Lee Smith’s article in Tablet, titled “How Russiagate Began With Obama’s Iran Deal Domestic Spying Campaign,” pieces together why President Obama warned then incoming President Donald Trump away from Michael Flynn. It explains why Flynn was investigated. It all fits. At the bottom of the Russian hoax story is a tale of narcissism: Hillary Clinton’s shock at losing the election, the media’s shock at being wrong and less capable of manipulation that they thought, and, importantly, Barack Obama’s shock that his priorities — all of them, but most of all the Iran Deal — would be swept away as so much ideological detritus. This isn't by Fischer. While I agree that the dems have criminally gummed up the works and continue to do so and may get away without any cost in some cases, I am not despairing. I recognize that Trump has been up to even this challenge and has had enormous success. We have tax cuts, we have many new conservative judges, immigration is pushing people back into Mexico, ISIS has been decimated, Iran is in economic shambles, several major terrorist leaders are quite spectacularly dead, we have some new trade deals, and many other good things. While criminal prosecution is still in abatement, the cabal that pulled this off is NOT getting away scot free. First, their propaganda defense arm, the media has been grievously damaged by Trump's willingness to confront and expose them. They beclown themselves regularly and the American People KNOW it. Next, consider the state of the dems. They lost the Mueller battle with Mueller coming before a publicly televised hearing and sounding pathetic. They lost the impeachment game with the House prosecutors also sounding pretty dumb. Flynn's persecution is almost over; they lose again. People KNOW that BO's FBI and intelligence agencies WERE spying on Trump and his campaign, plus other political enemies. BO is looking more like Tricky Dick Nixon every day. The dem primary candidates are a joke and they finally settled, kind of, on senile, gropey Joe who seems to consider Blacks his voting valets. The dem leadership is Nasty and a singing group called The Pathetics. Schiffty's lies about Russian collusion have been exposed and it is clear he KNEW he was lying when he spoke. Chuckie Scummer and Nadless pop out of their holes, see their shadow, and disappear again. The deep state is being uprooted and disposed of. The media and dems are squawking but powerless. Key Trump people are getting rid of people and draining the swamp. All of this, and more, is happening, obviously more slowly than we would like but even a slowed up Trump has been far more successful than Republicans have been in many decades. If Durham manages to root out some of BO's associates it is going to be an end to the silly claim that BO's, and Joe's, administration was "scandal free". The American People have already came to the recognition that BO didn't accomplish much and made some stupid moves. Whether he is held accountable for it or not, it is likely that it will be also recognized that a lot of corrupt stuff was going on under his watch and he WAS aware of it and lead it. Incompetent and corrupt is not a great legacy and will drag down one of the "success" stories that the liberals have desperately tried to protect. Yeah, things could have been better but they aren't too bad and the liberals are about spent. Soon we will have 4 more years with the Congress back under Republican control, an eviscerated dem party, and a powerless media.

Dov is correct. Barack was so intent on creating a legacy that he destroyed a working healthcare system with an overpriced Affordable Care Act that nobody could afford, especially when they were forced to pay for the healthcare of the bottom feeders. He and his democrat toadies attempted to bring it back from the dead several times and failed. It wasn't just his foreign policy that failed, it was his entire agenda across the board. Even after corrupting the entire top layer of the federal government, he could not win his battle with his own ego.

Essentially what Barack Obama did was elevate the “Chicago Way” of political corruption to the federal level by giving the politicized DC “Deep State” a wink and a nod “OK” to specifically go after General Flynn who Obama recognized as being an extreme threat to the Obama legacy. Along with generally anyone else connected to President Trump, and the Trump Administration, in a corrupt conspiracy that amounts to sedition, that served to sabotage the Trump Administration, by keeping a lot of talented people fearing that they could become targets of leftist and liberal Democrat law fare activities that would bankrupt themselves and their families from applying for high level positions in the Trump Administration. As pointed out in the article, the large “UniParty” segment of the Republican congressional delegation was covertly pleased as punch to follow right along and obstruct the Trump Administration anti-corruption political agenda. Some of those “UniParty” Republicans since have pulled the plug and have left Congress, with more to go at the end of their current terms next January.

Why Joe Biden can do no wrong 13 replies

One columnist declared that former Vice President Joe Biden could boil babies and she would still vote for him. Feminist leaders have said they believe Biden raped a Senate staffer but they still endorse him. Good government advocates have opposed any investigation into prior sexual harassment or corruption claims against Biden. It seems politicians and pundits alike have discovered the glory of the “presidential bull.” In this instance, Biden is akin to a papal indulgence that allows writers, members of Congress and journalists to forgive any sin in a holy crusade to retake Washington. In the 11th century, Pope Urban II formalized

I am very tired of Joe Biden. My vote for him was already hanging by a thread before his disastrous interview with Charlamagne tha God on Friday. Interrupting the Breakfast Club host’s explanation that black people needed assurances that our communities will benefit from his presidency, Biden asserted: “If you’ve got a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or for Trump, then you ain’t black.” Again, I am very tired of Joe Biden. Not because I am a purist, or have inflexible ideological commitments of what it will take to remove Donald Trump from office. But rather because Biden’s condescension towards black communities is intolerable.

