President Donald Trump defended his aggressive style on Thursday in Pennsylvania, noting that he had to fight back against his political enemies.
Trump commented during his Fox News town hall on Thursday night in Scranton, Pennsylvania after a businessman asked him about his combative style.
“When they hit us, we have to hit back,” Trump replied. “I feel that.”
Trump acknowledged that he could either “turn the other cheek” or fight back.
“I wouldn’t be sitting here if I turned my cheek,” he said.
Trump said he was constantly under attack from his political opponents and admitted that he would not be president if he was not as combative.
It’s about time that Conservatives had someone to fight back, rather than trying to be liked by the MSM, and reaching across the aisle garbage.

They’ve unsuccessfully tried removing our president, but Dems can get away with anything they want. Chuck Schumer can threaten Supreme Court justices, a hateful Donna Brazile can curse out RNC chair, Ronna McDaniel, Spike Lee can compare black Trump supporters to house slaves, Comrade Bernie Sanders can defend Fidel Castro’s communist Cuba, and Nasty Nancy Pelosi can delay Coronavirus funding bill so Dems can run anti-GOP ads, thus politicizing a likely killer pandemic. It just goes on and on. What next? –Vets for Trump 2020

For decades, I observed republicans "reaching across the aisle" only to have their hand bitten repeatedly. President Trump knows the only way to deal with democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) is to slap them back twice as hard, and I like that. It is fun watching them, as they are not used to being on defense.

President Trump was so great at his town hall... saying the right things with humor and style! (Dull, tunnel-visioned Dems simply cannot compete with his humor and mastery of verbal events.) The two 'moderators' tried to control... but the audience and we at home wanted to hear HIM. We must give him the House and Senate to continue the fight to save America from predatory, evil Communists and Islamists... we DO love our children!

Beyond the absolute NEED to fight back if we want to preserve our Republic, consider what Trump has actually done.
He has called the media "fake news". Oh, how terrible. I feel like swooning. But, the media has been particularly mendacious lately.
He is enforcing established laws. Dearie me, how could he consider upholding the Constitution and body of law? Of course there was something in his oath of office about doing that.
He is appointing judges that follow established law. How dare he?! However, activist judges are a relatively recent liberal corruption and Trump does have the Constitutional power to appoint judges that are more to his way of viewing the courts.
He has cut taxes. Oh, the humanity. It is certainly an unusual thing to put Washington on a diet. No one likes to diet.
He has cut out a lot of regulations. Whatever shall we do without all that red tape to hold Washington together? But there still remain 10s of thousands so things are still relatively well secured.
He dared to verbally resist the charges Mueller investigated. Why didn't he just curl into a ball and die? He did cooperate completely with the investigation and ordered all his subordinates to as well to the point where all thoughts of obstruction of justice were reduced to absurdity.
He dared to talk to a foreign country and suggest there were some irregularities that involved the US that needed looking at. Impeach him!!! But that fell apart and most people admit that the things that Trump thought should be looked at do stink pretty badly.
He has pointed out that dems are foolish. Hmmmm, well you have to give him that one.
So Trump's "combat" has been carrying out legal presidential actions and calling out the liberal establishment as liars, which has been demonstrated to be true, over and over. The liberals are complaining about Trump's effectiveness. His presidential actions are completely legal and within precedent and his words are far milder than the daily dose from most dems and liberals. He just refuses to be bound by liberals and forced to capitulate like so many Republicans before him. Instead liberals and their dogma is being crushed. They are losing and they hate it.

President Trump did great in the Town Hall style talk with the American people, he should do at least one such Town Hall each week until the November election and watch the liberal Democrats squeal. Biden is already fraudulently extrapolating Trump’s comments claiming that Trump intends to cut Medicare and Social Security when in actuality Trump said no such thing.

As I watched this townhall last night, one thought occurred to me. The I-wish-he’d-tone-down-the-rhetoric-and-stop-the-tweeting crowd are the same type of virtue-signalers that gave us Barack Obama. They just want things to be “nice”, in order that we see what good people THEY are. Direct, confrontational people make them nervous, and deeply disturb their notions of what it means to be a “good” person. We have a lot of those types in the Midwest. Well, let me tell you something. In the battle between good and evil, God needs warriors, just as much as He needs peacemakers. Jesus didn’t spit on the Roman soldier and call him a fascist. He healed his son, and praised the soldier’s faith. There is a reason for St. Michael the Archangel.

First time in at least a hundred years that Republicans have decided to fight rather than go along.
Hit back? Long overdue. Time to fight.
The Deep State is a wounded tiger; wounded animals will do strange things in order to survive. Beware the wounded bureaucrat.
Remember; we got Coronavirus on our shores because of bureaucrats who knew better than Trump.
What wonderful protectors these nameless unelected rulers are!
It is time to clean house. And that means Nadler, Schiff, Pelosi, and all the rest must GO. Just go away. Do not come back. Ever. They can join Babs in Canada. If Canada will allow them in.
Get out and vote in November. MAGA!

