had nothing to do with.

We will end up having to pay "reparations" FOREVER. I never owned a slave, nor has my father, grandfather, great grandfather or great great grandfathers. In fact, my Mom's parents came from Poland. I have NEVER deprived ANYONE of a job, of their freedoms or of their right to a quiet life. Why should I have to pay ANYONE for ANYTHING?

The people who were slaves have been gone for a century. The people who did it have been gone for probably MORE than a century. Slavery ended almost two centuries ago.
Give it a rest. This is NOT going to happen. This is pure, unadulterated BS.
And by the way - if you imagine that these people were given a million dollars each ---
1) it would be all gone and things back as they are now in under two years
2) they would be asking for "more reparations" immediately thereafter. It would be a NEVER ENDING
scam.
NO!

You've had slave reparations before, dolt... it was called LBJ's "War on Poverty." It didn't work in the 1960's and it won't work now. Six generations of welfare babies, while Asians and other races came to this nation and made something of themselves. Continuous black victim mentality is all the left preaches. Disgusting.
I worked with a Sergeant in the Army before I got out who was THE hardest working man I've ever known... and he had 5 boys, whom he worked just as hard as himself. His example was laudatory.

Well Bob, let's talk about this. First, you were never a slave and I have never been a slave owner. But, if this comes to pass, I want my ancestors to be compensated for room and board, food, medical care, and education. Then there are the ones in the Colored Army who bore our name. I am going to need some money for horses, rifles, uniforms, and their food. Then there are the ones who got on a ship in the islands and we took them to England and Germany. Should I keep going ? They all became stinking wealthy.
