Virginia man charged with
aiding terror group al-Shabaab

A Virginia man who fled the country in 2012 and was suspected of trying to recruit men to join the terrorist group al-Shabaab was indicted in a federal court on a charge of conspiring to provide material support to the terrorist group based in Somalia, prosecutors said. Liban Haji Mohamed of Alexandria, Virginia, is a Somali-born naturalised American citizen who drove a cab in northern Virginia. He first came to the FBI's attention in 2010 with the arrest of Zachary Adam Chesser, at the time a 20-year-old Virginian who became enthralled with extremist Islamist views as a young man

Sure, Somali refugees stay true to their Muslim roots and want to kill us, but can you imagine the cost of a cab ride in Alexandria if they had to hire US citizens to do the driving?

New Jersey’s response to the pandemic inside nursing homes was “an unmitigated failure” that led to “preventable deaths,” a group of anonymous health department employees charged in a letter to lawmakers Monday. Moreover, the administration “is making things up as they proceed” in order to reopen the economy, the writers also allege. The letter, sent to Senate President Stephen Sweeney, D-Gloucester, and Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean Jr., R-Union and obtained by NJ Advance Media, also calls for the resignation of Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli and an investigation into other top administration officials who they said have mishandled the state’s response.

Sen. Lindsey Graham on Tuesday questioned how much blame should be directed at Antifa for the violent protests and looting in the wake of George Floyd’s death in police custody. Mr. Graham, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Antifa has played “a part” in the civil unrest. But the South Carolina Republican noted that rioting and looting happened during protests long before the militant anti-fascist group became a movement. “We will try to find out how organized this violence is,” Mr. Graham said. “But I am old enough to remember 1968, and Antifa was not around in 1968, that I know of.”

Disturbing footage shows swarms of looters rushing into one of the world’s most famous stores—Macy’s flagship on Herald Square—as Midtown descended into chaos overnight. One overhead video showed looters racing into one of the boarded-up entrances shortly before the curfew started Monday night—with only a small unexplained explosion seeming to halt the rush. Other clips showed a steady stream of cops finally arriving to follow the looters inside the Manhattan superstore on 34th Street, which had been boarded up in a futile attempt to protect it from potential attack. “Hundreds of looters and rioters here with absolutely no concerns about cops

Pallets of bricks have 'randomly' appeared during protests across the US this weekend, sparking theories they were planted to stoke violence. Those taking part in demonstrations against police brutality have reported finding large stashes of the makeshift weapons on streets. Videos from New York City, Kansas City, Dallas and Fayetteville in North Carolina all appear to show piles of bricks unattended in the middle of protests. The footage has led to suggestions the slabs were either planted by police or by extremists to overshadow peaceful protests following the death of George Floyd, a black man who pleaded for air as an officer
