During the Republican primaries of 2015, I played a funny supercut of Donald Trump on my podcast. I had misjudged Trump then, fearing his flaws too much and appreciating his talents too little. The supercut put together all the times and tones in which he had said the word “China,” and backed it up with a jazzy bass. I found it hilarious.Well, it was hilarious. But Trump was right about China. Right that its behavior was unprincipled and dangerous. Right that our trade imbalance with them represented a power imbalance that they could abuse. He was right about China when the Democrats and their press were distracting
It drives them bat guano crazy 24/7/365. And he lives rent-free in their minds too, heh heh heh.

I felt the same way about Trump in 2016. I bought the republican lines hook, line and sinker. I'm usually a good judge of character, but was so far off the mark with Trump that I'm personally embarrassed.
Trump challenged the universally agreed upon dogma concerning economics and diplomacy, with so much success that now, anytime he make a proposal or takes a position, I personally shut up and take a wait and see approach. Who knew for example, the Mexico could be coerced into helping secure the border. Who knew that China could be directly confronted in a trade war? Who knew that the muslim world wouldn't explode moving the embassy to Jerusalem? Who knew that the EU could be coerced to pay their fair share for NATO? WHo knew that manufacturing could be brought back to the US? Who knew that a republican didnt have to be nce to the media?
Who knew? TRUMP!
I would follow Trump through the gates of hell if it benefited the nation.

I absolutely cannot think of another living leader that I would rather have in the Presidency now instead of Trump. I think he has the perfect balance of business knowledge, deep caring about the average American, and a healthy, decades long distrust of China and China's motives.
We'll get through this, soon enough, and we all need to ensure that we have four more years for this amazing man to save America.

I trusted President Trump from the beginning for one major reason. He was a businessman and NOT a politician!
The Republicans lied to us in 2010, 2012 and 2014. We gave them the House in 2010 and they demanded the Senate. We gave them the Senate in 2014 and they demanded the Presidency. Between 2010 and 2016, they capitulated to the Dems over and over despite their majority. We gave them the Presidency, the House and the Senate and they obstructed Trump every step of the way until we lost the House so the Dems could once again obstruct him.
He has been consistently right. I pray that he is right with the economy. I trust his judgment implicitly but I'm getting worried. In the end, I will be the first to say I am wrong!

fearing his flaws too much and appreciating his talents too little
How many have we seen - here, there and everywhere - who did (and maybe continue to do) the same. Nit-picking his use of twitter (some still don’t understand the great value in his using that to get his message out), nit-picking his retorts when midgets maligned him ( yet look at us and all the others on the internet who take umbrage at slights, large and small, real or perceived and share it with the world). Didn’t like his hair, didn’t like his clothes and ties, didn’t like this, didn’t like that, bla bla bla…. Called him too fat (not realizing that he very often has to wear bulletproof armor under his some of his suits). The list goes on and on.
Some of us who have known diamonds in the rough and what they really are were more than ready to skip nattering about all that and get to the nitty-gritty. He is strong, he is committed, and his primary goals - the return of our country to we, the people - have been consistent. He loves our/his country.
Doesn’t all that petty stuff sound pretty silly when weighed against his strong inner core, his willingness to give up personal wealth, his going toward our enemies rather than bowing to them or running from them…
He could stay president for the rest of his life as far as I am concerned… we will do no better.

Wonderful article from one who was more than a doubter in 2015 and even later:
Trump has not always been articulate in his rightness, and often it has been instinctive rightness rather than philosophical, which has made it easy to dismiss. But he has been right so often and about so much that it is time to confer on him what no one but his most mindless followers have conferred on him yet: the benefit of the doubt.
Which brings me to the current situation.
The idea that Trump ignored warnings or that Trump reacted late or that Trump over-reacted and carelessly destroyed our economy: these are all the whiny assertions of irresponsible children.
Too many of us do not trust “instinctive rightness”, seeking instead settled science or some other rubbish philosophy to give the needed heft to decisions. Our President considers all that - he is said to be a superb listener and absorber of information - then he follows his instinct, which has proved to be pretty darned reliable.

Me?
I feel vindicated that I was on the Trump Train even before he came down the escalator.
But, maybe my being a born and bred New Yawker, I was more comfortable with his talking style and mannerisms.
It wasn't so much that Trump was so conservative. No, it was because everything he said made COMMON SENSE.
I could almost write his speeches.

Trump is right about a lot of things. Accept it! He's a common and no nonsense guy, just like most of US. I was never much of a Trump fan before he ran for office, but I became a fan during the Republican debates. He just made sense along with Dr. Carson, while the politicians got on my nerves. Thank you, Mr. President.

We were fed a warped and twisted caricature of Mr Trump. The Dems and the Rinos ran against the caricature. They are still running against that same caricature, the big lie if you will.

My vote for Trump was a leap of faith. I knew I didn't want Hillary in the White House, and Trump was the only person who could beat her. My emotions on Election night were more relief than anything else. I knew he would be my president when I watched his inaugural speech.

Can one imagine if trump didn't have Twitter to get his message to the people directly? Having to rely on the lying media to get his message across? They are still bad now, but at least we can hear what he has to say without the media filter and twists.

Perhaps now is the time to start pushing for an exemption to the 22nd amendment for President Trump? For as long as he can get elected, if he wants to run, he can serve. Wouldn't trust ANY politician more than two terms. Since the 'politicians' and deep state worked to limit what he could get done in his first term, and based on his performance, I think it's a no-brainer, if he's willing to serve more than twice.
And while we're at it, apply the 22nd's limit to the house and senate as well. They've proved unworthy of unlimited terms.

"these are all the whiny assertions of irresponsible children."
Oh NO! These are action of full grown and EVIL people who will do anything to get what they want, even let Americans be killed and lives be ruined. These aren't just careless "mistakes". They are the studied and arrogant acts of a malignant party, an 5th column propaganda media, and a collective Left that hate America and are acting with deliberation to destroy it. Trump is successfully standing in their way and it infuriates and maddens them.
Yup, I wasn't certain about Trump either but Hillary would have been an insane alternative. Trump has far exceeded my expectations, carrying the Presidency to unimagined success for ALL the people, even the idiots. He has resurrected Conservatism and transformed it from a philosophy of wishy washy words to powerful actions and he has done it within the framework of law that existed but was being ignored. Meanwhile he has trolled the media into near oblivion and carefully outmaneuvered the dems and made them into powerless, babbling clowns. For a non politician, his political skills are astonishing, perhaps equal to any politician in history.

One thing he wrote stuck me: the comment about "mindless followers" giving PT the benefit of the doubt (but now) it was justified for others to do it.
Methinks the writer is just a little slow...we were ahead of the curve.
