Los Angeles County, which has implemented the most draconian beach closures in the country, has in excess of 1,000 coronavirus deaths. Orange County, which has consistently taken a less restrictive approach, has had 45 deaths going into this weekend. Orange County’s population of 3.3 million is larger than 22 states. If it were a state, Orange County’s death rate of 0.0014% would be the 49th lowest in the country. The primary hospital in Newport Beach has a 475-beds capacity and has never treated more than 25 people for coronavirus issues at any given time. The leaders of that hospital system believe that the curve has flattened

I’ll sign any petition to recall this jerk. I would have signed the same the day after his election!

Do you remember what Lindsey Graham said about the democrats and power during the Kavanaugh hearing? He reminded us that all the dems wanted was power and that we need to be scared to death if they ever get it. Well, folks, this is a dress rehearsal for their taking control. Bring America to her knees and then build her back up as a socialist country with them in control of you and everything you hold dear. Everyday I am more and more inclined to believe this was total overkill. If the dems get their way this will be bigger than the Great Depression and that is what they want.

Three things in life are certain: Death, taxes and the fact that the true number of deaths in the U.S. "due to" Covid-19 are way overstated. Intentionally.

It's about power, not politics. He's a wannabe tyrant, plain and simple. He needs to be dragged out of office. Physically!

Those jackboots defending the governor's mansion is how Newsom will be remembered. The jackboots had on riot gear, helmets and shields, and then under the shield a face mask. But the face mask was not to protect the protesters, but so no one would know who they are, like the criminals that guard Maduro. It must have been the most embarrassing duty those defenders have ever had to do. I feel sorry for them having such an idiot for a boss.

Many of us are so happy he is overplaying his hand… It’s been going on for quite a while. The Democrat voters - who have greater numbers than the Republicans* - cannot be happy about all of the stuff he has pulled. They don’t like restrictions and they don’t want to pay more taxes.
There is a recall petition out there - we signed it several months ago in our dentist’s office - we’ll see if it makes the ballot.
* Most of those who rag on California with a K, as though we were 39 million Dem clones, have never paid any attention to the current state of voter registrations here. Right now the Dems simply have more registered voters than we do. So they win. That does not make all Californians bad the way the uninformed, or those with agendas, depict us. It is rude and insulting and downright ignorant. We don’t do that about those in other states...

It is not so much a matter of who votes as it is who counts the votes

#10, you really shouldn't take the criticisms of the STATE of California, which are mostly aimed at the GOVERNMENT of California as a personal attack. For most it is very much not the case. Many of us are very aware that there are many who live in California who are good conservatives, who value the Constitution. Congressman Nunes is a shining example of everything that a Congressman should be, as just one example.
But California conservatives are overwhelmed by the Communists, the Leftists, the Globalists, the Silicon Valley oligarchs with their billions.....and THEY are the public face of California, and their actions and attitudes disappoint and anger many, especially when whatever "wonderful thing" that California is doing (almost always a destructive and leftist thing, for the last 30 years) is said to be what the rest of us should want.
It's not personal, it's not against the overwhelmed conservatives, the hate is directed at the destroyers who are in charge and who are the public "faces of California" on the TV all the time.
And I was born a bit north of LA, and still have a few long-lost relatives and some friends who live there.

It's not about power or control. Only democrat governors are doing the unthinkable to their constituents. It's a plan to destroy the economy even more, to the point that people will start blaming Trump. It's not working and they don't know when to stop. Once again they are over playing their hand.

Small wonder we have confusion from all the covid-19 reports, when just this one report has at least 2 ambiguities and one opposite.
The author probably meant O.C. had one of the lowest coronavirus death rates in the country. So if it were a state, it would be the 49th highest. (Or if he meant that only one state would have a lower death rate, then O.C. would be the 2nd lowest.)
Clarity in reporting depends heavily on fluency and precision. This kind of sloppiness just sows confusion. (That it's in a publication calling itself Real Clear Politics is hilarious irony.) If Will gets this one backwards, he probably also expresses a lack of concern or interest by saying he could care less...

It is a political war on conservatives. The LAT top, page one news story today was about the defiant OC beach cities, which the writer and headline writer called dismissively the “home of cowboy capitalism,” whatever that means.

What do you expect from Nancy Pelosi's nephew. I got news for Newsom, people are ignoring his fascist stay at home order and are still flocking to the state parks and beaches. Check Folsom Lake recently? But now that the parking lots are barricaded off, people are parking in adjacent neighborhoods.

#15, "cowboy capitalism" sounds like a wonderful thing.
The country needs a lot more of that.
