Police State Dry Run
a Huge Success

When the coronavirus landed on our shores, communist China came with it. We have become part of a mass scale human experiment in government control and it turned out that stripping away our freedom wasn’t all that difficult. Under the guise of concern for our health and well-being, tyrants came out of the woodwork. Our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and our lives are being destroyed as the left solidifies and expands their oppressive powers. We’ve been herded around like cattle, threatened, isolated, confined, silenced, and arrested. You name it, it’s happening

Our job my fellow patriots is to leverage this as our dry run and to do an after action assessment as though this was a war game. I hope that this glimpse at a socialist future has awakened some sheep. For once big government stepped on their toes and impinged on things they care about. If nothing else, this should serve as a reminder of the true purpose of the second amendment.

Brown brings home the key point in her last sentence which sums up the left and its plan: "There is one thing and one thing only they desire: power. And they’re having at it. So far, the police state has been a wild success." Anyone with at least one brain cell should now be able to understand the totalitarianism the dims intend to transform America with if they are given power - at any level. This was and still is Obie's dream. Never vote dim, not even for dog catcher.

How easy it would be for this to happen. People are afraid of minor punishments like losing their business license. How much more afraid would they be of police force that arrested people for protesting or criticizing the government and put them in jail--or a "re-education camp?" Would churches dare operate if their leaders could be arrested and imprisoned? All it takes is a little terror. We have seen this happen over and over again.

Everything in this article is true, And there is more. The economy has been nationalized. Everything that matters is controlled by the government through regulation, or now, government required subsidies, including finance, energy, health, manufacturing, airlines, hospitality, all of it. I look at this as a valuable lesson. It will not be so easy to lock anything down next time that an excuse arises. We have learned which governors can not handle the office and will eliminate them. Rights are called "rights" for a reason. Even democrats can learn something if they pay attention.

I'm with #1. The chinese disease hustle hasn't really stopped me from doing anything except going places that were forced to close, and even that's not always stopping me. Still taking my dog to the same park for his business meetings (we both like it better when it's closed anyway); there are always a few other dog-walkers there as well. I live in the desert and they can't close that; hiking trails might be "closed" so just go off-trail. Nobody is paying attention anyway. Golf courses and swimming pools are opening this weekend under certain conditions, sit-down restaurants too so there's that Not bothering with a nasty mask unless I have to -- most stores require them or you're asked to leave -- and I've never once felt obliged or compelled to "shelter in place." Not for a political shakedown. I refuse to be a fool and I resent when stupid people expect me to behave stupidly just because they say so. To hell with that noise. What bothers me is how easily most of the country rolled over and went ass-up without much of a second thought. What government steals it never freely returns, so prepare for a stolen life for a long time. We're not "all in this together." You've heard the iconic tale of the frog in the simmering pan, yes? That's what this is. Worthless masks, hiding behind the couch, abandoning our parks, beaches, churches and pretty much everywhere else under totalitarian threat... They won't stop until something stops them.

No. 7 - I REALLY hope you are correct but if not, we're going to be headed toward something no one really wants. I've been saying these things to whomever would listen for weeks. This is a dry run, too convenient, it has to have been planned & orchestrated by something / someone, it's intentional from start to finish and top to bottom, the timing is just a bit too perfect etc. The speed & ruthlessness with which this has happened is both terrifying and shocking. The startling number of people who simply roll over to do WHATEVER they are told to do by almost ANYONE is jaw dropping ! City councilmen telling me where I can / cannot go, what I have to wear, how close I can get, on and on. We have cut our own throats, in many ways, not the least of which is economically, based on computer models ( DON'T get me started on that ! ), so-called experts, a fear mongering press and simple arrogance and power grabbing masquerading as 'helping'. All of it swallowed by a society who, so far, seemingly, will, in general DO ANYTHING to be 'protected' and 'taken care of' ( they're not ) so that they themselves do not have to worry about a thing ! I would have laughed at anyone who told me just a mere 6 months ago that this is where we would be today & how and why we got here. We have done this VOLUNTARILY to ourselves and are continuing to do it. It's breathtaking, sad & frightening, but still breathtaking ! This may never happen again because, right now, today, THIS IS NOT 'OVER', and IT MAY NEVER BE OVER !! Think about that for a moment.

#17, wholeheartedly agreed with your post. It is in the same vein as what I have been thinking when reading the comments on this article. Who says this is over? It is a great success. People have to get it thru their heads that now is the time to determine whether or not we stay free. And accomplishing that is not going to be easy or comfortable. On the other hand, this scam has helped a lot of US come to terms with what's really important. And, it's exposed the failure of government big time. Federal government is inefficient and spending money we don't have. State and local (and a lot of federal) "rulers" have revealed themselves to be tyrants, and a lot of US here have tried to tell people we know that democrats are communists; now they can see it for themselves. I agree with others who have stated that it will not be so easy next time. Next time may come as soon as when tyrants who have opened beaches start to shut them down again because of bogus increases of infected cases.

Another more hopeful possibility is that this power grab has awakened anew everyone who cherishes each individual's Rights to what exactly is terribly wrong with central planning by Big Government socialist politicos. America's Founders knew from their personal experiences and history that the statists' tyranny and bad policies result in sensless suffering for all. It should be evident to everyone after this virus threat that our Republic form of governance is best for all. This challenge to our Republic alerts us to how liberty's enemies would & could use ANYTHING to lure the country away from the Constitution & Bill of Rights but we must stay alert & not fall for whatever they conjure up. Freedom isn't free. We must value & protect it .

Conservatives are happily gloating over the fact that Andrew Cuomo is at, or rapidly approaching, his nadir. (snip) Cuomo's pandering has always been coarse, heavy-handed, and insincere. Though he is hardly a closet conservative, and probably genuinely supports these policies, it has always been obvious that Cuomo manipulated leftist identity groups so that they would have no alternative but to vote for him and make him governor-for-life. (Indeed, until only a few weeks ago, Cuomo seemed to be a shoo-in for a fourth term). Eventually, though, it became clear that the leftist identity-politics groups were getting tired of getting the pimp hand from Cuomo

Meghan Markle, it seems, isn't much of a scholar. While much of the focus has been on her barbs accusing the British royal family of abnormal interest in her baby's skin color and denying him a title and personal security protection supposedly because he is black and they are racists, what's striking to me is how unprepared she was for the royal role she sought when she married Prince Harry. And not just ignorant, but willfully ignorant, proud of her ignorance, flippantly stating she never did "any research," as if that's something to be proud of.

Though the populist tide seems to have ebbed, it will rise again, and soon. The problem that ignited populist sentiment in the first place, whether on the left or the right, remains: the country’s economic and financial system has failed much of the population and is rigged to the benefit of a government-business elite. Resistance to this inequity elevated Trump and pulled the Democratic Party to the left and will continue to roil American politics until things change. The economy’s “rigging” has developed gradually over time and often from the best of intentions.

That's false. The truth, it seems, was of no value in reporting on this year's Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
