Democrats need to recruit Obama to
bench Biden, find another candidate

It is a given in politics that an incumbent has the advantage until things go wrong, at which point the challenger gets an edge. Then why, amidst panic, death and economic shutdown, is Joe Biden looking like the sick man of 2020?
Biden’s predicament is odd considering a key pillar of Donald Trump’s presidency — record low unemployment — is being vaporized. Thursday’s 3.3 million new unemployment claims wiped out nearly half the jobs created in the last three years, and the worst is yet to come.

"Find another candidate" Yup.
But people have looked all in every nook and cranny of the Democrat party and they couldn't find a single one. The party is so corrupted by mindless and hypomanic liberalism it has no effective leaders. The cupboard is bare. Anyone capable of analyzing an obvious problem and coming up with a realistic solution left the party two decades a go.
Example? One of dozens: All ten top Democrat leaders in the July debate all solemnly raised their arms to demand free health care for illegal aliens, a totally impractical policy that would be reviled by 80% of the electorate.

Obama was the one who chose Biden in the first place. Or at least he accepted the recommendation of Caroline Kennedy. There's no reason to think he would choose wisely this time.

The Dems are between a rock and a hard place. If Biden is their choice, he will likely self-destruct. If the DNC ignores the primaries and picks someone else (not Bernie), they will have a lot of angry voters who may chose to stay home.

The "other" candidate has already been anointed. We just are not being told yet. They are not running Biden if they think they have a chance of winning.

Why, why, why does Goodwin, or any other conservative commentator, think they should offer advice to the evil party? Shut up! Make observations about the pathetic positions Joe, Bernie, and the others hold, but do NOT give them any ideas or game plan for them.

If Obama is smart and he thinks this out he would steer clear of the doddering old fool Biden. The Obama's never liked him and you could tell so why step up now to reject or to support the gaff a minute low IQ idiot. The Obama's life is going too well to play in politics again unless they really crave what has driven Hillary Clinton mad and that's power.

Always enjoy Goodwin. But Nancy? An 80 year old woman in a mini skirt? Maxine Waters would be a better choice.

Yeah, that's who should make the choice, the guy who golfed poorly for eight years while behaving like a child and ruining the country. Maybe he could talk the Revrum Al or Maxine Waters into taking the job.

There is only one thing to do if you want a future in this country. Make sure Democrats do not win the Presidency, House or Senate.

If the Democrats deep six Joseph Biden and don’t pick Bernie Sanders who ran all the way through the Democrat caucus and primaries, and instead pick a grandstanding politician who did not run in the Democrat caucuses and primaries, it is easy to understand why Sander’s supporters are going to be mightily offended. What happens then with Sander’s supporters will be anyone’s guess.

Too funny. BO: "You really don't have to do this Joe." And if you do I will have to throw you under the bus.
The problem with this is, what is in it for narcissist BO? Right now, challenging Trump is like running into a buzz saw. The desperate dems have tried everything and most of them are missing limbs because of it. Media has been reduced to gibbering monkeys. BO will only get engaged when there is already a clear path to victory. This is Mr. Lead From Behind, remember? Beyond that, when did BO do anything for the party? Under his watch, they lost Congress, governorships, and state legislatures.
All the problems that are going on in the economy are BECAUSE of the virus. Americans get that. Likening it to a war is pitch perfect. With wars there is suffering and unpredictability and people KNOW that. People in wars get injured and killed. With the virus, people will get sick and some will die. That's a given and it is happening all over the world. Trump is working out of the pandemic playbook and people know it. As soon as there are signs it is working well enough, he will quickly pivot to economic recovery. A lot of the dems and media are going to be shown up as completely wrong and as the economy recovers, Trump will be seen as even more successful.
Cuomo has a lot of baggage associated with NY being so unprepared for this virus. He was governor for 9 years while their preparedness was undermined. Trump is being gracious about that now. If Cuomo is his opponent, Cuomo will not come off well, especially if the federal government under Trump has to bail Cuomo out, which is exactly what Cuomo seems to be begging to happen. Cuomo couldn't manage a state, financially or in dealing with a pandemic. You want to put him in charge of the Country?
The dems are desperate. They may ditch Biden and grab Cuomo, incidentally screwing over Bernie again. It won't matter much. Like everything else they have tried to do, it will just push them further down the drain.
