New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo held his position on keeping non-essential businesses closed in the state and argued that economic hardships are not “worse than death.”The Democrat governor dismissed complaints by New Yorkers wanting to get back to work and dealing with a trove of emotional and physical issues brought about by lost income and lockdowns, telling a reporter in a news briefing that people should get a job as an essential worker.(Video) In a lengthy exchange with Cuomo during his daily press briefing on Wednesday, WRGB reporter Anne McCloy attempted to plead the case for protesters

Essential job: government worker. Bureaucrat is best. No furloughs, federal bailouts for pay, do nothing all day every day for years as if you were locked down. And you get to boss people around for fun and profit.

Implicit in his reply is that the most essential jobs are in government. That has to end. There need to be massive layoffs in government at all levels. Roll back salaries, benefits, and their reason for being, their gold-plated pensions! The rest of us have been turned into slaves for the amusement, enjoyment, and plush living and retirement of government bureaucrats (some with multiple government pensions). Let the government layoffs begin! Bigly.

Well, you'd think health care workers as an "essential worker." Tell that to all the healthcare workers getting laid off by hospital systems because they aren't admitting "non-COVID-19" patients (ie, elective surgery, etc.). Or the folks that work in doctors offices because there are fewer patients going to the doctor because they don't want to risk infection/social distancing. I guess being a fetch-it boy/girl/person of indeterminate gender for Commissar and Governor for Life Andy Cuomo and the basement door opener for his doofus brother Fredo the jerk are considered essential workers.

The leftist and liberal Democrats and their media minions are all doom and gloom as they go about fraudulently blaming President Trump for the importation of the Chinese corona virus into the USA. Even though Trump shut down all air travel from China in January. However Trump had no legal authority to stop US citizens returning from China, and thousands of those US citizens had to be allowed to re-enter the USA. They are also blaming Trump for not having the complex testing equipment and chemical reactants immediately available to run specific medical tests for all 330 million Americans to diagnose a very contagious virus of foreign origin that nobody, including US medical scientists, knew existed more then three months or so ago, disregarding the fact that such tests have had to be bio engineered, manufactured, and distributed across the country with innumerable medical personnel having to be trained to run and analyze those specific tests. In that respect the Democrats and their media allies are completely disregarding the fact that when the Obama-Biden crew left office that they allowed the National Medical Emergency Stockpile of personal protective equipment PPE’s to remain depleted, having used that medical equipment during previous epidemics without replenishing those stockpiles. Now Fox News is budding in claiming that polls are showing that Joseph Biden, clearly an old man with declining cognitive abilities, who has been clearly showing that he does not have the mental capacity to perform the job of President, as an example would you want Biden to be in charge of the US Strategic Nuclear Arsenal, is leading Trump in so-called battleground States by as much as ten points in the coming Presidential election. So either Fox News believes that their audiences these days are completely stupid, or are attempting to gin up controversy believing that will boost their ratings. We will see!

We need term limits. Our lawmakers, governors, and others see themselves ONLY as essential. So they have a cushy income stream and sit back and tell us it's too bad we aren't working. So we must do what THEY deem "essential." I've been concerned that this country could become a dictatorship. I just never thought we would be dangerously close in 2020. We are living in very dangerous times. Believe me, these thug governors and mayors who want to deploy drones to monitor our distance from each other or our temperature are salivating over the power this will give them. And once implemented, we won't be able to roll it back. Orwell is rolling over in his grave. And as far as I am concerned, Pelosi has revealed her true ugliness when she flashed her fancy expensive ice cream on national television. How she sleeps at night when many in her city are homeless I will never understand unless she has some very expensive drugs to knock her out.

Gov Cuomo is wealthy and well fed, and don't work very hard, is not intelligent, and got his job because his daddy had it. Sorry, but all that is not very indicative of any empathy or understanding of people that work paycheck to paycheck, or those that have invested all their savings in their businesses. No, I wouldn't look to Cuomo for being the lead, more for him to shut up and stay out of it, letting him run his own life--if he is capable of it.

He should know. He can tell that to all the people in NY that died because of his policies concerning the use of the anti malaria drug as well as sending infected seniors back to nursing homes to die. He would not allow doctors to treat their patients with the anti malaria drug. The only way they would get this drug is when they were admitted to the hospital that proves it was too late. Then I recently read that the NY hospitals were sending very ill seniors back to the nursing homes to die. What the hell is going on in that state??????

Well, maybe if they left Westchester county and campaigned once in a while, they might win. Then remind the morons who don't bother to vote that this sack of fertilizer would have LOST the last 2 times he ran if the residents outside of NYC had voted. For a vivid illustration of both the best and worst response to the pandemic, you have to look no further than the rash of small but disturbing protests taking place intermittently around the U.S. against shelter-in-place orders that are saving lives. We’ve witnessed the sad spectacle of irate protesters equating “liberty” with shortsighted and selfish urges to deny the harsh reality that the vast majority of Americans are doing their

Most politicians in the running to join a presidential ticket as the VP candidate are inclined to stay silent, change the subject, or simply express their humility at the thought of being considered. Stacey Abrams isn't most politicians. "I would be an excellent running mate," Abrams said in a recent interview with Elle magazine, citing her "strong history of executive and management experience," as well as her "25 years in independent study of foreign policy." As soon as it became clear that former vice president Joe Biden would be the Democratic Party's nominee for president, Abrams embarked on a media tour to make the case for why Stacey Abrams,

On Fox News Friday night, Michigan State Representative Karen Whitsett told Tucker Carlson that text messages she's been receiving from Governor Whitmer have not been pleasant ever since the Democratic state lawmaker credited President Trump for her personal recovery from the Wuhan coronavirus. The lawmaker now faces a censure from her Democratic colleagues for crediting the president for her recovery. Tucker Carlson asked Whitsett if the governor ever called the representative to simply say, "I'm so glad you didn't die?" "Actually, it was not as pleasant as that," Rep. Whitsett began, "and the text messages that we have had since then have not been as pleasant as well."

We’re all homeschoolers now. Schools have closed for more than 55 million students nationwide, and at least 34 states have shuttered schools for the rest of the academic year. Just in time, our media and academic elites are coming out swinging against homeschooling. The Washington Post and Salon have raised questions about the practice lately. More alarming, Harvard Magazine this week unleashed a thoroughly unfounded attack on homeschooling, drawing on the work of Harvard University law professor Elizabeth Bartholet.

The novel coronavirus pandemic will define the modern era in the same way World War II shaped an earlier generation, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates says in a 11-page memo outlining his ideas on how best to tackle the disease. “This is like a world war, except in this case, we’re all on the same side,” he writes. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has committed $250 million to the battle and Gates has been speaking up regularly to influence its direction — something that has sometimes placed him at odds with President Donald Trump and made him a target of right-wing pundits and conspiracy theorists. Gates’ memo barely mentions politics,
