New Jersey—As New Jersey state parks reopened during the COVID-19 pandemic, parks police have reported an unsettling “inordinate amount of urine and feces being left behind.” State Police Superintendent Pat Callahan announced the “disheartening” information during Gov. Phil Murphy’s coronavirus briefing Monday. There is a "zero tolerance" policy for anyone who is caught in such a situation, Callahan said. “The whole idea behind parks is to give citizens time to enjoy fresh air and have time outside,” he added. "We understand restrooms are closed, but people should be planning accordingly and should not be urinating in bottles and leaving them behind," Callahan said.

As a long retired oldster, when I have to go, I have to go. Closing the restrooms forces me to go elsewhere. Back in the day when I lead Boy Scout trips, we told the scouts that if you don't have to go every 2-3 hours, you are not drinking enough. Stupidity on display by NJ bureaucrats.

They really are just STUPID. Close the restrooms.....and what in the hell do you think is going to happen you fools?
Open the restrooms or people will go on the ground. This would be a touch less out here in KS, perhap some of this is just NJ, but it is also human nature. Sometimes you have to go.

Why were the restrooms closed? Is that part of the DNC plan to obstruct the return ti normalcy after the coronavirus lockdowns?
Par Callahan forgets who he works for.

Just like PA Guv Wolf closing the rest areas on interstate highways. Truckers drink coffee and a couple of hours later - voila. How else were they going to get groceries delivered? Knee jerk reaction is not government and is the usual reaction from somebody who has never worked for a living.

Hahahahahahaha. When you open the parks, but keep the restrooms closed, what do you think you will get? There is a reason there are public restrooms in public parks. What happens when you walk your dog? He has to go. Same with people. Welcome to earth. Did these governors just fall from the sky, or what? Hahahahahaha

The media should ask what an ordinate amount of feces and urine would be? Anytime there are a lot of people in a park it is not inordinate for them to have to pee and poop, that’s just human nature. It clear where the problem lies, with the officials who opened the park and not the reastrooms.

Well you stupid governor in NJ, what did you expect when you open parks but keep the rest rooms closed? It was done on purpose is what I think so he'd have a reason to close the parks again. NJ parks are now emulating SF street toilets. The NJ governor is perfectly happy with that since it fits his end desire to put a jackboot on people's necks.

SO why weren't there proper disposal facilities in place? What do you expect people to do, take it with them when they leave?
