In the midst of all of the cautious suggestions of “good news” in New York City as the pandemic appears to have reached a plateau, other places are only now starting to ramp up toward critical levels where their health care services are being overwhelmed. One such hotspot is in Massachusetts, where Boston Medical Center’s ICU is overflowing with patients and it’s getting hard to find a ventilator for those in the direst straits. The Boston Globe reported that some ambulances headed for the hospital were temporarily diverted to other facilities over the weekend because there were simply no critical care beds available.

If you can get them to Texas before they die we will try to save them. They are fellow Americans.

And sorry for the PS but the article cries about the gut wrenching decision.
Harry Truman had a gut wrenching decision about Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Mass your guts wrench too easily.

Does being in the country legally count for anything? Does a 62 year-old American with diabetes take their place behind a healthy 20 year- old illegal? How about a 70 year-old American with a history of cancer?

I have seen a number of articles asserting that as America's population ages we need more hospitals and things like ventilators but because of "Obamacare" or managed care we are getting less. Is this an example of Obamacare or Romneycare?

In other words, Massachusetts has activated its Death Panels.

Democrats stoking panic. Chloraquine will resolve COVID but they'd rather rouse panic, then find and hang a scapegoat.

I'm guessing that anyone related to Massachusetts politicians will go straight to the top of the "must save" list.

Wasn't Romney involved with this state and it's policies for a period of time? Governor...no? Think about that the next time he opens his fat yap about our cherished POTUS...Donaldis Maximus Trumpus! American Leader of most excellence and glory!!!

BMC is not the destination for --shall we say-- the more affluent of Mass. citizens.
The great liberal bastion, Massachusetts, does not behave in an egalitarian manner. It's a place of graft, political corruption, favoritism, elitism.
Do you think Lizzy Warren or any Dem politician would ever end up at BMC? Teddy Kennedy a the special suite of a special floor at MGH. Corey Booker, Biden, Sanders, Cortez etc etc etc would never end up in the paupers' health care facility. All these promulgators of egalitarianism would never want to be treated equally. The are phonies... all of them.

So:
If a Senior/Elderly individual (60/70/80/90 yrs old) living alone in subsidized housing in Mass, who has multiple 'Pre-Existing Conditions', who is also a semi-hermit and had just read this article, then wakes up one morning with full blown Chinese Virus Symptoms:
Is it better for that person to simly OD on their Heart Meds and let nature take it's course as they lay in comfort in their own bed, knowing that if they go to a Mass Hospital that they'll be left on a gurney in a dimly lit hallway to die?
It's been known for thousands of years that:
PNEUMONIA IS THE ELDERLY'S BEST FRIEND, cause it allows one to slip away peacefully.
No need to get involved in Massachusett's Marxist/Commie/Fascist/Democrap Death Panels. I.E. EF MASS and the Socialists that run it!
Thank Goodness that I live in NH and can call the VA Hospital in Manchester, who will send a DAV Van to pick me up, and will do everything in their power to save me and then nurse me back to health.
God help us if the Dummy-Craps ever take control of the Federal Government which could only happen thru Extensive/Extreme Voter Fraud and some Very Special Slights of Hand by local election officials.
The very future of The American Dream hinges on the results of this coming November 3rd Election.....
BTW: When I go, it'll be on my terms and not that of Commie/Socialist Bureaucrats!

Isn’t Elizabeth Warren 70 years old? Why do I feel this would never ever apply to her, even if she was 95.

I was born not very far from the facility when It was "Boston City Hospital." BCH was where Mum took us when we were ill or hurt. ,Its where the bums, crazies and perps would be taken by the police, or where the poor peeps would go for help. Back then, it was indeed a rough part of the city. Had aurgery and placed in a general ward that had the drunks, hobos, and a few whackos. I survived but got a real education about people. Its probably still sketchy today .Left years ago, but on occasion, visit the old stomping grounds.
Rombama Care is what I think MA still has. The karma of the MA resident's virtue signalling Rombama Care groupies is coming around. Of course they will not call them Death Panels. No, they will probably call is something like....Mass Managed Compassionate Care for the Elderly. Yes, a rose is still a rose regardless what we call it.

Before Covid, elderly terminal cancer patients spent months in an ICU slowly dying on a ventilator. And ther are still plenty of like patients in ICUs as we speak. Sadly, a family recently wanted their 100 year old demented very sick mother put on a ventaltor during the Covid pandemic. Unfortunately for the person, a decision had to be made cause the entire ICU and all ventaltors were occupied by Covid patients. Is it rationing? Yes. How do we decide who gets these resources now that we don't have enough resources for eveyone?

What level of demonic evil do you have to possess to decide to become a bio-ethicist? How deep is your hatred of your fellow human beings? How much alcohol do you have to drink to sleep at night?

Oh, I'm sure there's a hidden secret in that death panel that mandates if you're a demonrat, you get to live; but if you're a republican, you're marked for death. The same goes for these old state legislators.
