Trump goes into hiding

Original Article

It looks like President Trump is going into hiding -- from the press, that is. Facing an avalanche of controversy over his bizarre comments on sunlight and dangerous comments regarding disinfectants, the President held a record short briefing Friday evening (sans Drs. Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx), abruptly ending it after 22 minutes of statements without taking any questions from the press.

This makes me so mad. Consider the source but I made myself read it and it’s just horrible how disrespectful the press continues to be towards president Trump.

Not only disrespectful, but deceitful. I listened to the press conference. I know what President Trump actually said. CNN is fake news.

Maybe he is sick to death of you CNN and all your fellow liars and psychos who disguise themselves as media. I have wanted to throttle you all myself for the past three years so I can only imagine how much he hates you and your lies. Just look at it as he is protecting you guys from the pummeling you all deserve in that room. Why should he waste his valuable time with your childish antics?

It is disheartening that a portion of the population actually watch, listen to and believe CNN. Not only that, they despise those of us who don’t.

I believe that President Trump has had more press availabilities than most of our recent Presidents, including Emperor Obama the First, beloved by his often-neglected media groupies.

Never in my life have I seen a group psychosis like that which pervades CNN. Every single one of them is mentally ill. Psychiatrists should study them. Then lock them all up in a loony bin.

I doubt he's hiding -- that's not who he is. He may just be finally disgusted with the charade. He makes himself available for Q&A and the media just asks stupid gotcha questions. Whatever he says or does, they distort or make up out of whole cloth. I don't blame him at all for dispensing with it.

Seriously, it's like CNN and their media pals view this interaction with the President as some arcade shooting game, where they show up and take shots at the target, hoping to win a prize. It's clear they view the target as the President of the United States whom they despise and want to bring down. What is the prize for these sickos? Some satisfaction in bringing down the country? Winning the approval of other cool, smart kids? Sorry, this arcade game is being closed down. Go visit the Fun House and see your grotesque images in the mirrors.

Maybe President Trump is making the White House media clowns irrelevant just as he did with the previously held White House daily briefings by moving them outside as he was leaving the White House. Maybe he should video his daily corona virus briefings with no media in the room, pass out videos of the briefings to the clowns, and then have them submit their questions in writing to the press secretary, thus eliminating the live clown show grandstanding opportunities.

A humble suggestion. Daily press press briefings should be by Vice Admiral Jerome Adams, Surgeon General of the United States. They should be short, informative and not policy oriented. Short-term policy announcements should be by Vice President Pence. Major policy should be saved for the President after consultation with the Cabinet and senior congressional leaders. The President is not his own press secretary and should not be seen or treated as an equal by the press or public. He should brush aside political “gotcha” questions with a terse reply and move on. Becoming embroiled in fights with journalists is beneath the dignity of his office. He must be seen that way by the public.

A new poll indicates that voters would favor a 2024 presidential election between Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republic Senator Mitt Romney. The poll released Thursday by Canadian polling firm Leger surveyed over 1,000 registered U.S. voters who listed the candidates as their top choices for GOP and Democratic nominations. Neither of the current candidates, President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, were listed as choices.

Prominent Democratic donor George Soros called President Donald Trump “dangerous” and asserted that Trump would do “anything to stay in power,” in a wide-ranging interview Tuesday with Italian newspaper La Repubblica. The 90-year-old Hungarian-American and billionaire philanthropist told La Repubblica that Trump is a “confidence trickster” who unexpectedly won the 2016 U.S. election and was inadvertently working to “undermine democracy from within,” per a translation of the interview on George Soros’ website. (Tweet) Soros added that Trump was a mere “transitory phenomenon” suggesting that his ascension to power was an anomalous four-year period in U.S. history

It is no secret but public knowledge that Kamala Harris slept her way up into California political life by being a very public escort and mattress for California Democrat Kingmaker Willie Brown. Willie Brown is 30 years older than Harris and was very married at the time. It was public. It was an embarrassment. With Joe Biden’s photo metaphorically the definition of the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, voters will decide in November whether they want Harris to be their president some time in the next four years. Of almost equally significant concern is what Harris represents to hard-working women across the country who devote years to their careers

President Trump continues to be his own worst enemy: On Thursday, he stooped to calling presumptive vice-presidential nominee Kamala Harris a “mad woman.” That doesn’t promote his agenda. It doesn’t help him with women. It doesn’t shore up his image as worthy of the nation’s highest office. It’s just, as Trump would say, mean and nasty. Sure, Harris isn’t the first target of Trump’s ad hominem attacks or over-the-top language. But making everything personal is unbecoming. It turns off voters who like his policies but dislike his rhetoric.

Last night a group of anti-gentrification protesters in Seattle marched through a section of town for a couple hours to complain that white people were living on stolen land. Well, not stolen exactly. They aren’t claiming the black people who used to live in this neighborhood were pushed out at gunpoint. But they are claiming that an injustice has taken place because white people are now living in new homes in this formerly black neighborhood. The crowd of maybe 50 people was marching down the street after dark chanting “Black people used to live here!”

Commuters driving into downtown Boise the morning of Aug. 13 may have seen a new colorful billboard sign that reads “Black & Brown Folks Built This Country / (And We’re Doing It Again) / Join Us Or Get Out Of The Way.” It’s a strong phrase, and activist/organizer Tanisha Jae Newton said they are radically unapologetic about it. “This message is for folks within impacted communities to know that people recognize them and see them and their power,” said Newton. “These communities need hope and empowerment.”

On Monday, all of America reeled at the sight of Chicago's Magnificent Mile being pillaged by roaming bands of thieves, who seemed to move with abandon through the city's downtown. Hebding said he has seen continued crime downtown in recent months. "This is never something I've seen before in the four years that I've lived here," he said. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) broke with President Trump on Friday by saying there is no debate over whether Sen. In a pair of tweets, Graham, a frequent defender of Trump, said he disagreed with Harris on “plenty of issues,” calling her “one of the most liberal members of the U.S. Senate.” But he said there should be no debate over her citizenship status.

The FBI was told Carter Page was a U.S. intelligence agency source months before the agency began keeping that information from the secret court that authorized spying on him and nearly a full year before the agency altered documents to claim otherwise. Federal charging documents against Kevin Clinesmith, the top FBI attorney who was expected to plead guilty today to altering documents, show that the FBI withheld in three separate spying applications the fact that Page had served as an “operational contact” who helped an agency believed to be the CIA investigate suspected Russian intelligence figures for five years.