I'm sick to death of this nonsense about the whining and complaints of bring us together; stop tweeting and he has a combative style. And quite frankly that woman that said her family wouldn't speak to her if she voted for Trump? Why is that his or we his supporters' fault? You can't fix that kind of stupid.
The Dems, media, deep state tried a coup against him. And people are still asking him to tone it down? Are you friggin' kidding me? Right now, and I believe this to my bones, Soros and company, the Dems and the media are doing everything they can to tank the stock market, create a panic of this flu like corona virus and usher in a recession that will be in full swing in September of 2020. Sound familiar? And he should watch his words?
I don't believe for a minute those were the questions that normal people would ask the president. As others have said they were Democrat talking points. Thanks Bret and Martha. One reason I won't watch either one of their shows. MAGA----KAG

I started watching the townhall but will have to do it in spurts. Early on, the question was asked about rhetoric. One point I wish Donald Trump would drive home is once something is said about a person, they may never get their reputation back.
We are a country that has a "innocent until proven guilty" justice system, right? It seems that anybody can cut a corner and rush over to the media and make any claim they want to and reputations are ruined. Look at what Billy Bush did to Donald Trump in 2016. He was running around playing a tape without Donald Trump's consent. The media was right there to give Bush a viewing audience. That was so wrong but I guess if you are running around with a tape recorder in your back pocket, you probably think it is okay.
Yes, I want us to fight back but I wish President Trump would talk about reputations lost.

When you get kicked in the nadges over and over, one tends to get combative. If you don't, what is wrong with you?!?
We should work together? That would imply there is a common ground. All to often there is none between competing ideologies.
Where is the common ground between law and order and lawlessness?
Where is the common ground with bullies and tyrants?
Where is the common ground between freedom and slavery?
Common ground implies there are things we can agree about. Who said we should always agree? Who ever said we are all suppose to see things the same way?
We will never all agree on Climate Change. We will never all agree on Healthcare. We will never agree with tyrants and bullies. We will never agree with people that believe in Socialist, Communist. or Islamic tyranny. We will never agree with people that believe we can spend money we don't have. We will never agree with robbers who think they are entitled to other people's money and property.
Trump see this. He is right.

Like him or not, George W. Bush (not to mention his father, George H. W. Bush) did not hit back against the media. After 9/11, his popularity was quite high. By the time he left office, it was in the 30 percent range. He did not hit back. And Democrats struck him mercilessly.
Jesus said to turn the other cheek. But that was not about politics. Jesus did overturn the tables of the money-changers who were taking advantage of worshipers (particularly poor worshipers) at the temple.
Mr. Trump is NOT Jesus Christ. But he is overturning the tables of the money-changers when he hits back at Democrats.

The assumption that the media is fair or that the rats have anything constructive for working, patriotic, Americans, is a dangerous delusion. They admit and prove time after time that they are working hard to promote destructive, perverse, ideas and behavior. They are partners in attacking the center and the right. The media thrives on the hate it creates. For them to pretend they are shocked at Trump's comments is the ultimate in hypocrisy. They don't understand why they haven't been able to break President Trump, but that is only because they never have met someone like him in DC or the media. The only businessmen they know are looking to score using any means necessary.
I am loving this Presidency. I admired President Eisenhower for many things, but even he, a wartime hero, apologized to the media instead of confronting their biased, rigged questions about communists in his administration. Donald Trump is revitalizing America in many ways. Thank goodness for him. Those people who are too stupid or afraid to educate their family or friends will have to grow a little bark and enjoy the ride upward. Poor souls who believe everything the TV tells them, have no idea how lucky they are to be alive during this rebirth of America. I guess they will survive being miserable in the greatest country as it corrects the destruction of 8 years with a fraud as President.

President Trump knows that he must counterattack leftist and liberal Democrats attacks that have been launched against him 24/7 usually by way of the so-called mainstream media that is actually a mouth organ of the Democrat Party. If Trump does not counterattack the Democrats no one else will, especially on most occasions not the wimpy Republicans

When I was 21 I voted for Goldwater-Nixon. I lived in MPLS at the time and my conservative cousin told me what I could expect from Sen. Humphrey and his DFL. Nothing has changed except the names and the liberals have only gotten bolder. It just defies reason that the GOP always plays the hang-dog with the Democrats UNTIL you realize that for the most part, both sides are in bed with each other. That is what hands across the aisle get you! I've never missed a primary or a general election in 50 something years and will crawl on broken glass to vote my choice--even if I am the only one. MAGA. KAG. Go Trump!

Years of "genteel capitulation" to the leftists in previous years has gained the GOP absolutely BUPKIS!! One of the main reasons I voted for President Trump in the first place is that he fights back against the leftists and their media handmaidens. And they STILL can't figure out how to deal with it!!
