Buried in a story about the overly generous unemployment “bonus” that Democrats added to the CARES Act is the reason why they insisted on it in the first place — and why it will drag down the recovery once the lockdown ends.
While lawmakers were hammering out the massive $2 trillion bill, a key focus of which was to keep workers connected to their jobs through a loan guarantee program — Democrats insisted on a huge increase in unemployment benefits.
The result was a $600 a week bonus. New York Sen. Chuck Schumer was right to call this “unemployment on steroids.”
Well,

My plan to help small businesses recover after the lockdown was to eat out often to get restaurants back on their feet. The fifteen dollar minimum wage will successfully prevent that due to the price increases they would have to enact. That will not be happening now and I will continue cooking at home. Leave it to democrats to continue to mess up people's lives.

These unemployment folks probably don't know that unemployment is Taxable income, which will be a shock at year end when that 1099 arrives from the US Treasury. They just want to get that $600 weekly check.

I don't think they "snuck" it by anyone. We pay our Representatives to be on top of these things, but where were they? Home! They could have put on a mask, had testing at the door and kept on doing their jobs. We had millions of workers (especially in hospitals) who did their jobs under much more dangerous settings than Congress would have worked under. So, now were stuck with this. I don't think so. As soon as we take back the HOUSE, keep the Senate and re-elect Trump, taking away this perk can be the first order of business! I don't believe Trump will stand for this slowing down his plan to bring this country back to where it was before this Virus hit!

Misleading headline.

Enough! The wily Dems do it again...while the GOP is the witless foil...including the President of the United States, who signs these bills passed into law. Nonsense.
Every bi-partisan act in an "emergency" is a Christmas tree for special interests. In this day of everyday heroes, and TRILIONS of dollars flowing, with an upcoming election, it is not difficult to be generous beyond a fault. We have people, families and their futures to save with imaginary money taken from an empty vault in the Treasury building.
Pelosi is a bum...what does that make Mitch but an accomplice. And then, who signed this thing unwittingly? Or, was it wittingly? At this point what difference does it make?

Signed by a Republican President. Want to see unemployment go to zero over night? Do away with the minimum wage. That guy on the corner with the sign that says, "Will Work For Food"?
Ok, pay people in food. Otherwise, get ready for $100 loaves of bread and $100 per gallon gas with all the printed money being pumped into the economy.

Per the article from PJ Media posted earlier today, if your employer calls you back to work and you refuse (because you like getting paid the higher unemployment amount), you have effectively quit your job and you are no longer eligible to collect unemployment. That is part of what that article is putting out there.

Apparently devaluing our currency by handing out money that has no productive value behind it was insufficient to drive inflation redistribute wealth and throttle the economy.
Remember how we last stopped runaway inflation? With soaring interest rates.
And for the record, the real minimum wage is as it allays has been and will remain $0.00. Now there will be more people at the real minimum wage. Way to look out for the little guy.

Look at what the $15 minimum wage has done to fast food joints that have had it imposed. The average customer sees a ten dollar price on what used to be a six dollar hamburger or a twenty dollar price on a bucket of chicken that consists of breaded chicken bones and moves on to a better restaurant or goes home. Then, to draw customers back, they have to run constant two-for-six dollar "specials" as well as lay off a percentage of their work force. It's nothing but a closed-loop system that results in closing their doors.

As an American taxpayer I want to know how in the world anything gets “snuck” into these bills. As my representative to Congress, it is your responsibility to know what you are signing, all of it, every single jot and tittle. Taxpayers are begging Congress to pass clean bills with no goodies for anyone included somewhere in the text of the bill. It should embarrass anyone who voted for this bill that they did not read it.
Americans know what is wrong with this country. Our politicians betray us every time they get the chance. Writing these massive bills is fooling no one. It is done for no other purpose than to pack in some more pork. Enough is enough. We are in a financial crisis and we demand better from our representatives. The status quo has done immeasurable damage to this country and it has to stop. Congress is committing outright fraud on the taxpayer. This practice is a disgrace. I suggest a rule that states that every bill must be clean. No more adding of this and that. Let Congress earns its keep. If they have to work harder so be it. They are overpaid already.

Mitch just looked the other way. We won't know what's in it until we pass it. Have to pass it NOW. No time for hearings or even read it first. There are no Conservatives left in Congress anymore. We are so screwed. #teaparty2020forfreedom

THIS is the stuff Trump should be talking about! Stop talking about the Covid spread! Leave that to the Doctors who are WAY over inflating the deal to begin with! But, the RATS will come out of this smelling like a rose and Trump will lose to Biden if this doesn't turn around and American's aren't once again freed from their shackles of Government Over Reach!!!
