In 2020, be more skeptical than ever of polls

A recent spate of mostly bad polls for President Trump has driven a narrative that he’s on his way out. Pundits have declared his reelection in “deep trouble,” and they have highlighted polls showing him “hemorrhaging older voters.” Even Republicans in swing states have raised alarms about how vulnerable Trump is to defeat. But in 2020, as the coronavirus pandemic rips through the world, the uncertainty is so great that it’s sillier than ever to read so much into polls this far out from the election.
To be clear, we aren’t attempting to ignore the polls that clearly show Trump’s risk of defeat.

The few times I have been polled, I gave deliberately wrong answers. How I'm voting is no one's business but mine.

The polls are always rigged. First of all we must know if a poll was really taken and if so who paid for them.
Most of the polls I have seen recently show Biden beating Trump. It just doesn't make sense that there are that many dumb dims to come up with those numbers. A person would have to be as crazy as Biden to believe any of them.

Same old same old baloney...HIllary was a 'shoo in' according to the polls, but got her butt kicked by Trump...I don't believe polls, never have, and never will...the only poll that counts is the vote tally during an election...long as the democraps don't stuff the ballot boxes with multiple votes, illegals, and dead voters...

I must have missed all those "alarms."

I think the republicans just flipped 2 house seats in California and 1 seat in Virginia that have been democrat for a long time. Elections like this are usually won on the president's "coattails" when he is popular.

Polls are meaningless political tools use to shape opinion, not to measure it. They are traditionally heavily weighted with Democrats for that reason. Internal campaign polling is more accurate but never publicized. That is why, with every poll favoring Biden, the Democrats are still in a panic.

Polls are worthless. Instead consider the situation.
Trump is in charge of a united party. He has a long list of accomplishments. Doubts about his Conservatism have been erased. Enthusiasm is high with Trump voters. The government is not actively spying on or colluding against Trump. Trump's political outreach capability is in place and spectacular. Overall, Trump is in a much stronger position than 2016.
Dems are a fractured party. Their candidate, Biden, is seemingly senile and blows off verbal gaffes regularly. He just alienated Black voters. Biden has a #MeToo problem. The "accomplishments" of BO and Biden's administration were ephemeral and few and their incompetence is obvious. The government is about to drop indictments and a YUGE scandal on BO & Biden. The dem party is enervated. Minorities and women are peeling off from the dem party. Youth are not enthused about a party pushing a near octogenarian. Biden's organization can't manage to broadcast Joe from his basement. The dem's propaganda media is in a tailspin and their key leaders are a collection of fools and incompetents who have no interest in the Country and her People but only their political motives. Overall, Biden is in a much weaker position than Hillary in 2016.
Reason it out.
Yeah, the virus is a factor. But mostly, people seem OK with Trump trying to make the best of a bad situation. You can question some of the actions he took but he is the obvious person to lead us out of the mess.
Biden in charge? Get serious.

Okay, you receive a phone call from 'AJD Polling Company' and agree to take the poll.
Question: Do you agree with President Trumps policies?
You answer: Absolutely.
Pollster checks off the 'NO' box.
Question: Will you vote for President Trump in November?
Answer: YES
Pollster checks the 'NO' box on his little form.
And own and own and own....
Who says the pollsters taking these polls aren't full-blown Trump-hating, leftwing moonbats? You'll NEVER know what boxes he checks when you answer. Never trust or believe polls.

Polls in 1948 had Dewey defeating Truman handily. Well, that didn't turn out so well! I was just a kid then, but it taught me not to believe in polls.

Of all the people I know that voted for Trump in 2016 not a single one of them has changed their mind about voting for him in 2020. Where do they get this crap?

