Mitt Romney Defends Vote-by-Mail:
Works ‘Very, Very Well’ in Utah

Original Article

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), one of the Republican Party’s most vocal critics of President Donald Trump, responded to the president’s criticism of recent vote-by-mail initiatives by Democrat governors, claiming the voting system works seamlessly in his home state.“In my state, I’ll bet 90% of us vote by mail. It works very very well and it’s a very Republican state,” Romney told reporters on Capitol Hill when asked about the president’s comments, according to ABC News.Earlier Wednesday, President Trump threatened to withhold funding from Michigan over its mailing absentee ballot applications for its upcoming election in August and November.

No reason that it can't work ... except! .. signature verification against registration applications is slow and expensive. I observed this process one election in my county and rooms full of semi-trained verifiers took days to verify just a fraction of the total ballots in the county. Lots of address mismatches as people moved within the county (not required to re-register) and had to be double checked.

The invaluable Mitt Romney weighs in once again. Remind me again how Romney was going to be fine for us because secretly, despite all of his prior and anti-Trump activities, he was a loyal Republican. Romney used to have one lone defender still left on this site. Genuinely I admired his perseverance, but even he hasn't been able to explain this stuff.

Here's a quick, and easy solution to mail-in ballots. All ballots must have a tracking number that must be accounted for on EVERY ballot, before any certification of any person on such ballot(s). Anyone who has collected ballots (vote harvesting) must account for every ballot they collected, and attest they are all legally eligible to cast a ballot. Make sure there is a sampling of ballots to ensure those persons actually cast that ballot. Abolish winner-take-all, and go to proportional allocation of EC votes.

Why spend all the time, money, confusion and having to delay the results? I know a way you can be safe and vote. In fact this is the only place the politicians have said is safe during this whole time. Allow people to vote in the grocery stores. An added bonus you can pic up something for dinner.

Vote by mail works well for absentees and those who have disabilities that prevent them from voting in person. Otherwise, it is a cumbersome method that no one would seriously advocate for except to make it easier to commit voter fraud.

Mitt Romney isn't going to solve this problem -- he evidently doesn't even see a problem. The GOP must simply beat the Dems at their own game by out-harvesting them and stealing elections in their districts. Then the Democrats will demand an immediate end to widespread mail-in ballots.

But we don't want mail-in voter fraud. Something tells me that Republican mail-in ballots will somehow get lost in the mail and never make it to the registrar's office, and even if they do, they will be able to be screened again for culling out votes they don't want to be counted.

Utah was ballot harvesting before ballot harvesting even had a name! Old Mormon men, GOPe globalists, all, kept watch on the polling lists. When it got close to closing time they'd create filled in ballots for all their "brothers" as if all Mormons meant top vote and would have agreed with their old men 100%. They did this right under the noses of poll watchers, too. Worked as a group to divert your attention then slipped ballots into the box. We should have kicked them out of the room once they voted but they pretended they were informal polling place watchers. Hate them for Romney who never should have been even on the ballot.

Heard a woman on the radio (anecdotal I know) say that mail in ballots in PA have a bar code on the back of the envelope identifying party affiliation. If so, it sounds very convenient for fraud purposes Black Panthers intimidate potential voters - ok with Eric "wing man" (not gonna prosecute my brothers) Holder and then there's a precinct with more votes than voters. Now a Philly election judge is caught ballot stuffing.. But I am constantly reminded by the media that illegal voting is "rare". But if "every vote counts" then a single illegal vote can be catastrophic. "Landslide" LBJ won a primary with that "rare" illegal voting and we are still paying the price.

He struggled to fit in, got in some fights.
