The Coronavirus has panicked Americans across the country. Places like Costco and Walmart and being wiped out of disinfectant wipes, paper towels and toilet paper. As the hysteria continues to grow, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) decided to debunk a number of claims that are being perpetrated by both Democrats and the mainstream media. [Tweets] One of the ads failed 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg ran was about the Trump administration. In the ad, he claimed the Trump administration cut funding from the Center for Disease Control. "This is false. They haven't," Crenshaw explained. This entire episode should be a wake-up call to people who make fun of "preppers". True, folks can go overboard getting ready for some meteor strike that would end life as we know it. OTOH, today's society is populated by folks with "on-time", "next-day-delivery" habits. People who go to the store after they run out of something. Because the shelves are always full. Being ready to "self-isolate" or take care of a family when there is a disruption of normal distribution and availability is only good sense. Being caught on the back foot, unable to access what you need does not indicate good sense. After this virus episode is over, perhaps some habits of thinking and behaving might change. And for those who don't and won't change anything, trying laughing at those ridiculous preppers when something truly awful does happen. Not if. When.

Thanks, #3. We bought non-refundable tickets to UK a week ago, have no plans of modifying our vacation, or wearing masks. Will we wipe down the armrests and tray in the aircraft with disinfectant? Yes. Beyond that, I plan on no particular changes in routine. We'll see how this progresses, keeping an open mind. So far, seems greatly overblown, not nearly as big as the widely ignored common flu.

This is not about being prepared. This is about idiots running into Costco and buying all their toilet paper, Kleenex and paper towels. I live in Spokane and Costco has no toilet paper or Kleenex. There were a dozen people standing around in shock at the empty shelves. Same for Walmart. What are the rest of us supposed to do? What next, hoarders grabbing all the meat, milk and eggs?

President Donald Trump has decided to skip the annual Congressional St. Patrick’s Day lunch on Capitol Hill, according to Politico‘s Playbook. “Since the Speaker [of the House Nancy Pelosi] has chosen to tear this Nation apart with her actions and her rhetoric, the President will not participate in moments where she so often chooses to drive discord and disunity, and will instead celebrate the rich history and strong ties between the United States and Ireland at the White House on March 12,” White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere said in a statement. Stelter said, “Trump is doing things that undermine the response. He’s continuing to contradict health experts by saying anybody can get a test, which is not true right now. Not true. His behavior at the CDC on Friday spoke volumes about his mindset. He wore a campaign hat to the event. He asked about Fox’s ratings. He insulted the Democratic governor of Washington state and brought up the Ukraine scandal.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published a list Tuesday of qualified disinfectants to use for protection against the coronavirus. “The EPA-registered disinfectant products on our Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2 list have qualified under EPA’s emerging viral pathogen program for use against SARS-CoV-2, a coronavirus that causes COVID-19,” the website stated. Coronaviruses are enveloped viruses, which means they are among the easiest types to kill with the appropriate disinfectant, according to the EPA. There may be additional disinfectants that meet the criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2. EPA will update this list with additional products as needed,” the agency stated.

It's barely gotten any press, but just ahead of Super Tuesday, a large urban center in Tennessee, around Nashville, was hit with a horrific tornado, blowing buildings into matchsticks, and leaving 24 dead. Super Tuesday, the coronavirus, and other stuff left Nashville kind of a backburner news story. But not to President Trump, who put Tennessee's ordeal up for attention in his Tweets, offering encouragement and support, as well as a swift release of aid. He paid a swift visit to the area to be with the hard-hit Tennesseans, in Putnam County's Cookeville, 80 miles east of Nashville, where the worst of it happened.

CNN correspondent Hilary Rosen, although white, was a good friend of America’s first black president. White House visitor logs from 2012 show that she’d visited the White House 35 times. Now though, Rosen’s race relations aren’t so good. That’s because, after first correcting a black woman’s take on a Martin Luther King, Jr. quotation, she then referred to “angry black women.” Ruh-roh. The trigger occurred when Rosen, representing Joe Biden’s interests, and Nina Turner, a Bernie campaign co-chair, appeared on CNN with Chris Cuomo. In the snippet that exploded, Turner contended that King warned blacks that white liberals were too comfortable to be useful allies.

Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders is still mumbling about billionaires, signaling that he’s not serious about doing what it takes to win the race. While Biden may represent a larger threat to Trump in a general election, he’s still a ripe target for political ridicule and the sights are starting to turn on one specific thing. Ben Carson argued during a congressional hearing this week that the rights of transgender individuals in federally funded homeless shelters do not override the rights of abused women. Quigley argued that HUD was essentially saying "that if someone doesn't like someone else in that shelter, for whatever reasons, that you can allow discrimination against those people."

Stress, they say, is a killer. So let’s take a moment to feel sorry for Bill Clinton, who now claims he took advantage of Monica Lewinsky to “manage my anxieties” while president. Bill being Bill, there will be no real apology coming, just some typical and expected minimizing. “But whatever,” he says. “What I did was bad, but it wasn’t like — how can I think about the most stupid thing I could do and do it.” This is from a new documentary on Hillary, a for-hire job meant to canonize her and the would-be Clinton dynasty. And in typical Clinton fashion, they refuse to take the memo: Post-#MeToo, Bill is forever a liability.

Except I don’t believe in magic – or coincidence, for that matter – when it comes to politics. Everything happens for a reason and, in the case of Democrats in particular, for personal or party gain (or both). Democrat operatives have been bleating the conventional wisdom throughout the Democrat-media echo chamber that Biden has “pulled off one of the most spectacular turn-arounds in presidential primary history,”

All the more so because Joe Biden is the clear front-runner and the dreaded Bernie Sanders looks to be fading. So it’s all set. Biden will be the nominee and give the party a solid chance of scoring a November trifecta: beating President Trump, taking the Senate and holding the House. Count me as skeptical. Instead of a smooth ride, it’s more likely that the Dems’ desperate search for a Trump slayer will hit more turbulence and an alternative to Biden still could be necessary.