I pay more attention to what is going on in the Country. The fact that FIVE Democrats lost their Seats in VA, and that a Republican won a Seat in CA tell me more than any fake FOX Polls. As soon as Trump can get a Rally in place, I think we will see the same energy for him as before the Pandemic. Republicans are smart enough to know Trump did everything he could to save lives. He also has done everything possible to get this country up and running again. So, when the Fake Pollsters heavily weigh the Democrats when questioning voters, I will ignore them. I think ANY smart person can see that Biden is barely able to stand up by himself, barely able to answer a question when the answer is written out where he can read it and barely knows what day it is, it's telling. He is weak and most likely has Dementia. I'm older than he is and I'm way more alert. I can even drive! I would bet they would never let Joe drive. They probably would never see him again as he wouldn't be able to find his way home! So, don't tell me the majority of people in this want someone like him running our country! I don't buy it!

One look at the Corona-19 map color coded res and blue, has convinced many Americans not to live under Government rule anymore. The Dem Governors state shutdowns, along with police state responses to violations of the edicts, will sway many voters to vote Republican. Heck, many will flee these States altogether.

They had the same problem in the UK, where Conservatives were always under polling. So they instituted a question "How do you think your neighbors will be voting?" The answer always was - Conservative. Once that was factored in the results were much closer.

Can't trust 'em. Typically:
1. The poll questions are slanted, sly traps to push your opinion. ("Do you think Pres. Trump has done everything possible to prevent Covid 19 deaths?"
2. Polls over-sample dems by 15-20%, even in states/districts that have 10-15% more Republicans.
3. Polls are of "registered voters" rather than "likely voters." Many more registered dems fail to vote than registered Republicans.
4. Most polls telephone landline numbers, not cell phone numbers. This reaches more welfare cases and old folks who want to talk on the phone. Busily employed folks don't pick up as many calls from "unknown callers."

I have become so skeptical. I have read about how fraudulent newspapers were in 1880-1920 period. I doubt there is anything unique to that period.
Today’s media is like a con man who says he can extract gold from water and insists that the glass of water and the spec of gold are proof of his claims. Unnamed sources confirm his alibi.
So no, I don’t believe anything about these polls. I believe it must be nice to be a crook in charge of making the rules, like nasty pelousey.

A state poll, conducted here in Florida, asked all the relevant questions about the virus, opening the state, etc. A final question was: ''What do you consider to be the biggest threat to Florida?'' I answered ''democrats!''

I just don't have the time to answer poll questions that start with, "when did you stop beating your wife"? I know it's going to be bogus.
As long as the left keep believing Biden is their man I'm happy.

Agree with #16. In addition, one of the polls I recently saw was of "people," not even "registered voters." Biden was ahead, but not by huge numbers. No telling who or what they were polling.
in 2016, we were told that it wasn't even a contest, that Sack of Spuds Hillary had it in the bag. Someone knew something, otherwise, Obama and his minions wouldn't have been spying on and trying to set up the Trump campaign.

The polls "were certain" that candidate Trump "had no path to the White House" - it was "totally impossible".
I didn't trust polls much before the 2016 campaign, and I trust them FAR less today, to the point of totally dismissing them, assuming that the real situation is that Trump is up 8-20% over the polls' numbers.

In 1980, there was just one presidential debate, and Carter had said the third party candidate, John Anderson, could not participate unless he polled at least 10 per cent in one of the polls.
The Harris Poll promptly came up with the required 10 per cent.

Usually I'm polled a lot. Maybe because I'm one of the few in my age demographic with a land line that can still remember how to use a telephone. About a month ago I was polled by CNN. Boy, did they get the wrong number! That was the first and last time they called me. I suspect that they poll early so they can claim a representative sampling, then cull their list to get the results they want.

They want fake polls to provide cover for their likely fraud in November. If they manage to successfully steal the election (and they have an excellent chance of doing so), the so-called "polls" will enable them to say, "Why, of course our person won. The country clearly didn't want President Trump to have a second term, just look at the polls!".
It's a fig leaf, a cover story. Republicans must be very, very careful, and turn out to vote in colossal numbers.

The fact of the matter is that Conservatives don't answer polls accurately if they answer them at all, thanks to the rabid leftists and their cancel culture and online doxing of those who hold a different political view than they do. I, personally, do not answer polls, either in person or when recieved in the mail or on my phone. I prefer my car unscratched, my house windows unbroken and my family members both unharrassed and gainfully employed!!
