Former CIA Director John Brennan appears to have dodged prosecution in U.S. Attorney John Durham's criminal inquiry into the Russia investigation.
After NBC News reported Thursday that Brennan agreed to do an interview with Durham, signaling that his investigation is nearing its end, a lawyer familiar with the situation told NPR that the Obama-era CIA director has been told he is not a target of prosecutors. Instead, this source said, the interview will mainly consist of technical questions.
The news is sure to disappoint some of President Trump's most ardent supporters who believe Brennan and other top officials in the Obama administration

Mayor Bill de Blasio on Friday revealed a plan to buy properties around the city and turn them into permanent affordable housing, after moving more than 10,000 homeless people into hotels during the COVID-19 pandemic and shaming rich residents who have left the city as 'fair weather friends'. At a press conference on Friday, he did not say which type of buildings the city had its eye on and the city is refusing to give more details, citing 'privacy concerns'. Blasio only said there was an 'opportunity to get creative' now when it came to finding housing for New York's homeless.

He's desperate.
Faced with a slew of baggage-laden female black candidates for his running mate, each of whom could drag his ticket down, Joe Biden is reaching out and around the vaunted race box to consider Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, the governor of Michigan as his running mate.
According to the Detroit News:
Lansing — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer traveled to Delaware last weekend to meet with Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee’s first known in-person session with a potential running mate as he nears a decision, according to the Associated Press.

Bernie Sanders is proposing a new wealth tax on billionaires called the ‘Make Billionaires Pay’ act. He wants to tax wealth they have generated during the Coronavirus pandemic, to fund healthcare for all Americans for one year. His socialist instincts always get the best of him. CNBC reports Sen. Sanders proposes one-time tax that would cost Bezos $42.8 billion, Musk $27.5 billion Top tech leaders and other billionaires would be forced to hand over billions of dollars in wealth they’ve gained during the coronavirus pandemic under a new bill introduced by Sens. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Ed Markey, D-Mass., and Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y.

Hillary Clinton leveled a jocular broadside against New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd on Saturday, pointing out that the writer appeared to forget wholesale that Clinton chose a man to run as her vice president during the 2016 election.
Writing on the 1984 vice presidential candidacy of Geraldine Ferraro ahead of Joe Biden's announcement of a female running mate, Dowd in a Saturday column wrote that it had been "36 years since a man and a woman ran together on a Democratic Party ticket."
That claim ignored the 2016 presidential election,

Soot darkens the letters on the sign for 7 Mile Fashion, months after rioters torched the Lake Street shopping center where it stands.
The store that thrived for 24 years is now a mass of debris. The buildings on either side are boarded, the ruins cordoned off by a chain-link fence.
The Ahn family that owns 7 Mile Fashion estimates they lost $2.5 million here and at two other stores attacked on Nicollet Avenue and W. Broadway. Yet insurance will cover just $600,000 because they had not updated their policy in many years.(Snip) More than half of 421 small businesses applying

Sen. Amy Klobuchar sent a letter Friday urging the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to plan for a possible outbreak of a rare, polio-like illness that mostly affects children. It's called acute flaccid myelitis, or AFM.
Larey Swanson's son was diagnosed with AFM back in September of 2014 (snip) “Our family, along with several other families who have kids affected by AFM met with Klobuchar at Children's Hospital, and we emphasized for the need for mandatory reporting at the CDC. And at the time, she was very responsive,”

The Seattle City Council voted unanimously on Wednesday in support of police budget proposals that would lay off 100 police officers, despite objections from the city's mayor and police chief.
The city council began to reexamine the police department's budget earlier this summer in response to anti-police protests. Mayor Jenny Durkan (D.) and police chief Carmen Best criticized the most recent set of proposals, which would also end the removal of homeless people from the city's streets and cut salaries for police leadership.
Durkan said the cuts would hit the "most diverse class" of officers the city has ever had, as police union rules mandate that layoffs are determined by seniority.

Comedian Bill Maher argued that evidence shows “it’s possible” former President Bill Clinton visited convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s sex island where underage girls were offered up to his rich and powerful friends.Speaking with former Clinton White House adviser Paul Begala on his HBO show “Real Time,” Maher discussed the recently unsealed court documents showing that alleged Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre claims to have witnessed Bill Clinton at the island, and that “two young girls” were there also, though the former president’s spokesperson has denied the accusation.

Whether he’s studied them or not, President Trump is a master at cutting leftists down using the Rules for Radicals that Saul Alinsky drafted to help further a leftist agenda. At a press conference at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, Trump showed his mastery of Rule 4 (“Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules”), Rule 5 (“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon”), and Rule 6 (“A good tactic is one your people enjoy”). (snip) One of the reporters opened, not with a question, but with an accusation. “You said that the pandemic is disappearing, but we lost 6,000 Americans this week

An opinion piece published in The New York Times on Saturday that incorrectly asserted it has "been 36 years since a man and woman ran together [in a presidential election] on a Democratic Party ticket" was immediately panned on Twitter, prompting The Times to delete its tweet and correct the column. The article, written by Opinion Columnist Maureen Dowd, is titled "No Wrist Corsages, Please" and asks the question, "Has America grown since 1984, or will the knives still be out for [Joe] Biden’s running mate?" "It’s hard to fathom, but it has been 36 years since a man and
