Just when you thought the Gen. Flynn case couldn’t get any more weird.
Let’s briefly recap the madness:
The FBI conducts a counter-intelligence investigation of Gen. Flynn to determine if he’s a Russian agent, and finds after almost five months there is “no derogatory information” on him.
James Comey decides he wants agents to interview Gen. Flynn about phone calls with the Russian Ambassador — not regular Special Agents though, he sends a Supervisor and an Deputy Assistant Director.
James Comey says even though Gen. Flynn wasn’t truthful with Agents, he did not think Gen. Flynn would face any criminal charges.
James Comey gets fired by Pres. Trump, and Rod Rosenstein names Robert Mueller

Because the author meticulously takes the reader through what has transpired to date in the Flynn matter - and to point up the madness of what Judge Sullivan has been up to - it took a while for him to get to this, found a number of paragraphs down:
Judge Sullivan has hired the very experienced and very well know Washington DC criminal defense attorney Beth Wilkinson to “represent” him in connection with the Circuit Court order, although it remains an open question whether the Circuit Court will accept or hear anything from her on Judge Sullivan’s behalf. Their order was specific as to him, he’s not a “party” represented by counsel, and if Judge Sullivan is not capable of answering a question about the application of a Rule of Criminal Procedure, the Appeals Court might want to take up the question of Judge Sullivan’s fitness to serve as a district court judge since understanding and applying the Rules of Procedure is kind of a basic job requirement for the position.
The Circuit Court wants HIM, Judge Sullivan, to respond and tell them what he was thinking…. not some highpowered DC criminal lawyer.

Is Sullivan incapable of writing a response to the Circuit Court without help from a "high powered" attorney? Is he such an affirmative action loser that he can't come up with some sort of an explanation?
It seems clearer each step of the way that this judge needs to be removed from the bench for incompetence and extreme bias.

Who is paying for this high powered lawyer Beth Wilkinson...Judge Sullivan? Seems fairly unlikely that Sullivan would pay for a high priced lawyer to defend Sullivan's authority in a case Sullivan is the judge for. If he is he is one wealthy and conflicted dude.

Mark Wauck (retired FBI special agent) questions the “supporters” whom Shipwreckedcrew theorizes advised Judge Sullivan to lawyer up with a Wilkinson:
Not by his clerks, or his wife. By "supporters." Is a judge supposed to have "supporters" advising him on how to manage a case? I think not. Yet at the same time I think every judge and lawyer in DC knows who those "supporters" were--former federal judge and lawfare style prosecutor John Gleeson and the other likeminded attorneys who have been publishing strongly partisan op-ed pieces in the WaPo. And now it appears that Sullivan is leaking to the WaPo his intentions.
In such a situation, how possible is it anymore to try to return to normal, without addressing the attempted usurpation by Sullivan of properly executive decisions? If Sullivan isn't reined in in no uncertain terms, is it only a matter of time before more "resistance" judges--"resistance" because there are, we hear on the best authority, no "Obama" judges--begin tying up the courts with similar ploys? Are there even enough "honest liberals" remaining to hold the line somewhere, at some mutually and societally acceptable notion of the proper judicial function? Recent partisan attacks on AG Barr suggest otherwise. It seems that the higher courts need to find a way to step in to restore order.

IMO There is something deeper here than ego and/or bias.
The judge must fear some illicit exposure of his own or he's protecting someone else. His actions seem desperate.

When LTG Flynn's case is dismissed, he will finally be able to help Trump dig up the bodies so poorly buried by the obama administration and holdovers in the swamp. Flynn knows where to look. It seems that Sullivan, potentially for the swamp, is desperate to deny Flynn the ability to begin. Unless Sullivan is personally connected to some of the bodies through his connections with the FISA court, honestly, that's the only other rational reason for his first bizarre, then unprecedented moves in refusing to dismiss this case.

Algonquin J. Sullivan has asked for legal advice from the Mystic Knights Of The Sea. It's leader - - George "Kingfish" Stevens was quoted as saying - - "Hmmm - - now let me cogitate about dat, Andy."
He has until June 1 to finish his cogitations.

There is another reason why Judge Sullivan hired, or someone else hired this new “high powered” lawyer in Sullivan’s behalf, that is to further delay the judicial resolution of the Michael Flynn matter.
As a new lawyer defending Sullivan, chances are the next step will be for the new lawyer to file a motion with the Court of Appeals, asking for a delay until she has the time to completely familiarize herself with the complex Flynn matter that could take months, maybe even past the election, hoping that Biden is elected putting the same partisan Democrats who persecuted Flynn in the first place back in charge of the Justice Department.
Clearly Sullivan has taken a highly partisan adversarial and political slant in the Flynn matter. So the Appeals Court should end the Flynn fiasco as soon as possible based upon controlling legal precedent after June 1 by ordering Sullivan to dismiss the bogus charge against Flynn.
Remember Flynn has not made one public statement since he was interviewed by the FBI a couple of days after President Trump was inaugurated, and it is clear that Barack Obama, his crew, the Democrats in general, and the involved FBI super bureaucrats past and present, certainly do not want Flynn out there with all charges against him dropped, publicly speaking out during the run up to the November election telling the American people how he was set-up by Obama, his partisan Democrat crew, and the FBI to knock him out of his Trump National Security Advisor position and then to criminally persecute him for political purposes. One thing looks certain in the moment, Sullivan has backed himself into a corner!

Sullivan has not been charged with a crime and therefore, has not been read his Miranda rights. The Court should compel him to testify immediately or face contempt charges. Maybe sitting in a jail cell will change his mind.

It's pretty common when prosecutors drop the charges. Why all the resistance? Why is the judge risking his reputation?

She's the lawyer who got each of Hillary's assistants total immunity during the email scandal, even tho not one of them was made to testify about anything she knew!
That's pretty good.

Did this new lawyer represent Kavanaugh or the liars accusing Kavanaugh? I've read both ways. I suspect it was the latter, because our RAT infested media whores usually mess up simple facts.

The Curious Case of the General, the Government, and the Judge.
This article points out something that I had wondered about. Sullivan has it out for Flynn. Maybe because BO does and someone has spoken to Sullivan about it? The derogatory remarks that Sullivan has made are reckless, not the measured responses of a seasoned judge. Further, the government has mocked Sullivan's court by not producing required evidence but Sullivan doesn't seem to care. "Stuff gets lost all the time."? What the heck is that?
It is also clear that Sullivan has a healthy ego and I suspect the idea that Sullivan is about to explode to the Appeals Court is a real possibility. That would end very, very badly ... for Sullivan. Maybe someone with common sense is nudging him away from the edge of a cliff.
I also think it is true that a defense attorney has no role in the Appeals Court demand to Sullivan that he defend his actions. This is the "boss" asking a "manager" what is going on. It's essentially a personnel procedural issue. At some point, just like the FBI is launching an internal review of Flynn's case, the Circuit Court may want to launch an internal review of Sullivan's proceedings as well. THEN Sullivan may want a lawyer. Following that up, when Flynn sues for damages and punitive damages, Sullivan may want a lawyer as well.
It would REALLY be interesting to know if Sullivan has been acting at the behest of someone else? If there is enough pressure against his behavior, he may drop a few names.

Couldn't agree more with #2's post. Any judge worth his salt should be able to compose his own response to the Circuit Court of Appeals. If he cannot do so, one wonders at his competence. Does he rely on the attorneys before him to write all his written decisions? Affirmative action appointee.
Note also that Beth Wilkinson is married to NBC's now-forgotten David Gregory. Swamp dwellers of the first order.
