Baltimore Mayor Jack Young (D) is once again demanding President Donald Trump scrap his planned visit to the city on Memorial Day, arguing that he believes the trip is against the law, citing the city’s stay-at-home order still being in place due to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.
“We don’t need to be spending our resources for the president who’s coming here under our orders to stay at home. I think he’s violating the law,” Young said, according to CBS News Baltimore.
The White House announced this week that President Trump and first lady Melania Trump will travel to Baltimore to visit the Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine.

From day 1, I refused to "stay at home". Yes, I did avoid getting close to people and handling objects that others had handled. I get shutting down large venues to slow the spread, i.e, concerts and sporting events. But shutting down everything was and is a mistake.

If all of the law abiding citizens of Baltimore are sheltering in place then police escort and security aren't needed.

the republican governor isnt acting any better than the mayor. if i was in the region i would be there. its them that are violating the fundamental law of our nation, the constitution of the united states. not much different than the first pitch thrown out by gw bush except everyone was behind him for that one. since then the press and the leftists have gone completely to the dark side.

Fort McHenry is a National Park, controlled by the Federal Government. PDJT's response should be "Begone foul Troll!. You have no power here!".

Hogan is not exactly a conservative Republican or he would never have been elected in Maryland. And he has DC and Coonman Northam’s Virginia right next door so he does pretty much what they are doing.
And, Mayor Young, an order is just an order. It’s not a law, so PDT is not “violating the law”. As a mayor, you should know the difference, but your power madness is in the way.

Fort McHenry is Federal property - it is a unit of the National Park Service, which is a division of the Department of the Interior, which is a Cabinet level component of the Executive Branch of the Federal Government. As head of the Executive Branch, the President is entitled to visit Federal property any time he wishes, The small, insignificant mayor of Balmore can take his threats and shove them you-know-where.

An election for mayor is going on in Baltimore and this clown isn't even in the top three. He got to be the current mayor because the last one was caught for some crime (I can't remember what the crime was) and sentenced to jail. His current edict, has Baltimore shutdown until the end of August. The current crop of corrupt contenders for mayor includes a former mayor caught stealing gift cards for the needy(currently leading in the polls), an Obozo devotee, and about eight or nine other democrats spouting the same message. There are as far as I know, no Republican candidates for the position of mayor in Baltimore. The media has had several debates, and each candidate tries to out socialist the other. They all agree on one thing, and that is the police are the problem and they need to be reformed. I don't even know why anyone would want to visit this place. I go to work there, and leave four hours earlier than I'm supposed to just to get out of town before it gets dark.

What 'law' Mayor? EO/EA's issued by governors are NOT law. This nonsense has got to stop, but it sure is entertaining to watch the terminally stupid do their dancing.

This is where blind hatred leads you. It shorts out reason and rational thought. The 'Mayor' of Baltimore is clearly not fit to lead.

So arrest him. Two things will happen if they try. One, they will NOT arrest him, and two they are very likely to find out that their "law" which is NOT a law, but an edict, is unconstitutional.

what we have here is a self important mayor trying to play gotcha with the President of The United States. He is pretending that his civil authority is superior to the President's civil and Military authority.

Mayor Young, what exactly were the House and Senate numbers of the bills that passed that became the law you are referring to?!?!?!?
Because unless they passed your state legislature, and the final bill was signed by the governor, then this is not law!!!!!
If he doesn't understand that basic concept, then he is clearly too stupid to be mayor!!!

I’m with #10. Chances are President Trump and his companions will arrive by US Marine helicopter and land, take part in the ceremony, and then depart by helicopter all on Federal property at Fort McHenry. So the Mayor should just get back to his job of mismanaging his city and ensuring that the sewers are plugged up.
