A quarter of Americans have either lost their job or seen their wages cut as a result of the coronavirus shutdown, according to the CNBC All-America Economic Survey, which registered the biggest and fastest decline ever in the public’s view of the economy.
At the same time, it found that a majority of Americans remains optimistic that the economy will bounce back in the next year, and President Donald Trump’s approval rating has improved.

Believe ZERO government workers are affected though.
Yet, are they all working, earning the paycheck still?
Roads are light just like when there is a government-only holiday.

Hopefully a lot of "journalists" will lose their jobs. They earned it!

DH works in radio. The execs made him fire all the part-timers after week 2, then most of the full timers a week later, keeping just air staff, some sales and the engineers. Remember—they’re federally licensed and have to stay on the air. They don’t keep HR on site so he had to do the deed—very upsetting, very hard. We feel terrible. He also took a paycut. Interestingly, the execs didn’t. Disgusting. This is very real and very frightening! The only people I know who don’t care are those with gov jobs.

Just to spread the misery---and to be fair!---how about every week this goes on, permanently fire 5% of non-essential government workers, and furlough an additional 10%. Suspend payments to congress critters for the duration, furlough 50% of their 'aides'. You'd see how fast everyone in the country would be mainlining HCQ/Zpak.

If all of these people are out of work, who will make up the tax revenues that are lost due to the shutdown? Where is that money coming from or will congress actually have to make some budget cuts?

Mandatory government shut downs. Yet the LIBERAL media acts surprised when the jobless numbers go up so high. They report the increased jobless numbers as if businesses all spontaneously decided to close within the same two week period in March and it is all the Presidents fault! They ignore the virus and MANDATORY shut downs ordered by the state governments and shelter in place ordered by state governments.

My Democrat governor just added additional requirements on business that are still open. Anyone angry yet.

Destroying the economy has been the goal to get rid of Orange Man Bad. There are trillions at stake for the Bush's, the Kerry's, the Kennedy's, the Biden's, the Obama's of the world. You dumb hicks who put an outsider in office need to be punished.

Let's talk about the number of Americans whose net worth, what they've worked their entire lives for, has plummeted because of China virus hysteria. No $1200 goobermint handout will help that.

THIS is why you should have a "rainy day fund". My first version, saved up in the first six months of my post college employment, was set at three months of take home pay. Later, it went higher, allowed us to cover 6 months of mortgage, other fixed expenses.
Be responsible, take care of yourself, do not be a whiner, asking for a handout.
