Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s proposed Green New Deal would cost the average household nearly $75,000 in the first year in key swing states, driving the U.S. economy into a “steep economic depression,” according to a study released Wednesday. The study, conducted by the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute, Power the Future, and the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, examined the ambitious House and Senate resolution’s projected impact on energy costs in 11 states. In the first year, the Green New Deal would cost a typical household a minimum of $74,287, with annual costs falling to $47,755 per household in the next four years

The cost isn't the important issue. The lack of energy to power the "cloud" or homes, or factories, or city lights, or home heating, etc. is the COST. If we wanted to live in the stone age we could move to Iran.

In the TV mini series "Chernobyl" there is a scene where a nuclear scientist is having to answer to a Party member, and tells the Party member, "I remember when you sold shoes for a living", or something like that.
Now we are the same with a bartender.

I haven't heard a democrat lately that used the word Billion.
Most of the plans they have use the word Trillion, like it rolls off the tongue so easily

The Left are insufferable idiots and it is beyond tragic that we waste so much time listening to their moronic babble.
Imagine a skilled carpenter trying to build a house and for every board he tries to put in place an idiot tells him he should be doing something else. If he stopped to argue the point over every issue, he would never get the house built. Then the idiot would blame the carpenter for the failure.
THAT is what is happening in our Country today.
We MUST start pushing the idiots aside and stop wasting our time with them.

Looks like the only ones with any power will be the government run bakeries cooking up Bernie's bread for the government bread lines. Of course you will have to walk there because because cars will be illegal for us, but not them.

So for $6000+ per month, we get to give up our SUVs, our A/C, our gas powered furnace, and for many, our jobs. What a deal. Where do I sign up?

incorrect..
a certain number of "households" would be exempt because
they are on welfare or fall under an income level..
i would guess that 50-70% of the total households would fall into
that category (possible new Dem voters),
leaving around 40% to take the hit..
about $185,717 per participating household ($74,287/.40)

Only 75K to save the whales? Honey, call the banker and let's take out a second mortgage on the house. I know...we are retiring...but AOC needs our money! Where can I write the check? Directly to AOC or to a super pac that will make sure she get's my cash! I feel really great, now!

The plan would consume multiples of every dollar contributed per household, setting aside that the Fed Gov already spends more than it collects, atop a debt that's impossible to settle. This economist/barmaid will be an outstanding running mate for the Brooklyn communist.
