Chris Cuomo blasts Trump for saying 'Chinese
virus': 'It could have come from anywhere'

CNN commentator Chris Cuomo admonished President Trump for repeatedly calling the coronavirus "the Chinese virus." “Calling it the Chinese virus or the Wuhan virus or the Kung Flu. Listen, you may think it's clever, but it's hurting,” Cuomo said on his nightly show on Wednesday. “The idea, ‘Well, it did come from China.’ Then why doesn't Fauci and other top health officials, why don’t they call it that? You know why? Because it could have come from anywhere.” The virus, which has sparked a global pandemic, is believed to have originated in an animal market in Wuhan, China. Trump has said he uses the phrase "Chinese virus" for accuracy purposes.

Comments:

Sorry, Fredo! Wuhan Flu doesn't care about political correctness or hurt feelings. The virus originated in China, not anywhere else. And whining about semantics won't change that!!

THIS is what the media is investing their reputations in? These people must enjoy looking like idiots. At the moment, Trump OWNS the public stage in dealin with this emergency. They MUST give it to him. He is appearing presidential and is surrounded by experts and people who appreciate the competent way he is dealing with the Chinese virus, even dem governors. Meanwhile some reporters are completing to be the dumbest on air and in follow up "analysis". They also choose to air panicked doctors posting on social media their concerns about the lack of supplies and slowness of tests. You have to wonder if these doctors are talking to people who can actually work with them to resolve the problem or just whining about it? The government already KNOWS these shortages and problems exist and production has ramped up significantly. Given a couple weeks, sufficient supplies will be available. The positive turnaround is largely due to targeted government actions and cutting of red tape, all the right things to do. No, we weren't completely ready for a pandemic. I would venture that no one is ever fully prepared for the worst events life has to offer. You always have to play catch up when they happen. The reality is, it would be impossible to be prepared for all possible bad events. The efforts and costs to be ready for things that may never happen in our lifetime are prohibitive. We do the best we can. Meanwhile, we are all trying to keep the Chinese virus in abeyance by staying at home as much as possible and practicing high levels of sanitation. Right now, that's the best we can do.

President Trump said American businesses are actively stepping to help combat the coronavirus by changing their factories over to making goods and equipment needed by health care workers. On Friday, President Donald Trump announced that he invoked the Korean War-era Defense Production Act, which allows the government to marshal the private sector to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. But on Saturday, Trump said he has not had to use those powers because so many companies are voluntarily repurposing their facilities. “We have so many companies making so many products,” Trump said. “We have the act to use in case we need it,

It’s a strange time. And, to me, it’s an interesting time. We’re living in a situation we’ve never before seen, one we likely (or, hopefully) will never see again. The world’s operating differently, and with that change comes opportunity — to live differently, and also, in some ways, to do better. Amid the challenges — as in times past — if you want to see the heart of America, look at her in moments of crisis. When there’s a need, we come together. And some people are using the current state of quarantine, social distancing, and closures to help others.

The Whole of America   On March 13, President Trump declared a “whole of America approach” to fighting the coronavirus. And on March 17, he reinforced that point, tweeting, “The world is at war with a hidden enemy. WE WILL WIN!” And at his press conference on March 18, the self-described “wartime president” emphasized, “We’re going to win, we’re going to come back.” Thus we can see, the president is determined to set a tone of militant activist optimism; he pledged a stronger healthcare system in the future, but before we get there, he added, “We have to win the war first.”
