There is a real darkness in our country and, no, it isn’t the president’s fault. He has simply amplified a hidden sentiment that has been masked for a long time. This goes for all forms of media, but specifically, it applies to movies, television, and obviously the news. I’d include music, but I have zero idea what the kids are listening to nowadays. Saying the media is biased is like saying Led Zeppelin is your favorite band, so let’s just go down the path of television and movies.
I was blessed to be a 1980s child, a time when movies were so unrealistic they were a thing of beauty.

I too was an 80's child. I adore my childhood. Me personally watch (fanatically) "old" tv yes but especially "old" movies, back when Hollywood and her stars loved this country, her people, and God.... and they knew how to tell a good story without onscreen sex and violence. Good stuff!

A thinly presented supposition that says more about the author than the subject.

I love TCM. I've been a fan of the old movies since I was a kid in the 50's-60's. In the LA market we had the Million Dollar Movie on channel nine. They played the same movie every day after school all week and I'd watch every day. I understand the franchise played in other national markets as well. Sometimes Mom would watch with me and talk about the stars like they were friends and she had a personal relationship with them, "Oh look, there's Lana! You know, she was never the same after the murder." She'd fill me in on the personal lives of the stars. She'd been an avid reader of the movie mags in the 30's when she was a teen.
When I was older, one day we were talking about sex scenes in the movies when they had become almost obligatory. She noted that in the old movies the couple would passionately embrace and kiss, then the camera went to crashing waves, or fireworks, or trains going into tunnels; every adult knew what was going on and played their own pictures in the privacy of their own minds. She said it was much more fun. The leave-nothing-to-the-imagination scenes were boring.
They have taken imagination away from the audience. They hate beauty and instead revel in ugliness. Every effort is made to debase humanity. Its the logical consequence when God is denied.

If he thinks the 80s were good, he should have lived (as I did) through the 60s and 70s - Star Trek (the original), Bonanza, Flipper, Sea Hunt, The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, Father Knows Best, Make Room for Daddy, Leave it to Beaver, Andy Griffith, Rawhide, Secret Agent, The Man from U.N.C.L.E, Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda, The Wonderful World of Disney and their great series - Spin and Marty, The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, and so on.

Remember folks, those of us in the 80's saw a lot of reruns from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. They showed a ton of reruns back then. I grew up on a healthy dose of those funny, happy cartoons and shows.
I bet I have seen every Andy Griffith episode 20 times. There was NOTHING funnier that those episodes with the Darling family. "Hey how 'bout playin' Never Hit Your Grandma with Great Big Stick?" "No, Doug, that one makes me cry."

The worst part of current entertainment programming is as stated, the obligatory, explicit sex scenes on the first episode of everything. Then comes the F word and the MF word that has become mandatory. I've stopped watching so many programs because of this.

90% of what is marketed today as entertainment rots your brain and your soul. Maybe this virus upheaval will bring about some positive change in that. Maybe not.

Miami Vice's first two seasons made television worth watching again.
Blade Runner baffled me the first time I saw it in a theater, but I knew I'd seen something special. Yesterday, a moment from the movie soundtrack came on my car stereo by chance. There were no words on this recording, but I heard them anyway:
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe..."

This is why I watch a whole lot of cooking shows, home makeover shows and the LivePD franchise. I've also recently found reruns of the Carol Burnett Show from the 70's. Love Boat, one of my favorite shows as a teen, is now unwatchable since I cruised for real.
