Yikes, the text of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) has been released (full pdf below). The Senate took H.R.748 stripped it out, and replaced the text with this bill. The full 50 page senate record of the activity is available here.
Digging in now. However, at first blush the size of the spending seems to be a considerable state budget deficit bailout [similar to how Obamacare removed the healthcare pension liabilities from unions]. Here’s the BILL:

So it sounds like a bailout for the public employees and unionized teachers, firefighters, and police pension funds, Also covers state budget shortfalls for lost income and sales tax revenues. Trying to determine how much of the proposed spend is actually for the $1,200 checks each citizen would be getting. I can't tell yet how large and small businesses are being compensated.

I'm in the business of selling supplies to hotels (guess what, business is bad). Was on the call to one of my customers this morning and the hotel owner asked me what he thought he would get from the aid bill. MInd you, he runs a couple 100 bed limited service hotels, much like you'd see in any small town or suburban neighborhood.
I told him that my experience with stuff like this is that there must be a line at the bottom of the bill that says "whatever this law provides, (me) and (you) are not gonna get a nickel from this." He laughed and agreed with me.

Let's face it. Anytime America's only Native Criminal Class (House and Senate) actually DO any of their job, i.e. creating legislation, they view it first and foremost as an opportunity and invitation to 1) stick it to Joe Public; 2) loot the public treasury for themselves and friends e.g. unions, banks, lawyers etc.

Obama's "stimulus" was more about providing money to states and cities to cover the lost $$$ to ensure they'd be able to pay their employees, which includes teachers since most are paid by local property taxes.
I would not doubt much of this "phase 3" bill does much of the same, and includes extra to pad union pension funds to ensure they'll always get paid - you see, pension obligations come FIRST, before any other state, city and county expenses, which means if they're short on $$, other services get squeezed, and you know the Fox guards the Henhouse, right?

I strongly disagree, #4. I believe the first and foremost priority is to loot the treasury. That is screws over the average person is just a side benefit.

So in spite of the outcry against Pelosi's grandstanding attempt to hijack Trump's attempt to help the American people, we're getting screwed anyway?
Why am I not surprised. Oh well. Second verse, same as the first.

#1, I can't speak for all public employees, but I believe most are being paid (many working at home). I suppose the money to the states will cover that, in part at least.

Are all these trillions going to stay in the budget year after year like Piglousi and Dirty Harry did to Barry's wasteful $1T to their and his cronies?
