Prince Harry could be forced to give up
Duke of Sussex title after moving to
California

Original Article

The Duke and Duchess will step down as senior members of the Royal Family at the end of this month and have now set up a permanent home in Los Angeles. The pair flew to California by private jet just before Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shut the border. But Meghan and Harry now face the prospect of being forced to give up their nobility if they are to be settled in the US full-time. The Oath of Allegiance act must be taken by any new US citizen under the Naturalisation Law.

Comments:

This article assumes that Harry will eventually become a U.S. citizen. I doubt the marriage will last long enough for that to happen. I see a train wreck when these two discover how unpopular they are.

Meghan is a US citizen, and as such has the right to file an immediate relative petition with the federal immigration authorities to classify Harry as her immediate relative spouse. There is no way that there could be any legitimate insinuation of any fraud involved with the petition since Harry and Meghan live together and have a child born to them. So Meghan’s petition will be approved. The next step to a legal immigration status for Harry should to be taken by Harry himself. He must file an application for permanent residence in the USA with the federal immigration authorities basing his eligibility on Meghan’s approved immediate relative petition. Since there is no indication that Harry is excludable from the USA for any reason, Harry’s application will be approved. Harry will then be granted the status of a lawful permanent resident in the USA and will be issued a so-called “Green Card” that evidences Harry’s right to live and work in the USA indefinitely. There is no requirement in the US immigration and nationality laws that requires Harry to ever apply for US citizenship. So Harry if he wishes can simply keep his foreign citizenship.

I doubt it. HM uncle didn't give up his title or royal status just because he abdicated. What we are seeing is royals who are down the succession ladder are now going out and trying to make a life for themselves, with jobs and everything. People can't have it both ways. Don't be hating on the royals that go out and try to make employment for themselves. Rumor has it that if Charles outlives his mum and becomes King, he is going to chop that List down to size. Lots of the royals will be removed from that List and the resulting chaos should be most entertaining.

I don't think anyone needs to worry about Harry losing his Title. He can be in the US for three years before he will have to renounce his Royalty. I'm going to say, here and now, that he and Dear Meghan won't be married by then. He will see her for the Witch she is. Sadly, she will have a large portion of his Wealth by then and will probably fight him for custody of Archie.

CAPITOL HILL AUTONOMOUS ZONE (CHAZ) — The residential area in Seattle taken over by protesters and dubbed the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” (CHAZ) may have block party vibes, but it is punctuated with power struggles and infighting. The Daily Caller had reporters on the ground in CHAZ, the roughly six-block neighborhood that has been deemed a cop-free zone by activists. The area includes Seattle Police Department’s East Precinct, which was abandoned before a few cops returned and were “assessing the building” Thursday.   Correction*

A Virginia man who was struck by a falling Confederate statue during a protest flatlined twice on the way to the hospital and was placed in a coma, according to his wife. Chris Green, 45, of Portsmouth, was one of the hundreds of Virginians who descended onto the streets Wednesday to protest police brutality and the death of George Floyd, an African-American man who died while in police custody. Protesters rallied at the Confederate monument in Olde Towne Portsmouth after the City Council earlier that night put off decisions on potentially removing the statue. Former president George W. Bush released a curious statement on Tuesday addressing the riots across the country: It remains a shocking failure that many African Americans, especially young African American men, are harassed and threatened in their own country…. This tragedy, in a long series of similar tragedies, raises a long overdue question: How do we end systemic racism in our society?… The doctrine and habits of racial superiority, which once nearly split our country, still threaten our Union. Bush may have meant well, but his words, being inaccurate, aren’t doing Americans any favors. As Heather Mac Donald wrote recently in City Journal,

Why is this case the one inciting mass protests? Ninety-nine percent of the country is denouncing the Minneapolis police in the most damnable terms possible over the death of George Floyd. The 99% are demanding that the 1% “hear their voices”? The arrest certainly looks awful. Everything is going along relatively peacefully as Floyd is walked to a police van, then there’s some commotion out of sight of the camera — and suddenly you see Floyd pinned to the ground, an officer’s knee on his neck. How did that happen? One reason some of us are waiting for all the facts is that we suspect the media

We are making an important change today in our writing style. When referring to a culture, ethnicity or group of people from the African diaspora we will use “Black,” with an uppercase B. We are making this change to NJ Advance Media’s style guide to acknowledge and respect the word represents a people with shared cultures and experiences, and not a color. Black, we believe, should be used like other identifiers, such as “Asian,” “Latino” or “African American.” We also will continue to use “African American” in stories when warranted, as “African American” and “Black” aren’t always interchangeable.
