Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood appeared to throw his support behind former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg for president.
“The best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there,” the 89-year-old said in a profile published last week.
Eastwood expressed support for “certain things” President Trump has done but isn’t a fan of how divided politics has become.
“The politics has gotten so ornery,” he said as he hunched his shoulders during an interview with the Wall Street Journal's Tunku Varadarajan.
Eastwood said he wished Trump would conduct himself “in a more genteel way, without tweeting and calling people names.

Absurd. In case the Hollywood bubble is extra thick, they are literally trying to kill us, Clint. He really seems to not have a clue about what the left has been doing to this President and his family for the last 4 years. If it were any one of us or Clint Eastwood, they is an excellent chance there would be more than tweets and descriptive names being thrown around. BTW, Clint the empty chair guy used the full weight of the Federal government to ruin and destroy anyone he didn't like. Far, far worse than a tweet than can be ignored. I'll take a nasty name in the news vs a SWAT team and illegal surveillance any day.

Clint, the best advice for Hollywood stars is to stay out of politics. You just totally disappointed half of your fan base. You might feel one way, but express an opinion of neutrality in public. It is not necessary to take sides. You should know better.

Translation: You Republicans are so darn ornery because you are now fighting back under Trump. He shouldn't Tweet and get his message out directly to the people or call people names who have no problem calling him and supporters names and literally attacking them.
He's either senile or has forgotten his most popular roles was when he played characters who stood up to the bureaucracy and injustice. A friend of mine from decades ago actually saw Clint Eastwood at the Hogsbreath one day, and sorry to say, his perception was Clint's brain was fried a long time ago.

Well...going to try and be kind here. If you have seen Clint lately, you would quickly surmise that age finally caught up with him too. He was never very tough about Obama so I am not that surprised!!

I read the quote. It is at the very end of the article. He said “The best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there.” Note he did not say the White House (as the headline indicates). I am not sure he meant Bloomberg winning the White House - he may have meant Bloomberg winning the Democrat nomination. Perhaps he wants the country to avoid the risk of a Democrat Socialist (Sanders) winning the White House. So the best thing we could do is get Mike Bloomberg in there.

Clint bought into the "needs to be more presidential" claptrap. In other words, let the leftists savage you (like they did GWB), and leave office with a 22% approval rating so that an inexperienced "community organizer," and closet communist who's never held a real job can be the next POTUS.

Trump has had more crap heaped upon him than any other human being I've ever known. Bush stayed silent and "above the fray" when he was being called every name in the book and the liberals still hated him. It seems as though liberals are permitted to air their every thought, but the president is not allowed to put on the gloves and fight back against his enemies and those of America.
I am amused at how the Bush presidents are now A-Listers because they were/are so anti-Trump.
Clint, you disappoint me. You are now Fifi Yates to me.

Plus, he's tap dancing on the edge of the dementia wishing well. It happens, eventually.

I’ll wait for more info before forming opinion on this. Clint talks like certain of my conservative friends (one a retired LAPD cop), who think DJT is rough around the edges. Certainly, they and I would never vote to the left of center. I assume Dirty Harry would do likewise.

#22 - "rough around the edges" is the exact phrase I posed to my liberal mother-in-law this week, which is the only reason she can come up with for not liking him. Well, Johnny Rotten was a bit rough around the edges at the time but that's what it took to take on the disco culture, smash it to pieces, and leave on the ash heap of history.
As for Philo, I'm reminded of brother Orville's reaction while observing Ma Beddoe's gaga-eyed silence after she fell in love:"You don't suppose her brain has completely turned to salt, do you?"

Hard to know just how to interpret what Clint said, with all the twisting of words and spinning of meaning that happens to reality after the enemedia have reported on it. Seems worth either bracketing the statement [until we get some clarification from him], or ignoring it altogether [a good general policy for remarks from artists and athletes.]

Early on, PDJT’s daughter Ivanka described her father as “blunt”. My dictionary says that means “uncompromisingly forthright”. Works for me.

He needs to read Scott Adam's "Win Bigly" to see why what Trump is doing is working. Playing "nice' has done nothing for conservatives the last 40 years. We need Trump--just the way he is.

The only thing ornery about politics is the dumbocrats. And they are beyond that. Hasn't Clint heard what they are calling Trump? Liar, racist and any other thing they can think of, and he wants The Donald to be more genteel? He can't get a fair shake in the media, so tweeting is the way he can get his message out. As for Mini Mike, there probably is much more to the story that the media leaves out.

This is the stupidest comment of support that I've heard.
Think it through, Clint.
Bloomberg is running at the top of the DEMOCRAT Party. You elect Mini Mike, then you elect all the Democrats down ballot.
And Crazy Nancy retains Speakership. UpChuck Schumer runs the Senate. And all the crazy Democrat loons keep the jobs, and more are added.
Its a package deal that way. And the Democrat Party has a platform
So when Mini Mike takes away your guns, and institutes Medicare for All, Reparations, Green New Deal, and undoes every one of Trump's accomplishments, at least you won't have to see Trump being ornery any more.
Clint, you caught Hollyweird Disease and TDS

I don't see Clint's rationale in this.
Bloomberg is for government run healthcare, banning coal, and everything else Obama supported. He actually running on his relationship with Obama. Clint was the guy that did the empty chair routine to represent Obama, but supports Bloomberg even though he is largely the same. It doesn't make sense.
Unity under the Democrats meant their way or the high way. That has never changed. Bloomberg will be the same. There is no unity with the Democrats because they refuse to accept any opposing points of view.
Clint is concerned about Trump's temperament? Has he looked at the Democrats lately? The Democrats have no regard for anyone. They will take your wealth and your freedom. What does that say about the temperament of the Democrats? They are not fit to govern. They are far worse than Trump.
Hopefully Clint Eastwood sees the errors of his ways.
