MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace looks gleeful at idea
that coronavirus could be ‘Trump’s Katrina’

MSNBC opinion host Nicolle Wallace and her guest Eddie Glaude — a left-wing professor of African-American Studies — cheerfully panted over their hope that the coronavirus could become so apocalyptic that it would destroy Donald Trump’s presidency. Wallace and Glaude got giddy the same way that vultures and hyenas salivate over a rotting carcass. Glaude wondered if the financial community will finally stop supporting President Trump since the stock market was volatile this week amid the coronavirus epidemic. “We talked about the business community finally not sticking with Donald Trump,” Glaude crowed. “This may be and — I should mention this with a little trepidation — but this may be Donald Trump’s Katrina.”

And we lose on the average about 50,000 a year (25k to 75k), in America alone, to whatever strain of Influenza is being passed around from person to person in Child Care, Church Services, Senior Centers, Doctor's Waiting Rooms and Old Folks Homes? Well, it’s not every day that a former Obama staffer honestly assesses the state of the upcoming November election, much less Obama’s former campaign manager, yet, here we are. President Trump is “very dangerous” to Joe Biden’s bid for president because of his loyal supporters, according to David Plouffe. Plouffe, speaking on the “Fox News Rundown” podcast Thursday predicted that there will be a historic level of voter turnout in support of the president when election day comes in November. The pandemic and the economic consequences of the coronavirus outbreak aside, Trump voters will come out and support him for re-election.

Normally I’m a “glass half empty” guy. But reading this fascinating WSJ piece about how a single soccer match helped seed Italy’s catastrophe makes it easy to look at the glass half full, even at a moment as grim as we’re in. As bad as things are right now, consider how much wider the contagion might be if St. Patrick’s Day parades and pub crawls had been held as scheduled. New York City’s parade was canceled less than a week before the big day. So were Boston’s and Chicago’s. Imagine millions of people across the country shoulder to shoulder in the streets and in bars, passing this plague around

Whether or not it was spawned in that wet market or the Wuhan lab as a bio weapon, China seems to be using it as a cudgel in a diabolical attempt to bring the U.S. to its knees. Trump likely knows this but for a moment must accede to the hysteria. China thought they had us between the rock and the hard place since they produce so many of our needed drugs, beginning with Tylenol and all manner of antibiotics.

Joe Biden has a problem: With all eyes on coronavirus, and Trump functioning as the Commander in Chief during what amounts to a war, complete with a wartime economy, Biden has become irrelevant. Because he’s older and therefore vulnerable to the virus, he can’t even leave his house. Instead, he’s hidden away. This is a lousy situation for someone who is trying to become president in the next election. During his stumbling video appearances, Biden has three available tactics: (1) He can support the president during this crisis, (2) he can criticize the president, and (3) he can offer opposing solutions. Biden refuses to do Item One,

Consumer Goods Shortages In the Soviet era, central planners had to continually balance national security and consumer demand for goods and manufacturing output. National security always won out, resulting in chronic food and consumer goods shortages across the communist bloc. These shortages will be simulated by inadequate supply of chosen items, such as toilet paper, surgical gloves, and masks. Assigned homework will consist of standing in long lines for such items and wandering various stores

Pressure is mounting for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to return $25 million it received from the massive federal coronavirus bailout package signed into law last week after its president was heard on leaked audio telling staffers their jobs would still be lost. And one lawmaker has even introduced a bill to have the funds rescinded. The audio, recorded during an internal conference call with staff, revealed how executives at the Washington, DC arts icon lobbied lawmakers for the massive handout from the $2 trillion national aid package — but then furloughed more than 700 staffers. Wisconsin GOP Rep. Bryan Steil introduced a bill to rescind the $25 million in funding,

But the effort to keep voters from going to the polls in person Nov. 3 faces legislative and financial roadblocks. The price for states to change their methods of voting could pass $2 billion, Axios said. And 12 states don’t allow voters to cast ballots by mail. The mass hysteria over COVID-19 in the U.S. is driven in large measure by misleading statistics and bad math about the disease’s body count.
