The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) confirmed in a tweet Tuesday that homeless people put up in hotels are being given free alcohol and drugs.A Twitter user named “T Wolf” who calls himself a “formerly homeless addict,” sent a tweet this week saying he’s heard reports of homeless people getting free alcohol, marijuana and methadone.“I just found out that homeless placed in hotels in SF are being delivered Alcohol, Weed and Methadone because they identified as an addict/alcoholic for FREE. You’re supposed to be offering treatment. This is enabling and is wrong on many levels,” he said.

Many of them, sitting drunk and stoned in a nice, free hotel room are probably wondering if they are just hallucinating again.

Productive working people forced into self imprisonment and idleness? Druggies given free housing and drugs? What a country

On one hand...People who are addicts, have mental issues or simply don't want to be responsible, are put up in hotels with free delivery of the very things that led most of them to be homeless.
On the other hand...Pritzker won't open Illinois fully until there is a vaccine. My stomach has been in knots for two months. Being a responsible person who only want to go back to work is viewed as a potential "criminal."

How many of these hostels are going to be unusable after this filthy occupancy? Will the hotel owners be compensated for the ruin of their property?

They should give them some nice clothes to wear so they will blend with the other people, and want feel belittled, or embarrassed by poverty.

All part of the big picture overall management plan of the peasants. Keep the people ignorant, uneducated, low income, and dependent on the government. So far so good.

A former addict "heard reports?" C'mon, Justin, you're acting like CNN or the New York Times.

Want a tidal wave of homeless people? Offer them a free hotel room in lovely San Francisco with free booze, weed, and methadone.
I swear leftists lack the ability for even rudimentary critical thinking. They run on pure emotion. If you think that emotion is a fine basis for public policy, look no further than the Third Reich. Hitler fed the German people a steady diet of high octane emotional rhetoric. The German people look back on those years now and wonder how they could have possibly commited such atrocities.

in George Orwell's 1984 , the masses were given a pill called Soma, I recall, which kept them tranquilized.

In the book "A Brave New World" it's calls "soma". In Russia, they actually like having as many people as possible drunk on vodka. Drugs make the masses much more easy to control.
Free Section 8 housing, free food, a little spending money, as much pot and / or alcohol that you'd want, an X Box and free cable, why should anyone work? This is what the dems want for everybody. Good examples of what they want all of us include inner cities and Indian reservations.

Sorry for the second post but above poster reminded me of the two books. 1984 and Brave New World, which we analyzed/ discussed for an entire school year my Sophomore year in High School. I go back to that time often, especially in recent days. I committed the "Soma" poem to memory all those tears ago.
“Hug me till you drug me, honey; Kiss me till I'm in a coma: Hug me, honey, snuggly bunny; Love's as good as soma.”
― Aldoux Huxley

#12 - My initial thought, too, but the article states that DPH responded with confirmation.
Private money being used for the program but they won't reveal who the benefactor is. That's not right, either.

#21 - They may say it is private money - but recall that money is fungible. The scam I heard was that the nurses & guards were buying the booze out of their own pockets and the state or city was reimbursing them. So they can 'say' it is private money but I bet if somebody checks expense accounts & petty cash that there will be a whole lot of 'odd' accounts.
