Tom Steyer, the California activist billionaire who has largely been a nonfactor in the Democratic primary campaign, dropped out of the race on Saturday night.
Steyer's departure came after a disappointing finish in the South Carolina Democratic primary. With 70 percent of the vote in, Steyer had just 11.5 percent of the vote — despite spending millions of dollars on campaigning there.
"There’s no question today that this campaign, we were disappointed with where we came out," Steyer told supporters in Columbia, S.C.
"But I said if I didn’t see a path to winning that I'd suspend my campaign, and honestly I can't see a path where I can win the presidency."

Darn, I was sure that reparations to slaves trick would work this time. So people would really rather have jobs?
This loss will also give Bernie a much-needed punch in the gut and a slap across his commie kisser.

Well, no more throwing his money away....I would rather he blow it in his stupid campaign than backing crazy leftist policies.

Imagine the total amount being spent to elect a Dem. All for a job that pays $400k. Must be the perks, plus friends and family jobs.

I will miss his TV commercials -- of which there were many on TV here in Texas.
Whenever I was wired up, one of his commercials would come on, and I would literally fall asleep before it was over. That is one boring dude!!!!!

I’d say the only mourning going on over this is in advertising agencies and TV network advertising time sales offices.

Hopefully, Steyer (whack job) will also quit with the stupid ads to impeach Trump. I cringe every time I see them.

It's nice that he wasted all that money.

Looks like Mr. Climate couldn't generate enough interest in his issue no matter how much money he threw at it and how many invectives he threw at Trump. It's also another failure of ego, "I'm rich and I know what is good for everyone.". A smaller version of Mini Mike, Teenie Tiny Tom, but who could talk better. I guess when you have a massive amount of money, it's the money that talks.

Too bad, so sad. Just "couldn't get the message out." Go bust some moves with Juvenile.

Gee, I hope he at least got the compensatory, albeit very, very expensive, t-shirt.

He is more effective trying to defeat others as opposed to running himself.
He provided millions of dollars for advertising, but We the People just weren't buying.

After all that money spent, I and I'm sure many others are still asking the question: Who the heck is Tom Steyer?

I guess his reparations idea couldn't gain any traction.

He and his wife making azzes of themselves, trying to dance with rapper Juvenile, didn’t do the trick with the needed black vote. One of these days Steyer will find out that voters of all colors can spot a pandering phony a mile away. Does he remember the word that seemed to resonate the most about Donald J. Trump? “Authentic”. Steyer has never, ever shown a shred of authenticity. He knows we wouldn’t like what we saw.

Born and raised in New York City, on the Upper East Side, Steyer eventually landed in San Francisco. He is no Californian.