How long, we wonder, until the Senate Judiciary Committee or the Chief Justice of the United States — or someone — upbraids Senator Sheldon Whitehouse? The Wall Street Journal has been all over the senator’s bullying (he threatened the Supreme Court with restructuring if it didn’t rule the way he wanted in a gun rights case). His personal attack on a federal appeals judge as she’s about to decide an important matter, though, cries out for more than newspaper editorials. The judge is Neomi Rao. She rides the District of Columbia Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals. She is one of three judges on the panel

Democrats blocked the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis from investigating China’s malfeasance. “Coronavirus Committee Dems won’t let us investigate China’s cover-up,” House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) tweeted. “Why? – China’s lies caused global suffering & economic devastation – China undermined our efforts to combat the virus – China is reportedly trying to steal our vaccine research They must be held accountable.”

Joe Biden had yet another sad event the other night, a Yahoo-sponsored virtual town-hall gathering that made zero news. His failing memory continued to show, as he stumbled over the name “coronavirus,” forgot the size of the 2009 stimulus bill he claims he shepherded through (he was off by a factor of 10) and muttered, “I don’t recall” when asked about an inspector general fired when he was vice president — as well as forgetting that it’s now the 21st century (hey, it’s only been that for two decades). At least this didn’t feature the technical glitches of his other events, such as the time

John covered the shifting situation for Hong Kong’s pro-democracy movement yesterday, noting how the Chinese Communist Party appears to be trying to take advantage of the global fixation on the pandemic to achieve their goals. One of the pro-democracy Hong Kong legislators quoted in that article described his fear that we may be witnessing “the end of Hong Kong as an international financial and business center.” That may very well turn out to be the case if China continues their crackdown unchecked, but the impact on the freedoms traditionally enjoyed by Hong Kong residents under the control of Great Britain will probably be taking an even worse beating.

Throughout most of the nation, the curve of the coronavirus has been decisively flattened. The healthcare system has not only survived but also excelled, keeping more than 94% of confirmed infected patients alive, a number that will only increase as testing ramps up. That’s better than Britain’s National Health Service or the healthcare systems of France, Belgium, Canada, Italy, Spain, Ireland, or Sweden, among others. But there are limits to how quickly commercial and economic life can resume because no government snap of the fingers can restore life to the way it was. Customer-facing businesses, in particular, can resume commercial activity only to the extent

Memorial Day 2020 will be a weekend of cancellations—most parades and picnics must wait until next year. Regardless of present circumstances, though, the holiday’s true purpose is to honor those who died serving in the United States armed forces. Typically, Memorial Day weekend marks an annual pilgrimage to cemeteries, where volunteers, families, and friends decorate the graves of those who defended our nation. This year, many of the fallen won’t receive their annual visitors. In Hazleton, Pennsylvania, though, my family’s hometown, the tradition will go on this year, despite Covid-19’s impact on this mountaintop city, which, at one point, was a virus hotspot. New York- Hertz filed for bankruptcy Friday night, the latest victim of the sudden economic downturn sparked by the Covid-19 pandemic. The company has been renting cars since 1918, when it set up shop with a dozen Ford Model Ts, and has survived the Great Depression, the virtual halt of US auto production during World War II and numerous oil price shocks. By declaring bankruptcy, Hertz says it intends to stay in business while restructuring its debts and emerging a financially healthier company. "The impact of Covid-19 on travel demand was sudden and dramatic, causing an abrupt decline in the company's revenue and future bookings," said the company's statement.

China is currently transgressing the terms of its 1997 treaty over Hong Kong, which promised a “one country, two systems” settlement that preserved Hong Kong’s somewhat autonomous democratic institutions. These institutions guarantee rights to Hong Kongers and guard its common-law inheritance. China’s legislature in Beijing is preparing a new national-security law aimed at Hong Kong to prohibit and punish terrorism, foreign influence, and secession. By that, they mean demonstration, free speech, and a functioning democratic system with rights guaranteed to citizens. Meanwhile, Beijing’s loyalists installed in Hong Kong’s legislative council have been making open attempts at a putsch against the pro-democracy majority.

Stay-home orders that extend too long could cause the U.S. “irreparable damage,” Dr. Anthony Fauci warned Friday. Strict crackdowns on large gatherings and other orders, such as for home quarantines, were needed when the coronavirus first hit the nation, but those rules can now begin to be lifted in many parts of the country, Fauci said during an interview on CNBC. “I don’t want people to think that any of us feel that staying locked down for a prolonged period of time is the way to go,” the member of the White House coronavirus task force said.

Harvard psychology professor Steven Pinker said Thursday that the push for reopening society from lockdowns comes from Christianity’s “malignant delusion” of belief in an afterlife. Atheists who believe in this life alone are more concerned with health and safety, Professor Pinker suggested in a Tweet, while Christians tend to devalue “actual lives” and live a riskier existence. Belief in an afterlife is a malignant delusion, since it devalues actual lives and discourages action that would make them longer, safer, and happier.
