Coronavirus is so 'perfectly adapted' to infect humans that the possibility it was made in a Chinese lab can't be ignored, Australian vaccine researchers conclude. Professor Nikolai Petrovsky said the virus was better at attaching itself to human cells than to any other animal, explaining why it has infected five million people. The vaccine expert warned the investigation into where COVID-19 started, as proposed by Prime Minister Scott Morrison, was as a result urgently needed and should have begun months ago.(Snip) Furthermore, viruses tend to get better at infecting new species as they adapt over time, but COVID-19 started 'completely optimised

Sorry but I don't believe in 'flukes of nature', or evolution, or honest Chinese, or 'honest' reporters....

Time for a Great Wall around China. Nothing in, nothing out.
What a rotten bunch of slimy scoundrels. So they think they are better than we are?
Fine.
Let them go their own way. No more investment. No more Apple products. No more imports or exports. Make a clean break.
Pure evil.

President Trump theorized the coronavirus may have originated in a lab, IIRC. So it stands to reason and accountability lots of journalists will be walking back their criticisms of the theory.

Didn't the CDC recently say that couldn't be true that it was man made? Hmmmm? I wonder why they said that? Dueling experts is a fun game. Let's up the stakes. If you're wrong, you get to be the next test subject for an unknown pathogen. Unfair? That's what they have done to all the people in the world. We pay the price for their errors.

#5, President Trump said he had seen evidence that the (Kung Flu) virus 'came from the lab.'
He sometimes speaks imprecisely, and this may have been one of those times.
the virus, which lives in some kinds of bats, was being studied at the Wuhan Virology Lab, funded by the U.S., i9ronically enough.
It might have accidentally escaped on the body of a researcher. (Opening sequence of the Simpsons comes to mind, where Homer
accidentally puts radioactive material on his collar comes to mind.).
It might have escaped because a worker at the lab took dead bats and sold them at the wet market, instead of burning the bat carcasses.
It might have been a genetic goof up by the scientists.
However it happened, it would be nice to know the truth.

"Complete flukes of nature" happen with boring regularity. Sorry, this is NOT proof. I do not buy that this is a modified virus.
This bat flu uses RNA, a single strand of genetic material, which means it is without a back up copy, so it accumulates errors unimaginably faster than any creature/virus using DNA's double stranded (auto repaired) genetic material does. So RNA viruses like COVID-19 just 'drift', randomly change due to damage and errors in transcription. Even if 99.999% of these changes are benign or even harmful to the virus, every once in a while.....bingo, the "fluke of nature" occurs.
China "creates" many new human influenza viruses EVERY SINGLE year because of their medieval living conditions where people, pigs and chickens and/or ducks live under the same roof. The mix of all those feces, eaten and recycled in this gross menagerie lets swine and human and avian viruses just mix and match until something "works" (in a bad way), billions of viruses oozing around in the muck on the floors in millions of individual barn-homes, and eventually some of the virus fragments click together and 'off to the races', a new variation of human influenza is born. And we, in the West, struggle each year to guess which of the multiple new strains developing in China will become dominant in the USA, and rapidly make a new vaccine for it in huge quantities, and distribute it. THAT is a great reason to "thank China".

Have thought this was intentional from the start. To convenient, timed a bit to well for maximum effect and best of all easiest to deny in one way
or another ( accident, mistake or simply unintentional, rogue scientist, back yard lab, sloppy procedures, pick one or more ).
We have, IMHO been 'at war' with the Chinese government for years, this is nothing new. It was, for a long time, an economic war of sorts, untold millions of dollars for almost identical items that were MUCH cheaper than those produced here and elsewhere leading to a trade imbalance. Then, since military action is fraught with risks and dangers - you just might not win the battle or war - then how about economic chaos instigated and maintained by a fear of something that people have NO CONTROL over at all. A contageous disease or an infection that spreads quickly affecting only humans, as far as we know or have been told. This will cripple industry, the farm to market chain & distribution, businesses at ALL levels due to supposedly necessary isolation, etc. and can be kept up long enough through fear, and the cooperation of the MSM to completely destroy the economy of the United States. There will of course be some collateral damage, so what. We may affect our own economy to some degree, again, so what.
It will accomplish quicker and more completely what cannot otherwise be accomplished any other way and put China where it has long belonged - at the top of the economic and military heap where it belongs and prove to the world that socialism is better for everyone !! Just sayin'

It's possible COVID19 was among the ANCIENT VIRUSES researchers in China reported finding in Ice Cores donated to various laboratories around the planet.
Could be it wasn't just the Sabre Tooth Tigers and Mastadons that kept humans out of the Chinese lowlands in the last Ice Age glacial advance ~ could have been something worse than a light head-cold in the mix, and BTW, the possibility a virus wiped out the Pleistocene mega fauna at the time of the Younger Dryas rears it's ugly prospects.
Instead of checking out bats and pangolins maybe they should find out if it kills camels, elephants and lions!

We know that somebody made this virus. What we cannot prove is that somebody did this and then released it on purpose.

I bet if you look close enough at the virus thru an electron microscope you be able to see the manufacturer's serial number.

Is there any evidence or proof to back up these assertions? If not, its just another scientist running their mouth. Lot of that going around lately. Not ruling out that China created CV19, but we should only accept this assertion if there is proof.

Isn't every natural adaptation a fluke of nature?
Granted, whether deliberate or accidental, China did have a role in this and is culpable for needless deaths in either case by hiding its outbreak. But would it really be such a 'fluke' if the same Petri dish that produced several other naturally-occurring pandemics in the past produced yet another one?
I agree with #11 that this article is not proof of a man-made virus, although I suspect Chinese researchers may well have tried to weaponize it.

I guess these guys didn't get God Emperor Fauci's memo that China must be exonerated of all evil doing.
Yes, from what I have seen I do believe this virus was isolated from a bat species that lives nowhere near Wuhan for the express purpose of researching mutations, maybe for nefarious reason or maybe just for purely epidemiological research. They shifted this bug through dozens of generations of ferrets or cats probably simply by infected them and then selecting for the most virulent strains and kept on until they got to this virus mutation. I doubt this virus was their end game regardless of motivation since we have seen this bug while deadly to the vulnerable seems mostly benign in healthy populations. Somehow it got free, probably through sloppy lab work and now the world is paying the price.
Thanks China.

Statistics and genomes don't lie.
People hold that the THEORY of evolution says humans came from apes. Chimpanzees have 98% of the same arrangements of genes and chromosomes, but they cannot do what humans can do with the same skill. While there IS 'natural selection' within species, there is not possibility that a species can change into another species. The 2% difference makes all the difference!
The Corona virus is 96% similar to a SARS virus found in bats which are mammals, but only 90% similar to the animals called pangolins which are eaten at the Wuhan wet market.
The amazing way the spikes attach to the ACE receptors like few other germs, makes it pretty unique, like it was manufactured with recombinant RNA or DNA, and therefore, likely a CREATED bioweapon.
The scientists at the Wuhan lab have published papers in professional journals of medicine about some of the work done there, and Dr. Fouci has OUTSOURCED a lot of work to them in the past.
With that evidence in hand, draw your own conclusions!

Kind of cute that way the researchers always add the caveat "accidentally" to describe the release event.
