On Saturday night news broke of the first confirmed coronavirus case in St. Louis and Missouri. A 20-year-old woman who was studying in Italy tested positive at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. The woman in her 20’s was released from the hospital and told to self-quarantine along with her parents at their home in Ladue. But the family did not quarantine. The family of Missouri’s first coronavirus patient broke curfew hours later to attend the father-daughter dance at Villa Duchesne on Saturday night. The father and daughter also attended a preparty at the home of a fellow student. Now the entire school Villa Duchesne will be closed on Monday.

When you clearly cannot trust people to self-quarantine, the logical solution is forced quarantine. One thing to consider would be a hefty fine if they do break quarantine but by then, the damage is done. People are so self-absorbed that they would put others at risk in order to do what they want. It really is a sad commentary on our society. You must think of others when it comes to matters of health and spreading disease. Some people just do not have the capacity for that.

Remember the ebola nurse who broke quarantine to visit a bridal shop? She justified it afterward by saying it turned out she didn't have it. That was the grace of God and not her good sense. Further, the news of what she'd done DESTROYED the shop's business. So it wasn't at all a case of no harm done. What do these two idiots think they have managed to do to the daughter's social life? She's now as close to a medieval leper as you can get. After all the cleaning, testing, and worry she's put her hosts & fellow guests through, who'll invite her anywhere again soon? Miss a dance out of caution versus be a selfish jerk and miss all the rest of the dances ever because you've put everyone to trouble & fear. Idiots.

I would say that anyone who breaks quarantine like this needs to be legally prosecuted for spreading an infectious disease that has no known cure. Anyone who catches this thanks to the selfishness of that family needs to institute civil proceedings and take them to the cleaners. The selfishness of people anymore is absolutely appalling.

In the grip of the current hysteria, if someone gets sick there will be community repercussions. I don't mean violence, but at least ostracization. Maybe it is all overwrought...nonetheless... BTW: Does self-quarantine mean never leaving your house? It's not like the virus is airborne/transmitted over distances. According to the CDC: The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. - Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet). [Like these viruses can jump from person to person like fleas?] - Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby [like within 6 feet?] or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

Nancy Pelosi sat before a group of Northwestern University students on Monday morning and said, “Civilization as we know it is at stake.” No, she wasn’t talking about the coronavirus, she was talking about if President Trump wins the election. This is the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives explaining the constitution to young, impressionable minds. How did we get to the point where Democrats would send spies into their opponents political campaign, fabricate a scandal to prevent him from winning, and spend his entire first term trying to remove him from office? For some odd reason, as the number of cases of the Wuhan virus in America has grown, some Democratic politicians including failed presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren have bizarrely suggested the United States completely divert funding from the border wall to combat the virus. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand why this is not just a bad idea. It’s a really, really stupid idea, too. Nevertheless, Democrats are so obsessed over border wall funding that emergency funding to fight the Wuhan virus was initially stalled as House Speaker Pelosi Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and other House Democratic leaders worked last month to make sure President Trump

The battle lines are still being drawn in the effort to save women’s and girls’ competitive sports in the United States and the fight has now moved on to Ohio. In the Buckeye State, legislators have introduced a new bill with the appropriate name of the Save Womens’ Sports Act. Much like similar legislation being debated around the country, this measure would bar boys who “identify” as girls from competing in girls’ sports for all of the usual and obvious reasons. This measure would apply to all public schools and colleges, as well as private schools and colleges that are members of a state or national athletic association.

In the spring of 2010, sixteen-year-old Kaleif Browder, an African-American resident of the Bronx, NY, was charged with robbery. He was accused of stealing a backpack. His family could not afford bail, so he was sent to Rikers Island Prison, where he remained for three years. Two of those years were spent in solitary confinement. During that time, he was not “tried or convicted of a crime.” Following his release, Browder committed suicide. Browder’s story is tragic. That such a thing could have happened is a disgrace. Clearly, action needed to be taken to make sure this never happened again.

A former adviser to President Bill Clinton said he’s concerned about 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s mental acuity. Dick Morris, who was Clinton’s political adviser and later campaign manager, argued that the former vice president’s memory lapses make President Trump’s reelection more likely. “I don’t think that Biden has much of a chance of defeating Trump. I think that Biden is a very fragile candidate,” Morris told radio show host John Catsimatidis on Sunday. “He has risen from the dead, but the ashes still remain. I think he’s incredibly vulnerable on the Hunter Biden issue. I think his gaffes raise serious questions about his mental ability.”

Until last Sunday, Joe Biden was just a doddering old pol with his best days behind him, unimpressive in every presidential debate and certainly nothing special on the stump. His performance in the first three presidential contests was embarrassing, and, to make matters worse, Biden was showing clear signs of mental decline, such as false memories (in fairness, it could just be dishonesty) and bizarre delusions. After Super Tuesday, Biden is still the exact same guy described above, but he’s also the Democrats’ new front-runner. Biden, whose primary campaign was on the way out, suddenly finds himself in a marriage of convenience with Democratic voters,

MSNBC’s Joy Reid just took that concept to a new level by suggesting the children of Trump supporters are a threat to other people’s kids. Obviously, if Trump thinks Coronavirus is a hoax (he doesn’t) and his supporters follow his every word (they don’t) then it follows in Joy’s mind that the children of these people are dangerous. How is it that Chris Matthews is out of a job, but Joy Reid remains on the air? Mark Finkelstein reports at Newsbusters: President Trump has not called coronavirus a hoax.
